nokia launching 9500 in october i also to a talk to a dealer in dubai.

So you call in BELGIUM to a dealer in Dubai ... Ok :con? ... 😎

Like said before, the consumer is better off with a phone that is ready for the market (no bugs,...) and we've been waiting for a long time, < 2 months we can also wait ...

Only one more remark i make concerning the above , I read a lot here , and the only posts he makes are "parrot" posts (eg. http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum//forum/thread/25059/&page=4).

But hey, like I said last thing i say about this. Just a notice to the moderator to keep an eye...

hey Tovenaar is comments are his opions
he can express himself ALMOST freely

that remark didnt cross the line

Back to the REAL AND INTERESTING topic, I received today an e-mail from expansys.pt (I made a pre-order in August) that ask me to pay (by bank transfer) the 774,95 for the Nokia 9500 plus 128mb card and that they would deliver till 27 of October or maybe sooner!

What do you think?

Well, I don't want to disapoint you guys, but I have a problem:
Don't you think it's a risk to pay 2 weeks in advanced almost 800?
What do you think of Expansys? I never bought in Expansys before.

Great news, Hope you keep us informed!

Oh yeah, Today I was in a nokia service center to update some phones (not in Dubai :icon4: ), they told me that they expect the 9500 this month...

So all we can do for a change is ... WAIT!

I hope it is released around the end of this month, but did anyone notice on the Expo article on the front page?

Rafe suggests that the release date has moved back :icon13:

Nokia 9300 and 9500
With so many technology focused people around it is not suprising that these phones were receiving a lot of attention. To some people's surpise the Nokia 9300 in particular, thanks mainly to its size, is going to be a massive hit. The 9500 has been pushed back to December, and the 9300 should be available in the first quarter of next year. For people on the road a lot who want to stay connected both of these phones offer a real alternative to laptops. Series 80 phones are a bit like London buses - you wait ages for a new one, and then two come along together and rumour has it there may be more on the way.

I Am Not Interested In Spending Money On English.
I Am Spending Money On Learning "dutch" And Spending Too Much
So I Hope "lol" U Understand Wht I Say.
A Quote I Remember In This In Site.
"[b]never Argue With An Ediot They Drag U Down To Their Level And Beat U With Experience".
Its Definetly "u".

Wait for December no, please!

True, I'm not looking forward to another wait, but if you are relying on Expansys to deliver on that date I really wouldn't hold your breath, in the past they have constantly shifted dates around and put them back. They did this with the P800 especially.

Do a search in the forum to see past delivery date troubles from Expansys 😊

But Expansys also sell non UK phones, so they import from other countries and sell them in the UK/US, I personaly wouldn't get an Import phone as I had trouble with my P800 when it broke, SE didn't want to replace it.

Thanks.
I did the seach and it turns out that Expansys is realiable but often misses the deliver dates... I saw some members with troubles with the shipping of SE P800 and Nokia 6800.
Although Expansys called me today to confirm the pre-order, asked me to transfer the money and told me that they actually will receive the 9500 at 27 Oct.
They also told me something new: I would receive the 9500 in the first week of November... yesterday the date for the delivery was the end of October.
I think I'll wait a few days before I transfer the money, till I'm sure the 27 Oct. is real... :frown:

this was just sent to me today from a rep at Nokia:

They were scheduled to ship at the end of this October. Due to the error we figured, we have to place a hold on all orders as well as collect all the samples that were send out to out NMT. The error will be corrected and the mobile will be released to the public by the end of this December 2004.

Thanks for the information, fin05. 😞

I'll cancel the order with expansys right away (they want the transfer - 800 - to keep the order, but December is very far away to give now the money!).

Another wait to December... I'm getting a bit angry, so I think I'll look for others smartphones/PDA to finish this long waiting. Who knows if in December they say it's in February or March like 9300?

Ricky I don't think Nokia has says 4th Quater and Oct is also and Dec is also in 4th quater
and nokia hasn't give us any date they just say that in 4th quater. So it woun't delay it would be surely release before 31st Dec.

Very true!!, all this talk of the October release date was never officially confirmed by Nokia, they have always stated 4th Quater, and if it is released in December then they are still sticking to their release date.

I am very disapointed like the rest of us, but I think i'd prefer to wait for a Communicator that actually worked rather than get one now with serious problems. :icon14:

Me too want a complete trouble free device even if i have to wait it does not matter.
i am sure this time 9210 history will not repeat bcoz nokia is quiet serious abt new 9500.

Assuming that some retailers do release the 9500 now (as the Dubai stores insist it will be out before the end of October), and I do buy it now, won't Nokia replace it if there really turns out to be some kind of problem with the handset? Surely the company won't supply a whole country with handsets if there was something wrong here. I mean we're not talking about samples.
