Smallville would be just perfect 😊 Anybody where i can upload them so that omeone can encode them to mp4? 😊
[P800] mp4 movies-friends
Why don't you encode them yourself? It's quite easy if you use PV Author and have the right settings. I can send you the profile I'm using if you like.
When you have a good profile, all you have to do is select the file you want to encode, load the profile, hit start and VOILA. 😊
It dnt wrk on mine, it says "unknown error x 8004" im using it on windows 98 n its trial version. Some1 plz plz help me, reply 2 dis or pm me. Fanx.
raven could you please post the profile you are using
Here you go. 😊
Raven, Tnx a lot.
what is the size that will best be viewed in widescreen?
tnx for the profile raven,do i have to use another viewer in p800 or is this profile designed to work perfectly with the bulit in packetvideo player?tnx!
what is the best setting for sounds especially when im going to convert an mtv music video using pvauthor..tnx.
Hi Migueltan,
do i have to use another viewer in p800 or is this profile designed to work perfectly with the bulit in packetvideo player?tnx!
It's designed to work with the PV Author -one of tools you can use to encode the only video file type(MP4) the default video player(PV Player) in the P800 accepts. It is not however optimized for "widescreen" view. I find that the new "widescreen" feature of the PV Player bundled with the P800 su@ks basically, as it just stretches the original size of the clip, and the playback will only be like 4-5fps, which to me is completely unwatchable. And there's no way of making it play a clip encoded to the size PV Player stretches it to. The PV Player will just not accept it, with an error saying something like; Video dimension too large. So lets just keep our fingers crossed for a better video/media player, but in the mean time I find that the PV Player does a pretty decent a job at video playback as long as you don't use the "widescreen" view. Try one of the Friends clips I've encoded here. They are encoded using the profile I posted above.

Well, the trial version of PV Author doesn't allow you to use the stereo AAC codec, so the sound will only be in MONO, which perhaps isn't the best choice for a music video. I've even tried the full version, but the result was poor. Using stereo AAC the sound got completely out of sync with the picture, and the playback was "choppy". But I've found the Sorenson Squeeze software to handle this much better than PV Author, so you might want to try that one out when encoding a music video to MP4.
Hope this helps a little.
Cheers
tnx raven!
raven..is that profile of urs the best setting for our p800 or is there a new improved one? pls email me at TNX!
Settings that worked well for me from a .avi download converted to .mp4:
Application: Sorenson Squeeze
Stream Type: Streaming hinted
Data Rate: 96
Frame Rate: 15
Method: Constant bit rate
Frame Size: 160 X 120
90min = about 80-85mb (not bad if you have 128mb duo)
...I'm a newbee but it worked well for me
OK - so all I have is a laptop and my P800 but --- I have oldschool/mp4 and use winMx -- message me in WinMx "P800" and I will start your D/L when I am at my computer (my usrnm is the same).
I've had a hardware problem - lost all my s/w - can anyone tell me where I can get a link to these vids?

@ Raven, I see you have removed the link to your friends vids, r u hosting them elsewhere now or have you removed them?
Just got my 128 duo today and would love to try them out!
Thanks,
Simon
Hi ultimatemobiles,
I had to remove the link to the site because we decided that posting links to full length films/TV shows etc. was against the forum rules, because of copyright laws. Sorry... 😞
Hi Raven I am finding it hard to put mp4 movie on my p800. So I would like you to send me your personal web site so I can down load the friends series. Cheers mate.
😊
Raven wrote:Hi,Cranium has offered to host some video clips for me. He told me that he would have a FTP ready for me on monday where I can upload some clips, and then he'll post a link to his private site where these clips will be available for everyone.

Hello Raven,
I would like to find out whether you can send me the link to your site where one can upload the episodes that you have encoded. I have read that you decided to remove the link 'cause it was against this forum and copyright rules. So can I ask you to send me on this e-mail: () the link to your site with episodes of FRIENDS? I thank you in advance.
Raven
Im an New P800 user i was wondering if you could send me your friends episodes() or e-mail me where i can download them from, ill relay appreciate it if you can
THANKS IN ADVANC
Raven wrote:I've encoded 12 full Friends episodes now, some of which are brand new, just now playing in the US.I decided to make them in what I consider to be the most "watchable" quality, which gave a size of 18.3-21.2MB per episode, but most of the clips are exactly 19,5MB.
For those of you who don't have a 64 or a 128MB mem stick, just let me know if you wan't me to make some of the clips smaller, ok.
These are the ones I've encoded so far:
Friends - 809-The one with the rumour
Friends - 822-The one where Rachel is late
Friends - 902-The one where Emma cries
Friends - 904-The one with the sharks
Friends - 905-The one with Phoebes birthday dinner
Friends - 908-The one with Rachels other sister
Friends - 909-The one with Rachels phone number
Friends - 910-The one with Christmas in Tulsa
Friends - 911-The one where Rachel goes back to work
Friends - 917-The one with the memorial service
Friends - 918-The one with the lottery
Friends - 919-The one with Rachels dreamSo now I only need "Cranium"(or someone else) to provide me with a host.
Cheers
