I was out on Friday night and half way through the nite... sitting in the corner of a club playing Tetris (you know I'm exciting!) my phone started being funky... first of all the 2, 5 and 8 buttons stopped working then it went to "Please insert sim card" andafter a reboot was fine until it did the "Please insert sim card" and wouldn't turn back on... the next morning, however, it was fine.
I charged the thing and it was opkay... long phone call - drained batter totally and on Sunday needed another charge but now it just keeps coming up "Not Charging"... local NSC can't repair 7650s so got to go to another one for them to look at it - anyone else had a phone just decide to go skitzo on them 😊? I've had it stop charging before as well and needed a new keypad module.
sounds like your 7650 has had a short but very intense life 😮
I've not come across the charging issue before - unless there is something physically stopping the jack making contact, I fear the only way forward is a trip to the NSC. At least it'll be under guarantee...
Best of luck
Paul
NSC hadn't seen anything like it before either so my phone is currently moving accross the country somewhere to Nokias magical phone repair centre hidden somewhere in the midlands 😊 Last time it took 4 weeks... this will be another 2... thats 6 weeks out of 9 months that it has spent being repaired 😊
Once again, it has been proven that nokia is not making the phones it used to... Too bad. Hope not to take too much to be fixed... I also had a problem with my phone two days after I bought it, and it took them more than a month to fix it (basically they gave me a new phone with the old cover) so i know how you feel. But i suggest to demant from them to give you another device, they have to do so if they want to follow the rules nokia has created for such situations...
Well guytp,if it makes you feel better, mine was 8 weeks away for repair(In Germany 😃).Did you know how the problem was resolved, they gave me a new device!!!
They could've done that right away!! What can i say, great service!!
Nokia has one of the worst service centers
I'm not impressed either with the build quality of the 7650. What's inside is market leader stuff, but the slider, on-off button... even my battery cover is held firm by a bit of sellotape inside. Embarrassed laugh from the NSC employee...
The bigger the screen, the more delicate the phone without a doubt, but previous Siemens & Ericsson phones I have had seem to have been better designed to cope with "wear & tear" ie dropping it. What will happen when our warranty runs out?
(Tip - get a new one from the guarantee just before it does run out 😞 )
