P800 firmware upgrade

Latest scandinavian is R1B, according to SEs service point across the street from our shop. No norwegian software available as upgrade at this point, though.

Go to the Apps-tab and choose View -> System Information.

According to http//www.p800.it/ (news section) some SE service centers have a new firmware version available.

Bought mine in Philippines with the following software version,

Phone: R1B
Bluetooth: R2C
Organiser (PDA): R1C02
CDA: R1B02

Is there a way to download and uppdate the firmware myself? In that case -Great!, but how? Where?

latest p800 phone version is R1F although very very few service centers around the world already have it. take a look at the spec table bigrob mentioned; i have just updated it: www.clubsonyericsson.com/en/products_p800.htm

Hey lazzy, hearing that youre in Philippines, this might interest you. I just called up SE in Makati and they told me that the R1D is now available for 500bucks. Am gonna have mine upgraded soon 😊

The latest firmware here in Manila is as follows:

Phone: CXC162002 R1D
Bluetooth: CXC12529 R2C (stays the same)
Organiser: CXC162001 R1F01
CDA: CDA162001/5 R1F04

By the way, they're available for free, so Chris (christomas), I don't know who's charging you for the upgrade but... err... I got mine done for free...

another week, another p800 😊

the first one I got included a battery that didn't charge more than half an hour, then it cut off the charging process. after using up the power, the phone went dead because it would never charge again. actually, only the battery was broken (the phone worked ok with another battery). well, I returned everything as a Dead On Arrival and got a new package today. strange thing is, I had R1F (in all norwegian glory) on the first phone, and this one is back to R1B (with swedish/english menus). (opera install and starts ok, but no data is sent thru to it making it a no-go for me. have to search around for possible solutions or upgrade the firmware. current organizer is R1C02).

Hey jackalhead, maybe your P800 came from authorized dealers thats why the upgrade is free. I got mine from overseas. Just had it upgraded and they charged me with 500 bucks, saying its graymarket.

Today an even niewer version was released so I upgraded again. As you can see only the PDA firmware changed :

I managed to find no differences with the previous PDA firmware but may they just fixed some minor software bugs. The phone is as stable as a rock. Oh and I forgot to mention in full Greek translated Symbian OS 7.0!!! 😉
