...but I have never had a problem with it...you can't blame the MP3 player on it's own, there must be something else going on...
Remember I've got two different handsets which I've tried this on (3 if you count one I sent back, and 4 if you count a Voda handset I played with, and specifically did this test on) and none of them have had a problem receiving calls while playing MP3s.
!Speedman@work wrote:just now, because i was listening to mp3 on my phone, i missed a call (at that time i didn't know it), but we have a function on our networks here, that send you an automated sms telling you when somebody called with which number.the messager reached me though, because the mp3 start crackling, then i got the sms saying who called me. i paused the mp3, checked the message, then called that person back with another phone at the office, then wanted start playing mp3 again, and it wouldn't hit off... mp3 blocked totally, couldn't even close it with the taskbar of the nowscreen.
so i rebooted...
this is so buggy ! 😞
Have you thought that your phone may be genuinely faulty?
I have a Vodafone Sendo X and i have never had problems recieving calls when listening to MP3's
My Vodafone X will only occasionally receive calls while playing mp3's but it behaves exactly the same with OggPlayer. It will however take calls when using the camera or camcorder for example. Do different phones have different hardware revisions? :con?

Hi Jarold,
Do you know how these two differ from the standard French firmware? Is it just the pre-configured network settings, or is it more than that?
I'm using a Sendo X bought from Fnac on Orange F and have been experiencing a lot of problems with network connectivity (sometimes the phone cannot receive calls, which is only fixable by a reboot). I was wondering if either of these firmwares may help.
Cheers,
David
Hi David,
In this case from a functionality point of view there are no differences (of course you should load the firmware appropriate for your handset), the differences are related (as you suspected) to the areas that sendo focuses on with regards to mobile phones: personalization & configuration for the particular customer.
This might include:-
Pre-configured WAP/MMS/E-Mail/Internet settings
Start-up & Shut-down animation
Additional or fewer themes
Bundled applications
Additional ringtones/logos or graphics
That is not to say that firmwares for different operators might not have other changes specifically addressing certain requirements.
Hope that helps

Thanks for confirming that, Jarold. Looks like I'll have to wait for the next release for some more bugfixes.
Cheers,
Dave

THERE'S NO NEED TO BE SO SYNICAL!
DUDE!
i wasn't trying to be synical at all !
i was just saying what i said and i meant it. I don't blaim anyone. It's like the release of a pc game, everybody wants it soon, but it's allways later for some reason.
i accepted it .
sry if you misunderstood me
I'd like to see either one of you try to be synical cause I have no idea what that is. Or do you by any chance mean cynical? 😉

Now THAT is what I call being cynical!! 😃
in the best Christmas spirit..."Bah Humbug!"
Ok everybody !!
here I am, a new guy in this forum with a X ( since 1 or 2 weeks)
First of all, this is the 2 nd time I have a X.
I leave the 1st one I had few days after because it was to buggy.
So I can say that's right that sometimes we're not able to receive calls while listening MP3. The only way I've found to fix it is to play mp3 with UltraMP3.
It's also true that the phone is slow (Sendo said 16 MB RAM avail !! where are they ?)
Other bugs for you, someone noticed like me me that the X sends an error when trying to launch a call like :
123p4532 (123 is my Telecom answer machine server numb) You cant put the "P" (by holding # for 3 sec). I hope you will understand what I am trying to explain..
Last point the headset microphone sucks !!!!! (same thing while I try to speak with the phone in "hands free" mode !!!) people complain !!! (It's was same sh*** with my 1st SendoX)
ps: I'd like to know how can I check my OS version. Because I've tried to update my X but the application says that my phone is not plugged.
Any help will be appreciate.
60 Firmware is now available for Uk distribution phones (Carphone Warehouse etc.)
Sales Pack is: 8Y0H-01171-0X001
If you check the software currently in the phone it will identify it as Expansys software, this is correct as the software is the same.
