Would the N6600 replace your SE P800?
N6600 vs. SE P800
i vote no, of course p800 is p800 bro. 😉 best fone, i know, you know what is the reason bro 😊
n6600 is not ment to replace p800... that's why i vote no. but it will replace my 7650. p800 is a pda, n6600 is a phone... the old discussion again?
I won't vote,i don't have a p800.But if i had both i'd use both for different purposes.
-Edit-
You took the words out of my mouth Al3xander.Would you start a poll, nokia 7250 VS Nokia 7650/3650?
AS were said in other thread,6600 and P800 are uncomparable, guys achieved it to me.
how are they incomparable? doesn't eh 6600 support 3g? but it's only got one camera so video calls can't be carried out.
Just read a thread '6600 realese moved',from 3rd page.
I'd go for the 6600 to get a one hand operated smartphone, and the P800 if I wanted more a pda device.
Therefore I agree with others that these aren't quite comparable and are targeted for different kind of use..
I voted for the 6600, because currently I prefer the one hand design of the Series 60 platform.

If it had Stereo I would have said yes, but it doesn't.... so NO 😞
3G? How can it support 3G on a GSM network. It's a whole new ballgame 3G.
6600 and other similar phones refer to 2.5G category.
Yes,the 6600 is a 2,5G phone. The only nokia phone,or maybe the only phone(that i know of)that can work both on 3g(WCDMA) and regular GSM networks is the 6650.
Ahem, well, actually, all 3G phones fall back to ordinary GSM when not in a 3G cell area. This is essential for the uptake of the technology as without it you would only be able to use your phone in a very limited number of places until more 3G base stations are built. This is not to say the 6600 supports 3G (I wouldn't have the foggiest whether it supports 3G or not) in fact I can't see why they would bother if it is essentially a 2.5G phone.

Are you sure?
[quote="Nokia Developer Network Newsletter"]The Nokia 6650 phone is the first in the market capable of seamless handovers
between GSM and Wideband CDMA (WCDMA) systems in a dual-mode network.
Consumers will be able to enjoy global roaming on all GSM 900/1800 networks
globally as well as on WCDMA networks in Japan and Europe.

@Ghostdog
bout the 3G that fall back to 2G when not in the 3G area this is absolutely true
cos here in Australia we use this 3G here
and if there is a 3G icon on the screen means that u can use the 3G service but if the icon change to 2G then u just can make a phone call or SMS
the phone that i was talking about is NEC 606
THE INTERESTING FACT is that the MAIN feature of 3G phones and 3G networks is that you can watch high streamed videos on 3G phone, you also can see a person with who you are speaking....BUT WE CAN SEE that modern 2.5G phones can do the same things that 3G do,except," can see a person with who you are speaking",BUT this feature is available in JAPAN,where is CDMA2000..
Like you said, streaming videos are available on 2.5g phones.I guess that even video conferencing could be done through GRPS,the Samsung SGH-D700 has a rotational camera so the only problem would be the software.
The main feature of 3g wouldn't be video conferencing, but the promise of high bandwith which makes video conferencing posible.Like Kiril said, the difference is on the hardware level.
CDMA2000 is 3g.
I have cast my vote NO. Becoz i have defected from Nokia to Sony Ericsson. I have used years of Nokia product and most of it have problems and poor engineering.
Ericsson phone is tough and better R&D than Nokia when they merge with Sony.
P800 still best phone and I will stick with it for a long while till the next 3G phone is in the market in Singapore.
Maybe you are right, but my vote comes to 6600.
This is really funny,i bet that most of the people who voted yes don't even own a p800 😃
Can anyone post the voting situation?
But i used P800 for 1 week..And want to say that its better to buy PDA,like HP5450,its my point of view(IMHO).,in my humble opinion.
Once I saw a Ferrari in a TV commercial,(IIRC,ISP,ITS,IWBNI,IYFEG,IANAL,IRC,HLL).,If I Recall Correctly,Internet Service Provider,Incompatible Time-sharing System,It Would Be Nice If,Insert Your Favourite Ethnic Group,I Am Not A Lawyer,Internet Relay Chat,High Level Language.
I win.
It would be better to buy a PDA,if you want to carry two devices but what if you don't?

Hmm.. Its depending on what kind of devices you need. For my personal point of view, i'll go for N6600. Basically P800 is a PDA-phone whereby N6600 is a SMARTphone.
And also, i don't agree to the point which you mentioned, "I have used years of Nokia product and most of it have problems and poor engineering.".
I've also used it for years and i don't have any problems with it at all. So i guess the problem should be improper handling of the device by you or maybe improper usage? :P
PS: Its my personal point of view.
I've never had a problem also...
All devices have problems,i can state a couple with my 7650,the Bluetooth System error in early firmware version, the Memory Full bug,the startup failed after installing apps that autostart. The p800 has bugs too but that is not the issue here.
Like i2umi,it depends on what you need.If you need a smartphone,go for the 6600,if you need something with more horse power, more PDA'ish,go for the p800.
My point is the 6600 is not a lot different then the 3650/7650,there are improvements, but nothing radical and like i've said in many of my previous posts, its gonna sell extremely good because of fashion, trend and because joe "i want the new Nokia" shmoe wants it.Anyway, its a good device.

well written :bday: :bday:
i agree on that
Well as mentioned before these two products doesnt really belong to the same category, so no point in comparison. In the end, you will have to make the choice what features you really need. As for me, I will stick with my P800 bec i love the touchscreen, the stereo mp3 player, the jog dial etc. Then theres the rumor that the next P800 will come with 2mp cmera. Now this is certainly quite believable, knowing Sony. Just look what they did to their latest PDA, the NZ90 i think. I believe that the merger of Sony, a respected consumer company and Ericsson, a respected telecom company would ultimately produce some really fine products for us the consumers 😊
i htink the next p8** is actually equipped wit a 1.3 megapixel... i think... hmm...o well..
dont yell at me if i get this wrong!! ( me and my paranoid self)
