Not very positive the camera analysis!
Nokia N93 - ask any questions and I'll (try to) answer

Yes. See here: http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum//forum/thread/48811/
:con? Regarding the GSM Arena pictures:
If you sit back a bit, the video is not bad, but when watched closely on my PC screen, it looks a bit 'jumpy'. The file does indeed say 29.xx fps, but is the video really captured in 30 fps - or is there some interpolation involved.
When the cars pass by, it is not very smooth. I know that they pass rapidly and I might be fooled by the rapid updates on my PC LCD compared to the more smooth impression from a TV screen.
The noise in the pictures is horrible, reminds me of the first consumer 8 MP camera, the Sony F818 in high ISO mode. Perhaps there is some malfunction in the review phone - or an unfortunate setting. Can you select e.g. a 'Sports' mode that gives you a fast shutter speed (at the cost of more signal amplificaiton) ?
Regards,
Michael
The videos produced by a camera, whatever is that camera, should be seen in TV. The PCs have too much pixels, and all images seems poor! But that ones, I already saw in Tv, and are not great, either.
I heard that the N93 only supports EDGE and so it should work with Cingular. Anyone have experience using the N93 in the US on Cingular or T-Mobile? How fast is the web experience (not on WiFi)?
TIA
Any idea how much it costs in US??..
And.. Will there be any US provider (T-Mob/Cinglr/???) giving nice contract???
:con?
No VoIP client on the N93, although it does support SIP.
N93 does support EDGE, EDGE is a lot better than standard GPRS but can't compare to 3G at its best.
There are no official plans for a US launch. I imagine it would cost $800 or so.
Camera quality - believe me the operator has a lot to do with how good the pictures look. It is ot as good as a mid range digital camera, but for most purposes (e.g. printing out pictures) it is very good.

Just go to the Nokia Support site and enter your phone no. etc. - settings get delivered as an auto-setup SMS.

Since using my phone there have been a couple of times where the phone has suddenly automatically restarted itself. Has anyone else seen these issues?
Have you checked you are running the latest firmware ?
Did hear a few batches were recalled...

Rafe,
Any ideas when you'll get a chance to add the 2nd part of the N93 Review? Very interested to hear your final conclusion about this phone...
Hi, I have no problem with the n93 using wifi, to connect to my home network, & surf web etc. However the home media centre simply will not recognise the n93. I have allowed the software access on all ports in the speedtouch adsl2+ router. Can someone please help, as this is driving me insane. Thanks in advance
just a thought, why didn't they implement UMA on this phone or am I missing something??

Steve, does your think outside keyboard work with the nokia 3rd edition phones such as the N93? Cheers!
Rafe wrote:Following on from the N91 question thread I'll do my best to answer any questions about the N93 here. We'll have a review in due course which will give a general opinion, but if there's something specific...Read the initial teaser info in the news article.
Rafe,
I notice Nokia have withdrawn the N93 golf edition from their webiste, surrounding fears they may not release it in the UK.. There's speculation that carphonewarehouse is now also not supporting the N93...
Do you have any firm knowledge around the N93 public release ? Seem strange its being release in Europe but delayed in the UK....

Oh kack! How typical would that be 😞 I'd be severely annoyed if that's the case! I can't afford to pay the sim-free cost 😞

I've read my SD after reboot and the file named Index is size different !!! Could someone help me !!!
I'll go crazy !!! Is the correct device dir ? I've tried to write a message with formatted SDcard in my N93 and with card reader i've copied my oldest messages in the same dir.. is it correct ??
Thanks in advance.
Eh? You can't take a system file from Symbian OS 8/S60 2nd Edition and stick it somewhere on a OS 9/S60 3rd Edition device!!!!!!
Just use PC Suite's SMS support to drag and drop the SMS onto your PC and then onto your N93.

Thanks, but where is the SMS support in PC suite software ?? You can only write and send sms.. I mean, all of my messages are in N70 memory card so you cannot view as a message but like a file and there are in System dir (hidden)..
Please help me. ! Anybody knows another software like pc suite with SMS options ?
Regards, Stefano.
Please RTFM 8-)
Hint: drag and drop messages from your 'Nokia phone browser' in Windows Explorer.

:icon4: Hi ,
I received my nokia N93 yesterday 😉
It works great, the only problem is the messaging software does not seem to work.
It tried other Sim cards but no luck. When starting the sms (messaging) software, the screen goes blank for a slip sec (like its about to start the application) but then returns to the normal desktop screen without any error messages.
It looks like the messaging software isn't even installed and I just got a shortcut.
Can anybody help me?
Help appriciated!
Thanks.
