Problems and Recommendations

first of all, why make a new topic, you could have easily added this to another topic with bugs. Let's keep the forum easy to read shall we 😉

=> you can set the alarm to repeat every day or every week. At least i can

There's a bug with word countdown when Im writing an SMS message. In the beggining I just thought that there wasnt such an option but later I noticed that if I open up the options menu and then cancel it will appear for just a fraction of a second. So it is there, it just wont show... at least on my phone!

=> there is no countdown, that's true. But you can't call it a bug. A bug is something that doesn't work. A countdown should be added in the new firmware.

No option for full size pics in the photo view app

=>NOT TRUE ! just open foto album and open a picture. Next choose full screen in the options.

No mp3 support for ringtones!!

=>why use mp3 if wav works. Just convert the mp3 to a wav file and put it in
c:\nokia\sounds\digital. That does the trick 😊

Gif animation is horrible and there's no repeat option!

=>gif animation? can you send an example of a gif animation and how to open it? thanks

Correct me if Im wrong but I think that there's no option for auto keypad lock!! How could they miss that?
=>auto keypad lock is missing yes, but just use the left soft button and then * and you will have your phone lock. I never had auto lock and i think i'd find it pretty annoying.

Sometimes when I unlock the phone backlight takes time to be activated!

=>when the phone is locked and you push the left soft button, first only the keypad will be light-activated, then when you push * the screen will be activated as well.
This is so that when you use the phone in your pocket, the screen wouldn't turn on everytime, effecting a lot of unnessecary battery loss.

Voicemail wont change! I go to the tools > Call voicemail, I change the number, I press the 1 from the Now! screen - which is the speed dial for voicemail and it calls the number it was originally assigned on the phone!

=> i changed the number and pushed nr 1, no problem at all. go to menu, tools, voicemail, then option and change number. save it and try again. It should work. I have a newer firmware and it works, so don't worry.

No option to save messages on the memory card!

=> the phone memory is big enough to save all the messages. I don't know how many megabytes of SMS you want to save...

I wish the Now! screen was a bit more flexible! For example, since I dont check emails from my phone I'd like to remove the "Check e-mail" option from the messages plug-in and i'd rather have received, dialed and missed calls in the "Call record" plug-in. Also I'd rather have an option to have the events displayed on the calendar plug-in instead of the appointments!

=> you can't really call this a bug. There are more serious bugs at hand in this moment. Later, options like yours could be taken care of in a newer firmware.
I have already emailed my problems and recommendations to [email][email protected][/email] as requested before, and I also hope that plinkykev will help me out here and forward these notes to Sendo as an insider 🙄

I am a bit concerned about the problems that Im currently experiencing with my phone but the fact that a new firmware is already under development and that Sendo pays so much attention on customer feedback is very encouraging, and I must say that I feel confident that the best is about to get even better 😉

=> the problems you stated are nothing compared to the more serious bugs people encounter with the sendo phone. Try playing a big movie in realone or smartmovie without stuttering image. Try playing WB-amr files on your phone, or listening to amr files just that. even when sometimes somebody calls me the sound cracks like hell. THOSE are real problems. Most of what you mention are practical gadgets. None the less, they could be taken care of in future firmwares.

I'll tell you why not. Because I've just converted a 51,5KB mp3 to wav using nero tools and it came up with a whopping 1,10 MB file!!!

Im not calling this a bug. Im clearly making a recommendation here! the title of the topic is "problems AND recommendations"!

The phone is partly used for business critical applications. For me, it is a business tool! I can't stress out enough how crusial is for me to be able to keep in touch, keep records, make notes tasks and appointments as quickly and efficiently as possible! All these futures such as mp3 players cameras and camcorders come second for me. I dont wanna downplay the importance of the other problems that we are experiencing with some other applications but dont tell me that the problems I stated are nothing. And again, this is not a problem, I never said it was. Im just making some recommendations for future upgrades and I hope Sendo will take this recommendation into consideration very seriously!!

it is highly unlikely that those two buttons would be pressed in that order with the right timing, causing the lock to open.

Personally i think you bought the wrong phone. A P900 or a later P910 would have done the trick for you. That's a REAL business phone.

It's not the same; I can't write/delete messages or assign names to groups etc etc. I know I can do all that from the phone ofcourse, but it's way faster to do these tasks from my computer since my phone is always connected to it when Im home!

No that's not what I mean! Im not talking about this notice. I can really view how many words are left, but just for a second, then it disappears. Anyways, hopefully prob will be solved in the next firmware release.

You didn't understand my example. auto lock is used so that if you forget to lock the phone it automatically locks so that it wont make any accidental calls!!

I aint gonna spend 800 euros to buy a brick :tongue: the X does anything that P800 and P900 does and it has nothing to be jealous of from these models - apart from the screen ofcourse, but hey, that's what makes it a brick really! I dont want you people to think that I don't like this phone. I bought the Sendo X just because I believe it's the best phone out there! I am very happy with my purchase. Im just writing down some of my problems and thoughts to share them with you. That's all 😊

I have compered my opinion with a lot of my Italian friends that have got a Sendo x ,and I can said that the most important BUG is that sometimes ,when my signal is on top ( Wind ) , i can't receive a telephon call and I can only restart my Sendo to receive it !!!

sendo is currently testing firmware solving the receivment problem. And i must say they succeeded

And when will we be participating in Sendo's successful resolution of its firmware?

does anyones phone start to flash on and off when you get an incoming call, mine does, it never used to and my call divert keeps appearing and dissapearing strange and the phone freezes alot so have to turn on and off

wow , that's some serious sh** dude ! I suggest you try the beta firmware

My phone also flashes when I get a call, but it wont come up with any call divert msgs! I suggest you format you phone by pressing and holding the button 5 while switching on the phone. Be careful though coz all your data WILL BE LOST!!! So make sure you make a back up first. That might solve your problem temporarely... SPEEDMAN claims that all these issues regarding phone reception and incoming calls are solved in the new beta firmware, so stay tuned!!

Come on nutzu!! It's not a secret anymore! We all know you wish you had a Sendo X. You systematically trying to convince yourself that X is not the best phone out there! But it aint gonna work!! Dont go so hard on yourself! You don't have to be so jealous! Dont give up hope!! Maybe one day you might be lucky enough to hold one as well! Just be a good boy and maybe Santa will get you one for Xmas 😊

I agree - good build quality and easy to use plus 32MB to play with rather than 6600 measley 6MB.

After sending the list with my probs and recommendations to '[email protected]' I received today this email:

Dear Sendo X users,

I would like to thank all of you for helping Sendo in fixing all the bugs
you are encountering in your phone. We from www.pdatotaal.nl and
www.nieuwemobiel.nl are helping Sendo in all the possible ways of
showing them your mails and lists with bugs. The most bugs we had
were the same in their content. These bugs will be fixed as soon as
possible

Sendo is working hard in making a new software version and upgrade
for you phone. New Beta versions are already tested by several users
and our organisations. It looks good and in the upcoming weeks we
will see the new software version for you all.

In this new version several bugs are fixed and the theme change option
is an extra. It will also be possible to add new made themes to the
phone. The themes are made by a program which can be downloaded
in the upcoming weeks from the Sendo site.

The main bug that shall be fixed is the "bad sound during calling"-bug.
Next to that the phone will be must faster in the menu and the
coverage of the phone on several networks shall also be better.

Please, if you have new bugs let me know and we will send them to
Sendo in the upcoming days.

hey nutzu, i have a new firmware and all the things work, have fun with your mono sound 7610 with abnormal keys. I sent the firmware to some italians and now NONE of them have problems anymore.

for now they says after 2 days that seems reception bug be clear (I hope!), speed men� navigation is improved, more clear audio, but then other little and medium bugs still there are (screen flickering, miss countdown numbers characters writing SMS)...

I hope that official first firmware resolve other little and medium bugs too and reception works perfect! After, Sendo must improved video performance (SmartMovie and Mobiclip anyone?) and free more RAM for applications...

matthia, all of that will be solved by sendo.

i Must say that the bug you mention of mobiclip or smartmovie is NOT a sendo bug.

Sendo has sent some mobiles and development kits to those people to fix all the problems. It's not to sendo to fix applications they didn't even make. Sendo has all the capabilities for smartmovie and mobiclip to work fine, but the applications aren't compatible.
that's why sendo sent the X's to them to fix their applications.
we just have to wait ... 😉
