This is the best one (you're sh*tting me!): http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=MwrE5UCUf7s

Anyway, back on topic. The green light on the light sabre is a nice touch and it works much better but it is still far too loud.

BWAHAHAHAHAH....... :icon14:

Good stuff, he's nuts... sorry for mixing you up with him! 😉 The ringtone one is my fav, and the camera one! 'WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!!! ARE YOU GAY!?'

... having to supress laughter in office is making it even more funny! HHAHAHAH (The developers like their quiet!)

Okay i hope im not being stupid here but when i try and install it all i get is

"Certificate Error. Contact the application supplier"

N95 8-GB ?????

In the app. manager settings, set software installation to all, online certif. check to off and see if that works?

Dont have an 8GB so cant be sure.

Durrr!! So obvious but then its usually the obvious things! Works a charm now!

Thank you dude!xxxxx

Mad as it may seem, it works more realistically if you hold the phone with two hands, like a 'real' lightsabre.

I should get out more. Or, indeed, at all.

I only realised this after reading your post because, before that, I was always holding it like a 'real' lightsabre!
I think I need to get out more

OK, wish list

1. Volume control. I've already had stern looks from management whilst demo'ing in the office

2. Ability to choose when it has "impact" noise. Swishing through the air and "hitting something mid flow might be realistic after some CGI but trying to strike things and just getting a "whosh" loses some of the impact.

Am I being too fussy over this? Maybe I need to get out more.

I agree with your wish list. It is way too loud so a volume control would be ace. Does the hitting noise result from certain input or is it just a random mix of the whooshing and hitting?

Also, the ability to choose a colour (red, blue or green) would be funky and it should stay on, not flash.

Agree with colour choice but the light needs to flash - that's the energy beam pulsing / fluctuating

As far as I can tell the clash noise is just random. If it could be made to only clash with a sudden stop rather then when swinging it would be more realistic (or as realistic as a phone light sabre can be 😊 ).

Like you said, a volume control would be good too as it's REALLY loud. Not so bad when you're messing about in a pub but not so good in the office! I'd also like to see the text disappear once you have switched the light sabre on so you just have the coloured screen (with red option too).

I love how picky we all are 😊
They are good suggestions though and would make a great app, perfect!

New Version 1.2 addresses the wish list -

Uses sensor API
More Vroom less Tish
Volume control
Sensitivity tweaks and ..
Dark side/light side option

Get it here -> Clicky (Thanks to S60.com)

Hmm, the 'volume control' is not great, it gives you two options 'burst ear drums' (this is like it was in previous versions) and 'medium' which is still pretty loud!
You can now choose between red or green though, which is cool.

Here are some more wish list items 😃

Better volume control, or at least a third setting which is quieter.
The ability to 'start' the app by sliding open the phone instead of pressing ok 😃 Imagine that

HAHAHAHA, you'd have to open it REALLY slowly tho to take the length of sound clip from the app to match the sliders short track...

Has anyone told the developer we are chatting about his app here??

And then - if as well as flashing green, it could send out an IR code to turn off any iphone in proximity ....... but ... then, iphones don't have IR do they?

Silly idea anyway.

Would be good to get him in here, so we can tell him how awesome this is

Interestingly you're not the only one thinking about this. Samir (RotateME) has asked for this too, along with switching it off by shutting the slider.

Hi there,

I personally think, the 1.1 Version was better regarding sensibility / realism.
1.2 is a little more sluggish, not as 1.0, but somewhere inbetween.

Hi , thanks for all the suggestions hopefully there's a few in the new release. V1.2 was screwed up by me trying to support the 5500 there was a common API for both but it supplied less data to the N95 for velocity so v1.3 goes back to the old N95_Acceleromter and should be the same sensitivity as 1.1.

Light Sabre V1.3
================
N95 series only,
please ensure you have the N95 Acceleromter sis file installed

New Features:
o Opening and closing Slider turns sabre on and off
o Press any number key for sabre hit
o More fx samples for swings
o More Vrumms less Tishes
o Press left for medium vol right for Max vol
o Press up for dark side , down for light side
o Back on the old N95 acceleromter API so more sensitive again. (sorry no 5500)
