For all you N73 ME owners, there is a new firmware (finally) for you guys to enjoy. Start up your NSU and grab it.

Not too sure if all product codes have been updated or not so if yours doesn't update, give it a few days and try again.

is this real? well i think its not...For N73 ME? hmmm....i dont believe it but if im wrong please share the product code.

First to upgrade please find out:

a: if the ME now has A2DP.
b: if the ME still supports GPS bluetooth connectivity (with receivers <2.0 standard) unlike the 4.0276 firmware we've all been having problems with.

If so - I'm making my N73 an ME again!

😊

heres a list of codes that dont work
0539239
0537289
0539343
0539346
0539352
0545132
0539193
0539207

there, you got their attentions..

i dont understand mate

there is 100% new firmware out i checked the nokia forums

still no joy think i might give up now ive tryed every code for music edition i could find so any1 else thinking of doing the same DONT BOTHER LOL

anyways this version iam using v4.0726.2.0.1 isnt so bad apart fro the backwards compatabillity issue with earlier bluetooth versions ie v1 v1.1 v1.2 etc

its quite stable and smooth and the new music edition one dosent have any great whistles and bells worth going for that we know about yet.anyways knowing nokia theyve probably messed up another feature in this new music edition firmware lol

still though i bet theres quite a few peeps out there wanting it to see if it fixes the backwards compatabillity issue with the bluetooth so it could be a great firmware

one things for sure though it aint on the nokia site yet lol

i know ive spent enough hours on it looking

oh and tha pic the guy has posted dosent mean it is on his phone the same pic has been posted by a different user on the nokia discussions board 😊 ha ha busted mate

so yes it does look like he has us going on a wild firmware goose chase--

well for now anyway, as it cant be long before nokia release one for sure

or maybe im just plain wrong

or 30. i know thats why i thought he was lying when he said it,...i havent installed it...i fell asleep last night while installing PC suite...

f it...i get an error while flashing it...i searched whats going on and they say the firmware update i got is locked and only nokia ppl can use it...whatever...

if it's true, why all the secrets?
so that means, it's just an attention maker doin it..
having us guessing about this...
give us proof or stop lying...
nerd!

i dont know if its bogus or not but i know i was able to install it on xp and was able to see it on phoenix...but still not clear why its not available on NSU tho.

nearly there praying i dont end up with a brick lol 1st time ive used phoneix to get back soon guys

i got a n73 me and i've been wondering if there is any advantage over the regular n73 since the regular n73 firmware has now the same music player like the me.

it seems the n73 gets updated more often than the me version and thats kinda nice

well the newest regular n73 firmware is a lot faster and more options for video calling settings, same music player with ME, stereo bluetooth, over the air fw update, holding the multimedia button will go directly to music player (mine goes to radio - i dont know why), updated real player, internet browser checkbox bug fixed, no built-in snake (but u can download it from nokia dot com). For me the best part of it is that its now a lot faster.

I agree. Seems like the only difference is that the player in N73ME goes straight to the last song played, whereas in N73 it goes to the menu first. Big deal.
Changed my N73ME to Standard N73 to get latest firmware & have been very happy with it. Lets see what 'buxz777' says.

Actually if you keep the music player application in the background you will get the same with n73ME.

buxz777:
What procedure did you use to upgrade the firmware to the file you linked to in an earlier post?
I can access the downloaded firmware via NSS but too afraid to click the flash button.

Can you post detailed instructions on going about it in NSS?
My current FW is 3.0705.1.0.31 with 0539346 Product Code
I'd like to enable the A2DP profile for my unit to use with A2DP headsets

hiya guys
my flash didnt go to well woops i only try as i have insurance and can get ne wphone next day for 10 pounds i like playing around with phones and thought id give it ago

basically to the guy ive quoted the new firmware you have put on your phone is not backwards compatible with lower bluetooth versions so its not so great (ie bluetooth versions 1.0 1.1 1.2 etc etc) many people have had issues here and on the nokia site --- so it might work ok but try running tomtom 6 of a older bluetooth gps device youll be lucky if it works

ive heard that this new firmware has all the versions of the new normal v4 firmware ie added bluetooth stereo etc etc ive also heard that it sorts out the problem with backwards bluetooth compatabillity this last one is to be confirmed but my friend has flashed his phone with it and it works ok i havent been able to try it with lower bluetooth versions so cant report on that but my mates very happy with it. ill be checking file compression on photos when i see him next

the most stable version i have found for the n73 is the music edition

v3.0705.1.0.31 26-01-2007 rm133 nokia n73 (02)

works a treat likes my 4gb mem card better then other ive tryed only thing its missing is bluetooth stereo support

i think ill wait a bit before i can actually see what my mates runs like

OH I ALLMOST FORGOT TO THE GUY IVE QUOTED THAT ALSO THINKS THIS NEW V4 NORMAL N73 FIRMWARE ROCKS HAVE YOU SEEN THE PICTURE QUALITY NOKIA HAVE MADE IT WORSE -- SLIGHLTY BETTER IN NIGHT MODE IT SEEMS BUT NOT MUCH-- BUT THE FILE COMPRESSION IS LOADS TO MUCH FOR A 3.2 MP

LOOK AT THE FILE SIZE IT WILL BE BETWEEN 350KB AND 500 MAX I TOOK A PICTURE ON THE N73 MUSIC EDITION FIRMWARE LATEST V3 AND THE FILE SIZE WAS 712 KB

WHEN I PUT THE PICTURES ON THE COMPUTER YOU COULD TELL THE DIFFERENCE ALOT MORE THEN YOU COULD ON THE PHONE

SO NO BACKWARDS COMPATABLIITY WITH LOWER BLUETOOTH VERSIONS AND A BIGGER PHOTO COMPRESSION RATIO ON PICTURES NOT GREAT FOR A NEW FIRMWARE RELEASE LOL

HOPE THE NEW MUSIC ONE HAS HAD MORE THOUGHT AND TIME PLOUGHED INTO IT

FOR THOSE INTRESTED I FLASHED USING PHONEIX 2006 IVE HEARD THAT YOU SHOULD USE PHONEIX 2007 FOR NEW FIRMWARES WOULD MAKE SENSE AS THIS FIRMWARE WAS MADE IT 2007

AS FOR FLASHING WITH NSS IAM NOT SURE YOU CAN DO THAT MATE I THINK YOU NEED AN EXTERNAL BOX AND RUN THAT THROUGH NSS I MIGHT BE WRONG

ANY1 WHS GONNA UPGRADE DO SOME RESEARCH 1ST NEW FIRMWARE DOSENT ALLWAYS MEAN BETTER STUFF

ANYWAYS GUYS BE CAREFULL UNLESS YOU HAVE INSURANCE LOL 😊 EASILY WORTH THE 5 POUNDS I PAY A MONTH 😊
