remove WLAN notification in main screen display

in the main screen, under my calendar entry field I have a notification field 'WLAN scanning off'

How can I remove this from the menu cant find an option to do so anywhere.........

hi,
tools-settings-general-personalisation-stanby mode-active stanby=off.

this clears off icons,calender and wlan scanning.
dont know if you can get rid of wlan scanning on its own.

Yeah, I made a thread asking about this when I got the phone, and you can either have everything off, or everything on :frown: there was a progam I found called Active Standby Plugins, but it wasn't for the N95, but I agree that it does need to be changed!

I think the ability to enable/disable individual active standby components is only available on the business phones, such as the E65. It'd definitely not possible on the N95, yet at least.

It's one of the things that really bug me, how the E Series of phones can have the active standby plugins but the N Series don't. I really dislike the calendar shortcut on the home screen, when it shows upcoming appointments which maybe I don't want shown on the screen of my phone. It surely wouldn't cause too much hassle to have the active standby menu on NSeries phones as well.

I swapped from an E60 because the type was too small (very senior member) and the battery life not great and now I've got this problem with the N95!!!

I have a N80IE with the lastest firmware v5 and the wlan is not showing on my Main screen, whether that is good or bad. I have only two lines. The active standby items in line 1 and the calender entries in line two. How do I get the wlan to show in line 3

Is there some place or method in which we can "complain" or let the Nokia people know that we dont like this particular issue with this icon....perhaps theres like some report or feedback page for N-series users etc. and maybe it can be rectified in a future firmware upgrade..
Anyone know ??

On the "3" variant of the N95 software (at least for scandinavia) the WLAN scanning option on the stand-by screen is removed (probably beacause they want you to use their 3G network instead) 😊
