Anyone else suffering power loss (causes phone to power OFF!) when closing the grip? I figure the teenie weenie jolt as the grip pushes fully home is enough to shift the battery off its contacts for long enough so that the phone gives up the ghost...
I can reproduce this 'fault' 100% of the time now and it's really beginning to get on my nipples
Suffice to say I've now chopped up an old credit card and slipped it down between the battery and casework so there is no play whatsoever.
Grrrrr

None here either. Triple Grrr?
My 7650 is in the NSC and being repaired so I can't tell...
Many many many Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs!!!
i also have my phone in the shop. my bluetooth got busted! (Bluetooth System Error!), but i never got this problem either in the past. 😃

I've not had that with a 7650, but I did with a 3330. My solution was quite similar to yours 😉

I have had this problem since last October - the power gets lost anyway, I am not sure it is the contacts though, since the power loss can occur at any time - when on the phone, using the stick shift or just when looking at the thing.
Anyway, it is now back in the NSC for the 3rd or 4th time. I have basically given up on the phone for the moment (rediscovering the joys of a 9210 which now has 128MB of memory thanks to a new card).
Lets wait and see if Nokia replace this one or just send it back for the same problem to re-occur. I will check the battery connections tho if it happens again.
