My buddy won Nokia 9500 commu and he was told that het gets it as one of the first customer users in world in the beginning of november.

Guse

Tri-band Operation
EGSM 900, GSM 1800/1900 and EGSM 850, GSM 1800/1900

from Nokia's Website.

Therefore if you buy it from States or a country on 850Mhz, you cannot use it on Vodafone in the UK?

Is this right?

nokia 9500 is available in oct or nov.
nokia launch 9500 at an price tag of USD 1,015.

Ismail did you notice that the timer on the countdown increased from 9 days to 47 days!?!?! 😮 What gives?

I don't know for wht Nokia is waiting for.
quater system is not good at all
just tell abt the month thats all.

The guy from Nokia at the Pub Meet said end of October, beginning of November. So just a bit more patience.

And what Nokia is waiting for?
Basically they are supplying it to the providers, so that they can release it!
Besides, what would you prefer? A buggy phone now, or a "finished" phone in a month or so!

The quarter system lets them do precisely that: keep delaying while all the time saying "see we told you 4th quarter so don't say we didn't deliver on time"

And Delta, it won't be less buggy in a month. The phone is done and finished a long time ago. They are probably delayed trying to get it to the distributors.

So i think not this time the history repeats of 9210 and 9210i.
Nokia 9500 is complete set.
Right.
I will wait 2 more months but i want my complete satisfaction
i want a complete device
After all a long time waiting for it
if it take some more
Does Not Matter me now.

The 9500 was due to be released in Oct/Nov., but from a reliable source inside Nokia states they found a micro chip error that affected the 7610s and 9500s and are trying to call back any that are out to fix this issue. They did go on to say that it is very likely to have this issue fixed and these released before the end of this year.

Trust me I've worked for Cellone/Cingular for over 6 years now and have built up some respectable relationships with phone manufacturers. I will not provide any fake info. I have been waiting for this phone since June and am very anxious to get it. Im free for questions if i can ever help anyone at [email protected].

It is true that it is coming in this year.
Nokia says 4th quater it means Oct , Nov , Dec

But the above site sayd that 6260 will be in Nov but it relesed
and Nokia 9300 will come in 1st quater of 05 as per Nokia site and the site says in NOv

Bad news:

In the article of Rave's Expo Round Up

http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/features/viewarticle.php?id=107

" Nokia 9300 and 9500
With so many technology focused people around it is not suprising that these phones were receiving a lot of attention. To some people's surpise the Nokia 9300 in particular, thanks mainly to its size, is going to be a massive hit. The 9500 has been pushed back to December, and the 9300 should be available in the first quarter of next year. For people on the road a lot who want to stay connected both of these phones offer a real alternative to laptops. Series 80 phones are a bit like London buses - you wait ages for a new one, and then two come along together and rumour has it there may be more on the way. "

The preview for the 9500 is December!

Not sure if it affects only US or all, but I did hear the 9500 would be out before the end of 2004 from Nokia. Do not know about 9300.. never really asked. I was more interested in 9500. I will note all questions and see if I can get answers from my rep.

Anyway...... so the waiting continues.

People who want to grab it earlier than it is released commericaly:
This is not a good sign as the phone would be a prototype model and it can have bugs, errors and defects, if you buy it now or soon. So wait your horses and buy it when it comes out in your respective countrie's market.

Now we can consider discussing about the new london bus releasing a year or two after the 9500; the 9600. Anyone has ideas? Features it may have?

I am neither bothered about the 9300 as it has quite less features compared to the 9500. I need a camera and etc, so if I upgrade an obsolete 9210i, 9210 I would consider one with alot of functions rather than just a couple. I like the design of the 9300 the outlook, looks better than the 9500 especially the shiny silver casing, pefect! Wish the 9500 will have these casings.

Not to discount any of the comments made on this forum already on release dates (as I'm sure many come from reliable sources), but I called the distributor here in Dubai and asked them whether they had any comments about the 9500 being further delayed. They said that Nokia is still informing them that they will have the phone before the end of October.
