Nokia N93 - ask any questions and I'll (try to) answer

Man that's just unacceptable. The N93 already isn't big on working memory, and there should be no reason to have to install programs there. If I were you, I'd try out the new firmware, and if that fails, have the phone replaced =|

Hope the 20.0.058 firmware fixes yout problem!

yea.. its really unacceptable and frustrating..im gonna send the phone for repair o maybe for a replacement but first im gonna try updating to the latest firmware(20.0.058) to see whether it solves the problem.. but the problem is when is the new firmware update gonna be released?? is it available on NSU yet? the nokia center in my town only has the 11.0.034.. i guess i have to bear with it until the update is available..
thanks for the reply though..

There's some way I can do a soft reset manually? Like what happens when phone crashes sometimes, the screen goes blank and then phone boots up no pin-code needed.

Sometimes there's a need to reboot the device so it would be much easier that way than having to switch it off, then on, then input the pin-code...

The hole on back of phone is not the manual reset button?

Haha no, the hole is the right microphone. Notice the small "R". The left one is in fromt.

As the N93 has two of everything (camera's, screens, joypads), it also has two microphones =D

Not sure if this is the right forum, but i have a problem with my N93 battery. My battery will be zapped of all it's power in less than 24 hrs, and i have to charge it daily. This is definitely not normal. Anybody had similar experiences?

When i first got my phone, it can last 2.5 days easy. Now, it's less than 24 hrs.

I had my phone sent in twice before to fix an intermittent keypad problem, where all my number keys will hang, and only a reset will rescue it, but only for 10 minutes or so. When i got my phone back after 3 days, it came with a new firmware version 20.0.058. I thought yippee - as i read the new firmware is supposed to fix certain stability issues. Well, my phone is definitely more stable as my keypad problem is not so irritating, but still manifests itself ever so often. But the phone battery life is like totally messed up. I switched off bluetooth, wlan, ir, even set the lcd lights to the minimum, still no avail.

Any help is appreciated. Looks like this is a common problem in all the new Nokia phones, particularly the N series? Any ideas?

p/s: i don't even have memory card attached as the Nokia guys at the service centre wants me to test the stability without the mem card, saying it could the card that corrupted the firmware??? duhh... i can't imagine how, but.... And i don't even have any other application installed.

i am having trouble with text messaging with my n93 on the tmobile network in northeast america. is this network problem or phone problem?

I have a N93 with Portuguese from Portugal but the Dictionary is Brazilian Portuguese (witch is were I live).
If I update it I think I'll problably loose this dictionary. Is it true? If so can I install it again. Where can I get it?

My firmware is:

V 10.0.025
12-07-06
RM-55
N93 (01.01)

how can i transfer sms from phone to memory card

any solution

Hi i'm interested about it

I have a N93 phone, this works at 900/1800/1900 gsm network; do you know about software to change the network to 850/900/1800/1900? Quad band.

Thanks

Kinda. Every now and then (like once every two weeks), I'll have loads of charge, then I'll suddenly find my phone switched off with no sign of life. A full recharge and I'm back on track, There's no explanation and it can be very very quick. Like in one hour or something. As it's so infrequent, I just put it down to some freak occurence. I have no idea why it happens.

Sorry

Hi,

I have two problems:

1. There are some applications which i try to uninstall. Unfortunately when i do so either nothing happens or the phone hangs. Any help?

2. The second problem is that each rime a start the phone an installation process is started also and at the end it says that it is not possible to finish the instalation from the SD card. How can i get rid of it? How i can identify the application which the phone tryes to install?

Hey

Is it possible to add new language kits to N93 or do i have to update different region firmware and if i do, how exactly?

Best regards:
AoD

Yes you can

How well does the N93 handle stereo recording?

If someone is standing to the right, will the video recording pick up on that or are the microphones too close together to make a difference?

Yes, stereo's handled pretty well. If you listen to a soundtrack with headphones on, you can certainly appreciate the full sound stage.

Steve

When I connect the cable to output to the TV to my N93i, I get enhancement not supported, it used to work fine until I installed python for series 60.

Any ideas?

How do I reset the phone?

I notice the Camera/Video can't be activated when the phone screen flip to same direction with Lens. The only way to activate the Camera is flip phone screen to opposite direction to Camera Lens. Is it a bug? any way to fix?😡 :icon13:

i just dont think your meant to use that camera to take pictures of yourself... which is rather stupid because given the choice (and seein as its very easily possible with an n93) surely youd rather take a picture of yourself with a 3.2 mega pixel camera instead of a rubbish 0.3mp camera or whatever it is...

Every time when i set a wallpaper and after i shut off the phone then system will change back the default without wallpaper which i set before.

Hi,

does anyone like me hope that we will one day soon see integrated micro projectors in our smartphones for watching video and web-browsing etc ( as well as powerpoint demos)

I am thinking of these kind of things:
www dot microvision dot com/proj.html

Has anyone heard about this kind of thing, or even a laser keyboard projector?

thanks

Philip
