I hear some-where that a memory card battery thing is being tested - From what i hear it comes with a slightly slimmer battery [Lithium Polymer] and the cover will make the phone stick out about 2mm more [the battery cover bit], uses bluetooth [hence takes power from battery] and SHOULD increase run times by 15% [which is a by-effect of using LiPol i presume] - And there going to blumin expensive [about 90] I dont know for sure when there going to be around, there waiting to see if demand increases [they need to sell quite a few before they start profeting appartently] they come in one size only and thats 64mb [Would be good if it used SD cards tho] and comes with an aprox 1mb app that MUST be installed on the phone itself.
+ U need firmware 4.36 or higher i one of the latest ones, hence its not being pushed yet, as not many people have that
Sounds like a pretty neat little thingy... But could you give some more info on who's manufacturing it and so on. If this would mean 64 megs of more memory on my 7650 that would be awesome, I could play doom and snails at the same time!!! 😃 😃 😃

Interesting if true :-? 😃
But might be pretty expensive, maybe even close to that BT hard drive.
And soon you will find out that it will be made redundant be something new comming to the market.....

Close, naah! 😊 Wow,this is awesome,if true.Bluetooth HDD is much worse solution to our memory problem, remember, this is integrated and not bulky,it is still one device. If this is true i'm gonna stick with my 7650 for a very long time.
So what is the probability of that product materializing?
If it comes out I will be the first in-line to buy it.also if it comes out it beats the whole idea of having a 3650.(the chidish looks of the 3650 kills it even with all it's goodies)
anyway manufacturer name and price please.

I'd definitely agree. The one feature that the 7650 was missing was additional memory. If this product becomes reality it would be the greatest thing since pizza.
Second missing feature BT Audio
Bob
I want one....now!! I'd pay 90 quite happily.
Manufactorer - I can remember its some English based company [Will hopefully get more info over time] And price should be around 80-120 [remember tho its BT and 64mbs, so think of a BT device and a 64mb SD card, its not that expensive in comparison]
I dont really care about bluetooth audio. Its not that big of a thing for me.But the memory issue.WOW!!! Lets hope for best.
Yes,the price is quite fair,90 pounds for a bluetooth, battery and an MMC would really nice.
I once heard something about bluetooth HD in this forum but it was never resolved - does it actually work, might be a good temporary measure
It works, but not on the 7650,well,not yet.The 7650 need some kind of device drivers or a bluetooth filemenager in order to access the bluetooth HDD.By the way,the device (The bluetooth HDD) is really bulky.Carrying the Bluetooth HDD and the 7650 would be the same as carrying two device. For now,the bluetooth mmc batery is the best solution to the memory problem.
I agree that the memory is the biggest issue, but BT Audio is a close second, for somone who does a great deal of travelling for work being able to have a BT car kit would be of great use.
This discussion is for a different thread I realise so I will put my issue back on the shelf.
Bob
:turn-l:
the whole thing sounds like vapourware 😞
We both agree that memory is the bigest issue. So like you said, back on the shelf.Bluetooth audio would be nice though.
Wow...WHere to buy 😃 I WANT IT NOW hee 😃
we still aint got exact info on this device.....sound too good to be true. :-?
i remember i started a rumor myself abit like this on the seimens forum. 😃....got loads of people talking. 😃
we need some hard proof please 😃
U want hardproof ehhhh... Hmmm [now trying to think of something] ... Tell u wot... U want me to send u out a beta test unit? u'll have to return it tho 😉 Ha only joking - I might try to snap a pic with my 7650 sometime next week... IF im allowed.

You have one of those units for testing purposes? Or you were joking about that too?
Cool, if you're involved with this product any idea when it'll be ready for the public. i.e. me.
Im not involved with the testing before i get PM'd to death! A friend is involved with this device - Well sorta [hes the cleaner - Kidding] His job is getting and securing suppliers at low costs for the parts needed in various projects and current production 'stuff' and he cant tell me much about it but i got talking with his superiors and they basically told me what i told you... If it does happen it will be aprox 2 months from now - If they are going to release it, it will need a 7650 with 4.36 firmware and they want the 4.36 based phones to get out in the public a bit more so they have a bigger user base... At the moment there just seeing general reaction to price, idea and design [it adds 15g to the phones wieght if i remeber correctly, when i held a non-working sample [no made for size and wieght accuracy it felt a tiny bit heavyer than the standerd battery [which is replaced by this device anyway] so u cant tell much difference] 90-120 ... 90 is being optimistic but 110 is most likely from dealers such as Carphonewarehouse. [and slightly cheaper from online places]
Oh dear.... I think you're all being sucked in. 😃
Well i hope it will be released - If it is then i'll say I told you so! Ha! No seriously fella's - The idea is being researched ... but the problems against it are as follows - not many people [realisticly] have a 7650 and not many of them are 4.36 firmware, in later time wen more people have better firmware there will be companies producing phones bettering the 7650 [Perhaps nokia will even release one] ... there the cons... So i am not definatly saying ANYTHING at this point!
i think if they look to the quantity of the sold 7650's and the people are complaning about the memory, it wil be a good step and maby more people wanna buy this phone in combination with te accesoiry i don't understand why nokia didn't came with such device. they created the phone and know all the thing the 7650 will be capable of.
when it comes to the market for a nice price i'm certanly going to buy!
willumpie.nl
Dont! You never know what Nokia is up to......
ALSO remember this one thing - If they release the add-on Then it will make the 7650 more desirable to buyers - which when your making phones, you dont want competition between your own phones - Nokia may not like this... a good quote i remember is "full bugs, so people will be forced to upgrade for years" - From James Bond, Tomorrow Never Dies ... as some onr posted in this forum, they will make a phone with a major short falling then release another phone that solves it, adds features but still isnt perfect [IE too big, ugly *cough* 3650 *cough*]
A little side note - I think Nokia are pushing these bad features too far - the 7650 is REALLY short on memory and the 3650 is REALLY too HUGE and ugly to consider
Sheesh, am I the only one being hit on the head by huge hints being dropped by MaleBuffy??
You seem to know more than you let on Sir...ve have vays to make you talk! (not even a good bluff..damn 😉 )
I am getting the feeling that Nokia may already be working on something that would make this redundant?
Tell me I'm wrong, and break my heart..
C'mon MaleBuffy...spill the beans if there are any to spill?
