Task Manager displays Free Memory incorrectly?

5 replies · 8,489 views · Started 17 August 2002

The Task Manager in my 7650 seems to be reporting the FREE MEMORY incorrectly. In it, it displays the free memory as 2452KB, but if I go to Menu->Tools->App. Manager, the Free memory reported was 1344 KB.

So there is more than 1 MB DIFFERENCE in the free memory reported. I know that App. Manager use memory when opened, but 1MB?

Anybody has this issue?

i installed task manager, too. and as you said, it displays free memory much more than yours!! how come..?

i got about 500k free memory, but it displays sometimes ~2400k, sometimes ~3000k ..?

btw, while working on task manager, how can we go to the main menu..?

I emailed PsiLoc, no reply. Maybe if you email them you have better luck and can inform all of us here.

The Task Manager of course shows available program execution memory (SRAM), not storage space (Flash ROM).

Hi - u r mixing up something. The Task Manager displays free RAM (working!) memory, and the Program Manager shows free flash memory (where u store pictures, midis, programs ...)!
