Change your product code to EURO 1 or 2. There are many messages in this forum teaching how to do it.
thanx but will that void my waranty? and can i cange it to a Asia code..like india?
I`ve just updated to this new firmware with no problems and true phone works well again with no problems. But how do you stop truphone enabling the wireless lan all the time?
I still have the same problem as appeared in 4.070707070707. When I go on certain webpages the internet browser crashes and disconnects. It's so annoying! You have to cancel the page fully loading or it will crash, me thinks it might be something to do with lack of memory. Very disappointing though, as it never happened on eariler firmware versions.
you could be right there about the memory problem, try loading google then click on maps.......... starts to load then bombs out. same with all big web pages, the old firmware seemed better at this. It said out of memory please close other running programs LOL!!!!!!!!
Hi
I have updated my N80ie to new version, when i get a call and answering it i can hear my own voice some times. have some one experienced the same, please let me know is there any work around for this.

Chandu Singh.-
i spotted a bug !! whenever i try to seach a song ,i press on keypad n the phone is getting to long to response...its damn slow...like 30 sec...but that do not affect the contact..😎
I've had the N80 for the past 6 months or so and have updated it everytime a new firmware upgrade was released, usually my battery lasted 12-16 hours 99% of which it was on standby with hardly any use, since the upgrade to this version i have had it on for 37 hours so far with a few calls and msgs and the battery has only dropped 2 bars. This firmware has DEFINATELY made a huge difference.
Has anyone tried this with FOTA yet??
I seem to remember last time I updated with that, I didnt lose any data or applications.
Update isnt available via FOTA, I backed up my data using PC Suite and then restored the backup after the upgrade and it worked fine.
pczaomolina wrote:Please, can anybody check if this new firmware enables N80 A2DP support?
Why is it that this question is asked every time there is a new firmware for the N80. A2DP requires hardware that the N80 simply does not have. No amount of firmware will ever change the physical limitations of the bluetooth module inside the phone. Ever.

Please, be sure about what you talking to don't talk bullshit...

N73 now supports A2DP, AFTER A FIRMWARE UPDATE.
Right?
My N80 still has 3 bars of battery after 56 hours with about 10 short phone calls and about 50 sms, a short game and a few software installations.
Before the upgrade my phone was lucky to last 16 hours with NO usage at all.
I too have noticed the battery level has improved, i think mainly due to the wlan shutting off after every use, and some tweaks to the firmware.
Also dont use startup tone, reduce key sounds, keep power save on, and switch off mobile to save battery, Let it run down to low and then charge as much as possible.
I ran tomtom for 2 hours straight yesterday morning, and the battery dropped 2 blips. I then used the phone a light amount through the day and used tomtom for two hours on my return journey. The battery was pretty dead when i got home, but 4 hours of tomtom use and i was well pleased with that!!!! 😃
Ive found the standby time to be alot better, when using the phone it still chews the power fast especially when using wlan.
I was going to wait for more people to update and see what their opinions were before updating myself, but I couldn't wait and bit the bullet. Overall, I am satisfied with the improvements I've seen so far.
The phone is more responsive when you're navigating through the menus. It's also quicker at opening and closing applications compared to the previous firmware [4.0707.07].
I've used it mainly for browsing the internet so far, and I'm impressed by the built in browser. It has better memory handling now, and can load up large sites with lots of images, such as www[dot]engadget[dot]com. In 4.0707.07, it used to skip most of the images on that site, but now it loads most of the site except for a couple of images on the side. Unfortunately, it seems it still has the same problem as the previous firmwares, where the browser would run out of cache/memory after long periods of browsing and the browser would stop loading images or just close.
I have yet to run into a bug, and overall I am happy to see the noticeable increase in speed. Will report back if anything new arises.
Nobody lost voicecommand??
This s..t update works no better then de s..t update before.😡
Nokia makes a mess of this phone!!
I saw other people talking about problems with voice commands, but my phone is working better with it than before...
I found a bug. The multimedia key stop working after some time using the phone. I need to reboot the phone so it work again. Anybody else?
I don't use voice commands so I can't comment on that, but the multimedia key is working fine for me.
YESSSSSSSS..i finally got it,,as some of you probibaly know i had trouble getting my update because i jus got my replacement N80ie from my insurance...it was loaded with s**t..and after changing my code with NSS.i got it working again..im happy now...but i dont see much diffrence with the new firmware😎
NSU changed this morning to v1.3.84en and still just stays stuck on detecting phone :icon13: 😡

N73 now supports A2DP, AFTER A FIRMWARE UPDATE.Right?
Might I suggest you go back and re-read my post and point out exactly where I was referencing the N73?... I have time, I'll wait....
Oh, you don't see any reference to the N73? That's because I was talking about the N80 you idiot. If you don't believe me, maybe you might like to believe nokia, go take a look at the hardware data sheet for the N80, bluetooth 1.2 - how many of these handsets support A2DP. Go count, you'll only need a couple of fingers, now how many of these support it and don't stutter and sound like utter crap? Zero.
Tried to update my N80 today and it says theyres no update available.:icon13: Im stuck on 4.0623.0.42. I used to be on an orange contract but now on orange PAYGO, anyone know how to get past my current version?

Only you didn't realized that I used N73 as an example...and I'm the idiot after that?
And N73 was Bluetooth 1.2 too. I see that in many sites out there.
But I won't take my time with fights...
Let's wait. If Nokia release a firmware that support A2DP, we're lucky.
Should not be calling anyone an idiot, especiallly when there is software like the MSI Blueplayer that can play back A2DP on the N80.

I had that version on my N80 and had no problems with it, very very stable version of firmware in my opinion, but if you did want to update to the latest firmware you will need to change your product code to a generic one.

The last time I checked... N73 and N73ME and N73 IE ... ALL OF THEM HAVE Bluetooth 2.0 and please can you post a link where it says that N73 (any version) now supports A2DP.

Yes, but what you conveniently fail to mention is that that the MSI Blueplayer works because the range of supported headsets are dependent upon an included 3rd party bluetooth dongle which plugs in to the pop-port.
Hardly a convincing argument now is it?
