Hi All,
I know it has been a while since I last posted about our Camcorder program. But we have not been resting... Anyway, the good news is that the program is finally HERE!

Unfortunately I don't have a working download site yet so you'd have to write me to get the software (pls. indicate Lite or Beta Pro). I already sent out tons of these to those of you who responded via e-mail to my previous posting. Because there are so many inquiries I'm kind of losing track... so PLEASE, email me if you want the software. Let's keep this section purely for questions and feedbacks?

For those of you who haven't heard about this, the following is a brief list of key features:
- "Unlimited" recording that's only limited by available storage (not RAM).
- Sychronized audio/video capture[/list]
- Support MMC card on 3650 for more than 30 minutes of continuous recording and playback
- Visual video album
- Send via MMS, email, IrDA, and Bluetooth
- ADPCM audio recording for clear all-purpose sound

Good point Willy. The problem is - if I do that then there is no way for me to track who has downloaded it. Ideally there should be a simple online form for downloading so I can collect the user info... but my HTML department is on vacation 😉

Can you not just create a download.htm file with an invisible hit counter which logs downloads? Then use the META REFRESH to link to the download URL after, say, 2 seconds?

Its not your hotmail. My email bounced back undelivered from 3 different accounts. Finally got the software from a friend. Sorry cant email it to you even if it is only a beta.

The video encoding quality is excellent and by far better than any other mobile video recorder! I installed it on my 3650 and I tried recording to my memory card. Only drawback is the fps its not as smooth as the nokia videorecorder! I cant wait to try it on my P800 cause ARM9 on P800 is running at 156MHz compared to the 104MHz of my 3650 so I expect it to be smoother on the P800!
Good work keep optimising the code so the fps goes higher!!! And moreover the software is excellently polished and looks very professional!

I agree the picture quality for the file size is just amazing, it wipes the floor with the Nokia recorder and hipcam. The only problem i have found is that the recording slows down, especially when recording over 30seconds. The timer during recording can sometimes take between 2 and 3 seconds to advance 1 second, this isnt just the clock thats running slow as when you play the video back there can be big jumps in movement where the recorder seems to have paused during encoding. Other than thats is a great app. Another feature that would be nice is to have a user ajustable max file size for long video as well as the pre defined 50k 100k for mms.
Great work and a great video recorder (apart from the slowdown as mentioned above)

There is no doubt that the app can be better than hantro/hipcam. Excellent quality videos and an easy to use app.

What about a kb size counter alongside the seconds counter, so you know how much memory you're 'spending' as you're recording. I know you've got you're 'limiting MMS size' tool, but a counter would be great! 3650 owners obviously have their mountains of memory, but 7650 is limited and is the phone's major downfall and any 7650 owner will tell you that one eye is always on the memory.
Obviously try to optimise the fps, it's ok now...try and push it to excellent standard of the nokia recorder as katsj has said.
The tool itself is very professional, even down to the icons, which are excellent. They sit nicely in tandem with the camera/images icons.

One last thing. On tools, manger there's two files, one's 275kb and the other is 176kb and then the size of the videos means that's far too big for any app. However on the sDoubler main screen i've two files weighing in at 28kb and 24kb. Which are the true sizes? Can anyone confirm?

The manager file size is right. If you look in c:\system\libs you will find 3 files associated with the Player/Recorder totaling roughly 200k.
