In ActiveDesk? Options -> Display settings -> Set Wallpaper -> <whichever option appeals>. The other option is to download a theme from http://www.cibenix.com/downloads_7650_themes.html as a sis file and install it. My theme is still first in their list, possibly because it's the most recently submitted. I am pleased to see they've got rugby trg on (one of) the right day(s) for me, if a little late. 8-)
For the phone itself it is (confusingly IMHO) in Settings -> Phone -> Standby mode. go to Background image and turn it off - then select Background image again and you'll be asked which image you'd like to use.

cause i downloaded one from there and installed it but i don't see it anywhere
so i'm guessing i need ActiveDesk or something like that to use the file i downloaded
where do i get it and is it free 😃

To use the Active Desk profiles, yes you have to install Active Desk. It's available from the Cibenix website and isn't free but does have a free trial. Personally I think it's great and makes the organiser/PDA functions buried in the phone usable.
If you just want to put a piccie in place of the default one then, as I said,
in the main menu go to Settings -> Phone -> Standby mode. go to Background image and turn it off - then select Background image again and you'll be asked which image you'd like to use.
