Hi All,
ETI Camcorder 1.0 fixed a SERIOUS bug in the beta which writes color-inverted/upside-down videos. Now the generated videos are 100% compatable with other MPEG4 codecs such as Divx and Xvid. To create compliant videos on your PC, you'd need to download this updated EYECON converter. SPECIAL THANKS to J. Williamson who created the fantastic EYECONGUI program! It now offers seamless integration with Window Explorer for instant playback/conversion of EYE files!
Installation
-------------
1. Unzip all files into C:\EYECON\. If you already have the old EYECON program installed, DO NOT remove it!!! Simply copy over the new files and when prompted to overwrite, click "YES". NOTE: you may experience upside-down videos if you have the old NUB codec installed. Remove it before installing the new EYECON. You can do this via Control Panel's "Add/Remove Program" option.
2. Right-click on the NUB2.INF file and choose "Install" from the popup menu.
3. Go to the "Start" menu and choose "Run". Type the following command:
regsvr32 c:\eyecon\hcnubsrc.ax
Usage
-------
Remains the same as the old one. Using command line you'd type:
C:\EYECON\eyecon myvideo.eye myvideo.avi
or, of course, you can use the included GUI program. In case you get an error using it, try copy both the EYE and EAR files into the C:\EYECON directory and convert from there.
Iam sorry to ask but where will i download this from my phone or my pc? 😞

This ZIP is meant for your PC... You use the software on your PC to convert the videos into standard AVIs. I hope this helps?
Hi
Every time i try and convert a eye to an avi (using GUI or command line) i get this response (see screenshot)
i have downloaded the latest eyecon annd followed the stepes you have given.....help!!
OMG OMG OMG!!! I got it working so complety ignore last post!!!
i remember some1 saying it was possible to increase the size of the vid but not loose quality? what program does this?
Thanks

I'm glad it worked 😃 You can use VirtualDub on the converted AVI file to resize it. Just add a "Resize" filter, and choose "Precise Bicubic". Give a reasonable output size such as 160x120 or 176x144.
i still can't get it to work
i get that same windows error reporting thing
help please
okay i got the video to convert but still get the windows error message. It does work though. Anyway, it is flipped and the colors are all messed up. Anything to fix this?
i also encountered the same problem, however, unlike you guys, i still can't get it to convert any of my videos! what'd you do to fix this? any insights?! i installed the eyecon2 and followed all the instructions, still can't get it to work! help pls!
thanks!
For those who encounter EYECON crash, it is typically caused by entering the wrong file names. You should try copying BOTH the EYE and EAR files into your C:\EYECON\ directory, then convert it from there using the GUI tool.

Is this a beta-encoded video? To find out, use the FOURCC changer http://www.divx-digest.com/software/avifourcc.html to change the FOURCC of the AVI to "NUB1" or "DIVX" (you must have DIVX installed)
Guys,
I've been working on a new GUI for ETI Converter and it's 90% completed (it lets you also view EYE files in your favourite player just by double clicking the icon 😊) but I need an EYE file and an EAR file to test the app. (My phone batteries are dead 😞)
If anyone could provide me with said files I'd appreciate it.
Cheers
Got a sample EYE/EAR file now - no need to send any.
Cheers
Okay, I've finished the new GUI.
Version 1.1
What's New?
The new converter sports a brand new GUI, consisting of three steps.
Step One - Allows you to specify the EYE file to convert
Step Two - Lets you pick where to save the AVI file.
Step Three - Does the conversion!
It's that simple.
And there's more...!
The new converter integrates seemlessly with Windows Explorer, so now you can just right-click on an .EYE file, and you have the choice of two options:
1. Convert to AVI - Click here and the highlighted EYE file is immediately converted to an AVI file.
2. Play Movie - Immediately plays the EYE file in your default media player. This is achieved by transparent conversion. So it's as if you're just double clicking any other supported media file![/list:u]
The converter now also works with files in any location - there is no longer any need to copy the files to the EYECON folder before converting.
Here are a few screenshots to show you what it's like:
Windows Explorer Integration
Step One of the conversion
Step Two of the conversion
Step Three of the conversion
What are you waiting for? Get it now! Just drop it into your eyecon folder, and overwrite the old GUI.
Comments are welcome.
Cheers
That's great...
just 1 question what's the other file in the zip archive for. Do I need to install that file??
are there no other installation instructions other than just overwrite the old files in the c:\eyecon directory with the new ones?? is that all I got to do??

That's just a file it needs on some systems to run. Just extract it to the same directory as the GUI and you'll be fine.

That's all you've got to do, yes. 😊
okay the program works perfectly except for one problem. My videos are upsidedown! They look great but that's the problem. Am I doing something wrong?

Ha, i had that problem too but i found out what it was. I had 2 NUB codecs installed (NOB0 and NUB2) so i just had to remove "NUB0" via the Control Panel's Add/Remove Program option and it works now! 😃
Okay, I've finished the new GUI........
Thanx j2k!!! You made my day! 8) This is such a timesaver man! No more fuss with copying ear&eye files, just 1 click and done! Yeay! 😃 You're the best!!!
(but i still would like a bulk converter so i can convert a lot of ear&eye-files in one folder at once! 😉 )
Where can I find the eyecon converter?
My languages is weak because I live abroad.I would like to know how can I download eyecon?(net adress).
Been away for a while and just seen this - good work mate! 😊
But when I right click my.eye file and 'play movie' once I close the media player and return the the folder I see me original .eye file has been deleted???
Wheres it gone bro!
