yes there is.
it all has to do with the 'active desktop' microsoft inorporated since windows 98 and also windows 95 via Internet explorer 4.
the 'active desktop', use a .htt file (html template) to display any web objects on the desktop. that is why we can use jpeg files as wallpapers now rather than bmp. the htt file could be edited to include extra html commands even tho limited to what you could add.

windows 95, 98 and Me needed manual activation of 'active desktop' and they where abit basic in what they could display, but with windows xp, the sky is the limit (mostly).

now he bad news :-? :
i dont know how to animate the background in xp and i cant really recall where to find the .htt file in window 9x and Me. sorry guys :-? 😮ops:

there was a website that specialized in animated wallpaper themes for windows, but the site had long closed down due to the changes in windows and lack of interest.

the fact of the mater is, microsoft expect you to be interested in the other "exciting" features of xp, thus have made it almost impossible to do such novelties again.

good news (partialy) 😊 :

you could always set an animated gif as wallpaper, but unless you have a powerful computer, expect some slow-downs in performance.

sorry it didnt help but this is what i know. 😊
have a lolipop ====(||) as a consolation. 😃

Thats great! Just tell me one thing...when you use eprofilespro to display the gifs as wallpapers....dont they get really big and the image loses quality? How do you avoid that?
Thanks!

eprofiles will not enlarge the gif file as long as you have set its size near as possible to the 174x131 7650 wallpaper standard.

the quality will also depend on how much the image has been optimised on the pc, obviously the speed of the animation will be slower as a wallpaper than as a screensaver.
to sort out the slow speed of the animation on the phone, ive tried decreasing the frame rate, that way, it would go unreasonably fast when veiwed on computer but it will give it a fair enough speed on 7650.

the quality of the animation really depends on the size of the gif and the program used to create it. the better the quality the larger the file size the and vice versa, unless you've got a good program that provides a fair balance between.

Nice one Toby. You da man! 😊 😃
