It's not an issue, it's a feature. 😉 I believe all series 60 phones are slow to boot up if you compare them to series 40 phones.
So there is 5.27.0 as I understand so far. (And there is not in USA?)

Last time I went for firmware upgrade for my 6150 they ruined its display (I could hardly read it! and the people at NSC told me it was so when I gave it! 😡 )

i just had my phone replaced as the old one broke. i now have new firmware but can't send midi files with seleq via bluetooth any more. is there a way round this???
That was introduced to stop people abusing digital rights managed ring tones etc. and has been discussed in other threads.
If that information is allowed to be passed on this forum then the answer will be found by searching the forums, if not then mods would have deleted the work around.
Hi!!! I�m new here and that�s my first post, but I think I can help... I�m from Brazil (yes, the third world country...) and I could get the update (5.27) at a Nokia Center. The thing is, there was only one office that had this update, I had to call all of them... and some of them had the version 1.0.., and were absolutely sure there was no other than that...
See, the nice guy at the updated center told me he had it because he emailed Nokia as a Center and said he was having that demand from costumers, half an hour later Nokia responded thanks for your efforts and sent him the software... very easy and professional.
So, this takes me to some conclusions:
1 - Yes, there�s a new official version of the firmware, and it�s called 5.27.
2 - The people at the Centers are too busy, misinformed and just don�t give a f*** about updating softwares... they make money with our broken phones...
3 - It�s absolutely exclusive to Nokia Offices, and it has nothing to do with the costumer directly, very technical and they believe you should only upgrade for a reason, it�s really a matter of the guy down the office understanding we want it because we want it...
4 - If i could get it in Brazil... you should get it anywhere...

just curious that almost every symbian/Nokia forum says that the newest firmware for 6600 is 5.27.0, here I let you all know that the newest firmware for Nokia 6600 is:
5.53.0
30.12.04
I'm live in Indonesia, this new firmware was already on sale here since 2 months ago! This firmware is absolutely faster than 5.27.0.
