how i can convert .sis theme files on .mbm files?
convert .sis files on .mbm files
OK it is very easy. Actually you do not convert the sis file to mbm file, but you extract the *.mbm from the *.sis
Here is how:
1. Get Total Commander (previously known as Windows Commander) from http://www.ghisler.com/download.htm and install it.
It is a very good shareware, but fully functional file manager for Windows, with no time limit.
2. Download SisView from http://www.dalibor.cz/epoc/sisview.htm
It is a free add-on for Total Commander that allows you to see the contents of .sis archives. Read the readme.txt included in the zip you downloaded for instructions. It is very easy to use
Then, using Total Commander with the SisView add-on, you can find the .mbm in the .sis theme file and extract it to your hard disk.
100% tested and working for all .sis files (apps or themes) 😊
thanks a lot you're great....sorry for my english but i'm italian...hi...
Hi,
From what I've read are you trying to see the components of already made sis themes?
I already do this and can use the bits I want from various themes to make up one that I want to use.
First I use Unmakesis http://mitglied.lycos.de/atzplzw/ it is free to download and use. This gives you two files from a theme, the .MBM file and a .SKN file.
Then, in the folder created I copy MbmWizard (don't know a link for this but it's free and around) and import the .MBM file into the wizard. Select all BMP's and save them.
Now you have all the BMP files used to create the theme.

Greate soft COOLICE!!
Can U help me haow i can edit sis files, i need any soft for compalilig sis files and editor for change app files in system files!
regards
Your welcome mate, glad you liked my small input. I'd only just figured it out about a week ago, hope people don't mind me using their icons 😕
"Can U help me haow i can edit sis files, i need any soft for compalilig sis files and editor for change app files in system files!"
When you do this you can tell me! 😊 I'd like to be able to do this myself, but alas I can't.
I think I know why you want to do this, but we won't say here as it's bad 😉
As for playing around with sis files and compiling/decompiling I'm lead to believe the Nokia Symbian Developer Kit can do this.
I requested the SDK, got it sent to me and had a little play, but have never really done anything.
I think it really needs to be incorporated with C++ and maybe Visual Basic to really do anything decent with it.
I can't program at all, I'd like to know how and want to understand more but don't for now.
If you hear anything let me know.
Now where are your themes, show them to us 😊
Ian
enjoy 😉
if u get 'comdlg32.ocx' missing error. Than copy this file 2 ur system/system32 folder!
enjoy 😉
Can anyone help me ??
When i try to open an mbm file with the wizzard it says : "not an falid archive"....
But its the mbm file witch i got from a sis file with unmake sis .
I tried it 6 times but it cant seem to open the mbm ..i don't know why😞
Hi,
I've had this myself and it is dam annoying.
What I tried was copying the Wizard into the same folder as the .mbm file I wanted to open. This appeared to work.
I also downloaded the software again just to be sure the copy I had was all ok.
Somethings just come to me while writing this, are you trying to open the .mbm file with the wizard?
If so I don't think this works, what you need to do is Import it into wizard with the File - Import option.
Try this out to see if it works.
Ian
Thanks for the fast reply!
I tried it like u said but it didn't work either...
Stil the same problem..):
Any other idea's??
(i did import not open b.t.w.)
HI!...
Nice to see that the Copy protection for even
the MBM file it's working 😊 ..
cya!
😎
Hi Aefox,
I never knew there was a copy protection on .mbm's?
If there is mate it hasn't worked with your themes as I have the icons 😊
Even my own can be done the same way, assuming someone would want to.
Tomster : Email me the .mbm and I'll have a try opening it. If I do I do, if I can't atleast we've tried eh.
Ian
Copy protectiion?? Why??
Ill send u the mbm.... its from aefox black and crystallized..
I love the black theme ..only i would like to use the icons from crystallized they are verry nice...
And offcourse my own wallpaper...
Forgot to ask... whats your email?
I cant use the forum mail thingy...for some reason..?!🙄
HI!..
Tomster....
i can't believe that you don't see the OPTION on EDIT Themes on the phone.. where you can assign any ICON pack and Wallpaper from any other installed theme.
So you can EDIT on the phone BLACK THEME ... and put ICONS.. from Crystalized or ANY other theme...
same for wallpapers...
cya!
😎
Hi Aefox,
Thanks for the advice.. but offcourse i already know about the edit function..😃
But i want to use some icons not all of them and some other ones from other themes..
And also i want to change the backgrounds....(not just the wallpaper)
Hope u dont mind.. i love your work ...i just want to put in a little personal style..🙄
Hi Tomster,
I know where your coming from mate as I'm of the same feeling.
I like some of Aefox's icons, some from crystalised, some from the coolice (not mine) theme to. So it's nice to have them and use what you want, where you want.
With Smart Launcher we all used to share our icons, but towards the end some people didn't like others using their work.
But at the end of the day most icons are taken from other places anyway.
My email address mate
I will send you the I have icons. Some are of my own doing, some are not, and some I have taken and made bigger to my liking to fill space available.
To those people who's I have, Aefox, crystallized etc. I thank you for your work. Any themes made with them people will see who made the icons.
Also some I have in my collection are already renamed and so can be copied and pasted into a themes folder, replacing the originals to be written into the theme on the next 'create sis' command.
Ian
hi!..
oh! ok no problem...
do whatever you want... 😃
cya!

hiya peeps thanks to this thread I have finally tracked down the mbm wizard and got some good tips so thanks to all for that, but I am having a few problems with it and not sure what is wrong?
I'm not getting the error message mentioned above but when I try to import an mbm the program is just hanging and eventually comes up with a not responding message.
I'm completely lost as to what to try now. could it be the same problem as above?
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Thanks Stevo
Hi Stevo,
You could try adding the above file into your system. Failing that maybe download again MBMWizard, just incase.
Also try copying the wizard into the same folder as the MBM your trying to open.
Ian
hi guys,, its just im stuck with the mbm extract from sis file thingy... i use as what was recommended the total commander and sis plugin,, i reach all the way to the mbm file in the sis source,, but when i double click to extract it,,, it says no file found / no file associated with this or when it does extract the mbm file then i try with the mbmwizard to convert or use the xnView program ,, it doesnt recognize it...

Hi Ian
Thanks for your reply, I will give it s go.
Cheers Stevo

That was over a month ago mate ... works like a charm for me now 😉
Thanks all for the info in this thread, i have managed to extract and edit themes,
but is there an easier way, for example if i want to change the image displayed behind the menu and only this image in an existing them, from what i can gather i have to edit said theme in S60 Theme Studio, now this takes a long time copy all the files over, change the names, often its difficult to get them all in the right place, so it would be easier if you could replace files within MBMwizard then repack back into a theme.sis file, is this possible in any way?
Thanks all
😊
I'm getting this error in attempting to open a file ...
Run-time error '76':
Path not found
Can someone help?
Hi. Have already extracted the mbm file from the sis file and opening them with mbmwizard (have also tried Theme Editor 6600) but all I get is "Not a valid archive". Have tried the open and import options already.
If this is due to copy-protection, is there any workaround?
yea... me too
somebody please help us T.T
