Nokia today announced a brand new Series 60 phone, the Nokia 6600.

The Nokia 6600 phone features new advanced imaging features, including a bright 65,536-color TFT display and camera equipped with 2x digital zoom. These complement a built-in video recorder with audio and a RealOne player for playback and streaming of 3GPP-compatible and RealMedia video clips. Multimedia functions are enhanced by templates for MMS messages and a Media Gallery for organizing digital content captured or downloaded with the phone. Advances in phone features include support for Java MIDP 2.0, True Tones, themes, and personalization of clock and calendar sounds.

The new Nokia 6600 is based on the latest Symbian OS v7.0s operating system. The phone is equipped with 6 MBytes of internal memory and comes with 32 MB MMC card. Nokia 6600 supports Bluetooth and infrared connection and is a triband phone (900/1800/1900 MHz). It weighs 122 grams (108.6 x 58.2 x 23.7mm, 113cc). The phone will be available in the 4th quarter of 2003.

Think if you could swap the sim card and the MMC whenever you want and use the communicator during business hours and 6600 for evening use and all your calendar events and contacts and music and everything essential would follow you. This is perhaps still a dream cause of the different OS versions, but maybe one day...

The apps are definitelly out of the questions. But contacs, calendar events and music and everything is not so unreal! 😉

Yeah, i still perfer P800 running on Symbian 7. I think Nokia's R&D people need to pull their sock high this time. Look at what people in Sony Ericsson and Samsung, i think they will have a better play in the market of mobile communication.

I DONT THINK SO.NOKIA IS A LEADER of mobile phones,it is the best.THE ONLY BREND,that can concurate with NOKIA IS SE,..SAMSUNG sucks...

NOKIA has a wide range of phone models, and each phone is designed for interests of every man.FOR example NOKIA HAS MUSIC PHONE(3300),GAMEPHONE(N-GAGE,will appear on Christmas),Smartphones..

I think there shold really be no problem reading the files from each app as fundamentally they should be the same app but with a different UI to respect the device they are on. The calendar should store the data in the same files dispite that the apps are different as more info can be displayed on the 9210 than say the P800 or S60 device.
Well, the real successor of the 7650.

But I still prefer the Siemens SX1...
*high 5*

:-? Well... I'm really tired of NOKIA phones... but all that will change when the NEXT communicator unleashed...
