Man I was braindead, after I formatted my phone w/ the green,3,* keys before it worked easily. Then I kept trying it again and it wouldn't seem to format. *slaps himself on the head* if you can't get it to work remember to remove the power cord first

Noticed that after doing the full format you get call restriction as an option in Menu>Settings> (for TMO-USA)

if u upgrade your firmware to 4.09 from 3. something, then u hard format ur fon using the green key.. or any kind of format at all.. will the firmware be back to 3.42 ??

No. A reformat will not revert to old firmware. When a phone is flashed with new firmware, special equipment and software is used to do it, and it is permanent (until the next flashing procedure).

plz tell me by soft formatting nokia 6600 all my applications and programs will remain in tact or they will be deleted

if i do a soft reset then wll i lose the stuff that was originallly stored on te phone mem when i firs got it eg.themes picture mesages, snake mix pix etc.

or will i simply lose te folders i have made in the menu and my profiles

thanx

Hi all,
i was going through the list of codes and saw that there was a few codes missing that might be interesting for some. Some people have talked about the pure quality of the sound so these codes might help:

Enhanced Full Rate (EFR):
*3370# to activate EFR. Makes calls sound better, but decreases battery life by about 5%.
#3370# to deactivate EFR

Half Rate Mode (HFR):
*4720# to activate HFR. Decreases call quality but increases battery life by about 30%.
#4270# to deactivate HFR

I havent tried them on my 6600 so im not 100% sure that they work, but I have seen the codes on many different pages with Nokia Codes.

I think those codes worke for other previous NOKIA models but I tried on my 6600 and it doen't accept them.

No they dont.

They won't help. The network says what's the best codec it accepts. and the phone complies (and by default the phone also assumes it is the best one it has that it starts with). These settings/codes will not really have any practical impact.

The default lock code is mentioned in the User's Guide along with a lot of other details about you phone (it is 12345).

If you (or someone else using your phone) has changed it, and forgotten what it is, then nobody can tell you what it is.

To get out of that situation, have the phone reflashed at your nearest Nokia authorized service center.

i've installed qOffice to my n6600 -hoping to be able to make it work although it is for UIQ- and now i continiously getting the "App. Closed AppArcSreverThread" message. I tried the code you gave to safeboot, but it still autostarts the application and it crashes the os. I'm now able to open the phone just by removing the MMC. Is there an other way to safeboot?

wow gooooooooooooood jop will done

Thanx for this information. it helped me a lot.
Can u pls tell me what is the code for restarting 6600.
Thanx in advance.

Is there a code to reboot the phone? On my old Nokia I used to type #3370# this would reboot my phone and when using it with my twin sim adapter it would switch to the other sim. Is there a code for the 6600?

Can someone please tell me how can i retain the LOG (Last dialled Calls) even after changing the SIM Card in nokia 6600?. I need to change SIM card frequently, and i always loose my last dialled numbers and received calls.

Well, if you're using 2 different SIM from the same mobile service provider, then you won't lose your recent calls lists/logs, I changed SIM from time to time but from the SAME provider, and I don't lose any logs at all.

Thanks for the info.

If you have an unlocked phone ( 6620 ATT ) and get it flashed ( when their is finally a new fw release ) will the phone become relocked? i am using on TMO and I dont want it re locked to ATT.

Hiya i formatted my phone but the reason i did was that i did not know the code for my wallet and also the lock code if it is factory setting then could you please tell me what is the lock code and wallet code.?

The default lock code and wallet reset code (all data will be lost) is printed in the phone's User's Guide.

is there any posibility to find out the lock code, and the wallet code, cose i bought a 6600 with all accessories but without a user guide. is there a legal program that does that ? pleaaaase 😮
