As for messing up the battery I would be quite happy to do that, but have no idea were to start, When JIC (http//www.cellularrepairs.co.uk) release to new DCT-4 stuff I think it will be in with that (even if the phone is DCT-3) some I should beable to do it with that, have about 3 other people testing this and that as a group but just can't stop the epoc from starting, apart from that we have all the files needed.
New Firmware ! (4.24)

I remember reading somewhere that DCT-4 software won't work with DCT-3 phones. I'd say it's a safer bet to stick with a known working DCT-3 solution (hw and sw).
About the battery, if you have a copy of the service manual, the pinouts for the battery connector are somewhere in the system module description. So if you could pop open the battery and change the pullup resistor in there, it should (in theory!) work.
But of course, I'm no expert...so it might be best to check with someone who is! ![]()
With in six months I should be able to do it as JIC are releaseing stuff for the 9210.

A message specially for me? I'm honoured ![]()
The current SW version for the 9210 is 4.13. You can do the upgrade at Zitron (Plaza Berjaya only), MultiLink (MidValley & Jln. Pinang) or Sapura (no idea where they are).
Non-authorised phones cost RM100 to upgraded. If you don't mind the crowds and a long wait, go to Zitron. If you go to MultiLink the place is usually empty, and they'll burn you a copy of the latest CD (bring a CD-R along). Should take about 30-45 minutes.
Note I'm assuming you're in KL. If you aren't, make a trip here - no one else upgrades 9210s besides these four places!
Thanks for your information. My 9210 is warranty by Multilink but i don't have the warranty card coz my 9210 is secondhand one...But still in warranty period. Can i still upgrade the new SW version without the warranty card?Or any charges? (Sorry if i asked you too many questions) Anyway, thanks again for your helpfull informations. ![]()
Hi I can now a)unlock the 9210 b) get them upgraded as well.
U can still do it even though u dont have the warranty card... as long as u still have the multilink sticker attached on your 9210... (it also has the expiry date..)
but of course u have to do this at multilink itself at midvalley...

Gosh, never knew there were so many Malaysians on this forum.... ![]()
As long as the sticker shows that the phone should be within the warrany period, you can take it to any of the authorised distributors. Some NPCs are crabby and ask for the warranty card, but Plaza Berjaya couldn't care less.
But I'd go to MultiLink anyday for upgrades....at least you don't have to take a number and queue forever like at Zitron! I don't know of anyone who's gone to Sapura, so I'm still wondering about their service....
Maybe we should start up a user's group so I have somewhere else to whine whenever my 9210 crashes! ![]()
Wow....i never thought that i can meet so many Malaysians in this forums.![]()
