WOW - make the keypad much easyer to read actually - white led on white keys makes them very hard to read in daylight.
I'm getting a blue marker pen out on my LED's !!!
i just brought my Nokia 3650 in Melbourne. Australia yesterday, and it came with blue LED's and a 64MB MMC in the sales package, it also came with firmware 2.50...and i called Nokia and asked them what the latest software version availble is and she said 3.01....
regards Anthony

It sounds like BS.. but that is more than likely just my ego kicking in because I bought mine from Singapore for $850 as well but only came with a 16meg MMC :x
Out of interest which Optus Shop and how much photos can you store with 64 meg MMC (I've noticed the display amount is different to the equation which they provide in the manual of 22 per 1meg).
.. but to add to the BS argument I rang Nokia shop yesterday afternoon to inquire about the phones availability in Australia and they said the phone is 'not released' yet and if I have one (at the time I thought I had a Chinese one because the box was in Chinese so I was asking to change to English..) and they said 'not possible until phone is released'.
I have Version 2-41; 17-01-2003.
But seriously dude; that sounds like BS because;
1. The phone will definitely cost more than $850aud if its $850sing; Nokia always charges us Aussies at least 1.4x more
2. 64mb MMC?
3. I've never heard of version 2.5; care to say what date? (press *#00#)
.. and yes I do have one; and its in English. It was reflashed in Singapore.

You're just angry cause you will never have the phone, sad boy. Reading all those reviews and seeing all those pictures but you will never have it. And now you're screaming at me. You wanted us to believe that you have it, but you missed one detail. It does not come with an 64MB MMC, it comes with an 16MB. too bad. And you say that Holland is the shit end of the world? Take a look at a map and see where australia lies you fool. get a life.
Australia is the best country in the world! Don't knock it. However I can understand that you are just being defensive.
Yes, this guy is probably ful of bs BUT it doesn't seem to be that unrealistic.
2.50 DOES exist.
3650 WILL be about $850 AU.
It could be at an Optus Shop however this is unlikely. Mobile Stop say that they should have it by the 19th of March and that it will be $867 (you can preorder it now). mobilestop.com.au
As for the 64mb memory card, this is also unlikely but not impossible. For all you know it could be a promotion that is being run. Who knows???
While this guy is probably not telling the truth it COULD be true.
i heard a lot of people from australia say it has not been released there, and it does NOT come with an 64 mb mmc. I got nothing against australia, but that guy just pisses me off. While it is clear that he is not telling the truth.
I know I have no factual basis but I really doubt it'll be anything less than $1000 at launch. For one, this is Nokia's "latest" camera & videophone meaning there'll be masses of advertising as well.
Yes it probably will be sold at Optus (as they have a tendency to get everything off their parent Singtel) but it will DEFINITELY (imo) be more than $1000. Vodafone estimated $1099; but I'm estimating around the $999 mark (I know its not more than $1000 but close enough).
I bet this guy cannot tell us what version his 2.5 was made~ or even the names of the languages which are available in the English release of 3650. If he can do that minor challenge then I'll respect him a lot more.
Sorry, but you doubters are mostly wrong 😃
The v.2.50 is the "official first" release version.
The 64Mb MMC is packaged with some operators first promotional 3650's.
And its price will be the same as the one with 16Mb.
That I dont know is, what is the time it is released in Australia...
In Finland it is in allmost all the shops. 😃 :P
Could you please tell us how much does it cost in euros, in Finland ????
(sim free)
[quote="GPS"]Could you please tell us how much does it cost in euros, in Finland ????

Every phone sold in finland is SIM free 😃 which is nice.
Lowest i could find is 450euros.
But without discounts it is 529euros.
7650 is 549euros.
My uncle was in Helsinki - Finland to his wife two weeks ago......
but he had to come back for his work.....
Damn...
He sais, that you have a fantastic country.......
On christmas 2003, maybe i will come there, with my wife(free stay, free food), why not?
JyriK have you ever been in GREECE?
Yeah, i have been in greece, really really nice country too 😃

Seremify sorry but you're wrong about the price. I'm not saying that the other guy is telling the truth BUT i don't think we can write him off like that.
The price when it comes out at mobile stop (http://www.mobilestop.com.au) will be $867. http://www.mobilenetwork.com.au has it for $992. Both include GST. Vodafone's prices are often inflated so you can't really go by that.
An article in The Age says that it will sell for around $900 http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2003/01/31/1043804514766.html . "3650 model - expected to sell for about $900."
Thats enough proof for the price but here's proof that that guy could've bought it from an optus shop.
http://www3.optus.com.au/newsroom/1,1450,514,00.html
"Also on sale from March 5 will be two new video capable handsets, the Sony Ericsson P800 and the Nokia 3650 which also has the ability to record video."
And yet mor proof of the sub $1000 price tag. "The Nokia 3650 can be purchased outright for $929."
This article is pretty interesting as it talks about how Optus has introduced video news updates from Channel 7 news at 75c per video and the good news is that with the release of the phones comes the capability to send and recieve video clips using MMS (max 100kb tho).
I stand corrected but today I visited the local Optus (and Voda and Telstra) shops and none of them had 3650 for sale; only on display in Voda as a dummy phone saying its not out. The Voda guy was quite amazed as he played around with my camera and had his 7650~
I know this is also off-topic in a sense; but I'd also like to say OPTUS is BS. I support Singtel all the way; but seriously their Optus is bullcrap. The reception is by far the worse; Vodafone IMO is better than Telstra's Mobilenet reception but then thats just where I am.. There is 0 Optus reception at my school; some of the school is Mobilenet; but most of it is covered by Voda.
it all depends on where you live. I'm on the northern beaches of sydney and i'm on Optus prepaid. I get great reception (compared with both telstra and vodafone) but at peak times i get this "There are no lines to the area you are calling." This is VERY annoying as i have repeatly attemped to make calls for more than 30 minutes without success.
btw i'm the guy who posted all those links above (finally bothered to sign up)
Haha~ well i haven't had any problems like that with either Telstra or Voda; but in Baulko (my school) Telstra reception sucks; Optus reception is nonexistant but Voda seems pretty good. But I have noticed that clarity is superior on Telstra (if I get coverage..)~
also welcome aboard; even though i'm pretty new myself. welcome ^__^

Hi,
Mine is version 2.50 (13-02-2003)
😉 i bought it here in Malaysia for around USD400...
Can I ask how much you paid for in RM? Is it English?
(maybe I should get my f/w updated)
😃 its around RM1550 - RM1600...
The phone is english but the manuals in malay...
The best part is that i can actually choose any color i want...
p/s: 😉 i chosed the darkblue as it matches the blue-led keypad...
WOW!!! that is sooo COOL!!! i'm still waiting for it to b released in singapore 😞
blue led ... then it must b the official release ... sigh ... i want one now!!! 😊
where did u buy it? maybe i should get one when i'm back in melaka ... hehe 😃
Yeah u should get it here in Malaysia...
I have a friend which bought it 3 weeks ago from Singapore...
The phone is in silver with white-led keypads...
i tot it was cool at that time but not anymore after i got mine...
blue-led is soooo damn cool!!! plus the earlier version does not recognise 3650 as 3650 during infrared transferation... it stated 7650... and i tot that sucks too...
but mine being official... is just purrrrfect.
😉 moral of the story: dont get the whiteled version and good things come to those who waits. hehehe...
I lifted my keypad and coloured it blue on the translucent rubber - looks just the same now!!
Honestly it does!!
😃
