Biggzy wrote:finaly for those of u who do NOT want to use phoenix to do a FW update it is now posible to update a branded firmware to a unbranded FW using nokias online firmware updater, [ download that .txt file, open and read, theres 3 links in there, 1 to nokias update app, and 2 others for changing the fones "product code", anyway have a read and try it out, its easyer than using phoenix

Thanks to everyone for all the info they have given, I have now succesfully installed generic firmware on my Orange branded N80.
Using a product code of 0526966 did not get rid of the Orange branding and kept the latest nokia firmware (4 0623 042) which was already on the phone.
Changing the product code to : 0529378 gave me a previous firmware:
V 4.0632.0.38 This completely removed the orange branding and apps, and even after switching the phone on and off is still working and NO ORANGE BRANDING.
Many thanks for everyones input:rock:     :

After N73 ME update, virgin operator logo goes, replaced by T- Mobile one. what the duche?
Updated my Nokia N73 to the ME edition, all went well, BUT the Virgin logo on the standby screen was replaced with a T mobile one. I can still ring text etc, and when puttin an orange/ o2 sim card in it displays their logos fine. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this, i..e how to replace the logo manually, or do i have to live with it?😮 😮
Just wondering if anyone has attempted a fireware update of a Nokia N95 yet?
I honestly have no clue to any of this but I followed the instructions ok and used the code "0529378". My N80 is on 3 network and is silver one. Upgraded fine and its now V 4.0707.0.7 😊
And I noticed first off I have an internet folder in my menu and a wireless LAN scanner in my tools menu 😉
Have now put my code back to what it says on the phone as people have suggested previously :icon14:
Cheers!

yeah, I thought that the 6680 codes here might mess things up a bit... but not to worry... if you try the 6680 forum with the same question they may be able to help you better. :icon14:

I have a Nokia E65, if I use this method to change it to the generic Euro product code and use the update software as there hasn't been a firmware update as of yet will it detect and switch me over to the generic version of my current firmware?
Thanks
