FileExplorer 1.07 released

Hi,

I release today the FileExplorer V1.07.
like usual, thanks to everybody for your comments, suggestions, encouragements ....

FExplorer V1.07 is available thru the official site at www.gosymbian.com

what's new :

* the info-boxes of the drives and files properties have been
enhanced, also added the hidden,archive,r/o and system
attributes of the files and the 3 UID's.

* the restart function is, now, in a phone menu which gives
also the info about the phone (imei, firmware version and
date).

* in the cut/copy/paste system, a dialog box appears in the
paste command if the file already exists to confirms its
replacement.

* when asking for 'the properties' on a folder, it gives the
number of sub-folers and the number of files under the
current folder.

* when copying a file, the attributes (of the destination) are
reset (eg: R/O is off if the source was on); this allows to
copy files from the z: drive and delete them after.

* when renaming a file, the old filename is displayed in the
rename dialog box

* when a 'search for files' is performed from the root, the
'edit' menu is activated

* 'enter' on a drive causes an enter on this drive and 'left
key' on a drive causes to display the properties box of this
drive.

bugs fix :

* when starting FExplorer, the last application running in
memory (except the telephone) was killed.

* after a 'files search', the path displayed was not correct
and the copy/paste functions had some problems.

This gonna be amazing! ... 😃

And after that you can sell this APP in arround $100 😃
and don't care... i am sure that you will sell A LOT OF APPS!!! 😃

Hi Dom,

I think its helpful if u put that option, maybe its not that so useful, but if your deleting, copy/pasting numbers of files, well, its going to save you the time and effort.

But not sure on really how much important is this option going to be.. 😃

Superb!!! Im not a user, But I think in 1.08 I mightbe!!! There is one thing I would like, in seleQ it tells you how big each file is... Very handy! If you need a beta tester! im here for ya!

go to 'file', 'properties' and you'll get the size of the current selected file - is this what you expect with '...how big each file is' ???

I guess Zipper means to see the size of the files at one glance in the list view, not looking at each file's individual properties.

This is exactly the reason why I am not using FE either. At least for now. Considering the limited space the 7650 offers, file size matters and it is the most important information. I am sure version 1.08 will have it, right? 😉

I appologise, this is what I meant, I didnt explain it right! Thats one of the only reasons im still using seleQ

Hey there Domi.

Just one question, does your app support opening of .zip files? I have a zip app from WildPalm and when I open it though SeleQ, there's an error.

Hi Kobe24,

When I 'open a file', I just ask the operating system to do it according to the type of the file registered in the OS, I mean, if there is no application registered to open a file, you get an error (a little bit like windows do it - if winzip -or other- is not installed, you can't open a file with the extension zip); in fact it could be better to get a message like 'Can't open - no application associated'.

i think it might not be that much necessary but it will add ease to what you're doing. 8)

aside from the file size, i think its great too if we can see what file type it is... 😊

just some suggestions to help u out on ur 1.08 😊 im using your FE coz it takes only small amount of mem and, the neccesary things are there, so its practical unlike seleq which is quite big, but has lots of extras. still a great apps too.

Hi, thanks,

I'm working to the function to change the operator logo and the background image - the only thing I need is to catch the MCC and MNC (from now, I'm not yet find it ..) but I would try to keep the small size and the speed (I find SeleQ a little bit slow in displaying ... but great app 😉 !!)

Humm, pidz111, what do you mean with 'file type' 😮ops: ? the extension of the file appears in the list box - it's the file type :roll:

By the way I have bought SeleQ also !!! before starting the development of FExpl.
