help need for free up memory in c

could anyone please advise how to free up more memory in c. i read in this site that someone has more than 3000 kb. how? please help!

Another tip is to move all the SIS files from c\system\install to d\system\install (you may need to create this directory). BUT, make sure you leave install.log in c\system\install

Reboot device holding ctrl/shift and "f" , this will format your system, then install all_nokia_data to D as well as all_memory_card_data. As suggested, move your ini. files to memcard( create an install file in D/system) but leave the index file. Then erase the nokia.jpg from C/photogallery and create a new photogallery in documents on D, remember to spell it right and the imaging app. opens it as usual! Then use another pic for your viewing pleasure. Go to control panel/ default folder and move it to something on D ( i have a "first stop" folder for everything newly created). Go to c/system/help and move all the help files to D (creating a help folder in docs will allow the app. to work when you press the hotkey) and finally, go to messaging menu and switch message storage from C to D. Before shortcuts and favourites are added you will have a grand total of around 3.4 meg free. File manager and clock are still installed on C automatically and i cant find a way of switching the other memory chewing bits over without causing tears and tantrums from the little nokia. It's not quite the 16 meg that comes with the new 9210injection, (do they do a boot spoiler for it yet??) but it's better than 'nowt!
Hope this helps User posted image
Happy formatting.

When programs quit unexpectedly with memory errors (Ski Flying) is that due to a lack of disc space on C or RAM space?

Basicly, would clearing files as you've described make more stuff work?!

I have tried a tip obtained from somebody and it worked excellently in every situation where memory message came.

simply PESS CNTRL SHIFT CHR AND K simultaneously. the screen will keep changing, change it for two to three times and try your program. I am sure it will work nicely if not then repeat it. Excess memory will be freed to run your desired application.

i tried the above 4keys method but failed. mine c is around 3000kb. mine is not running programs but open a web site. i obtained around 39% of the info on the web and then the not "enough memory" message apeared.could anyone help me please!

YES it does make more memory free on C drive. but when you remove a application u cannot use them anymore, so be carefull that you don`t remove FILE-MANAGER or SCREEN for example.

Also want to add that sometimes when u re-install the "all in one package" you also have things that they do not have as individual.sis.

One is backup.sis. a useful tool to back up your communicator on the fly into your memory card. That is not available if you looking for a standalone .sis.

Or unless someone else has found it somewhere?

Clearing out the C drive seems to make things run much more smoothly, less out of memory messages, and the main reason, since evrything you install is unpacked onto C regardless of it's destination, is that you have room to install larger apps. You can never have too much memory. Or is that mamory? I forgot. User posted image

Maybe you can get more memory by using ZipManager or Yzip but only thing is that it is Shareware and not freeware.

Does anyone knows of a free ZIP program??
