My Firmware version 4.39 experience

26 replies · 7,750 views · Started 06 March 2003

Hi all,

I have upgraded my firmware version 3.16 to 4.39 in Nokia Service last week. After many calls and gprs connection and also incoming mail services, my log file nearly get full, and also my received and dialed call logs too.

The first thing that I like is the speed of opening log files. It is incredible fast.... 😃
I have never wait while listing of items in logs. It opens immediately... wow...8)

I want to share all of you.. It is time to go to Nokia Service..

byes..

Same here, I will have an opportunity to go to a NSC in April (my local one is closed on Saturdays and I am away during the week until then).

I will be upgrading then.

Bob

Magic, I agree

4.39 is much better than 3.16. You only realize how much once you've upgraded

What I've experienced with 4.39 since my upgrade is the noise that comes thru my headfones. There is no more radio static being heard after the upgrade, or very little. =)

One more thing;

I replaced my old battery with the new one, and after v4.39, I use my phone with the same manner, I dont know whether the new wersion contains new better battery management or not but my battery life is increased up to 3 days!!! 😃 Before with my old battery and v3.16, it was 1 day!!
When I bought my phone first, I have never satisfy to use my phone over 1.5-2 days with one charge.

I assume that somethings are changed with new version in the name of the battery management... 8)

I think to enable BT Audio you will need to upgrade to the 7650i next month, BT Audio requires a hardware change not just software.
there will be no 7650i. It's a hoax
How do you know exactly that there will be no 7650i or that this is a hoax?

im from the Kent in the uk does anyone know the closest service center to get my phone upgraded??
Can anyone confirm that the latest version enables bluetooth audio?
Omar 4.39 does not enable BT Audio. It seems like BT audio is a hardware problem and can't corrected by a firmware upgrade. Either that or Nokia wants us to buy another phone.

To use BT Audio you need an adapter connected to your 7650. Plantronics and Jabra makes these adapters.

Search the forums for plantronics or Jabra and you will find links to sites.

Jabra might be available soon in UK, but Plantronics only available in North America.

This is what 4.39 does......

Eeeek! I cannot use Seleq to browse my Images or Images_tn folder anymore since upgrading to 4.39 !!!!

Seleq crashes - App Closed SystemExplorer USER 12

I've tried reinstalling to no avail 😞

To me, V4.39 is great

Three things I got from it,

1. Op logo - V3.12 can not change op logo if there is op logo in SIM, V4.39 solve the problem
2. Color Palette - extended from 3 to 6, I love it so much
3. Speed - better speed

😃 😃 😃 😃 😃 😃

but

It eat up more memory.

I have finally upgraded yesterday. It took the service 1 hour and nearly 10 $
I too have 4.39 but haven't noticed anything..yet.

What I mean is that after using Palette Extender Software, you will have it. I don't mean that u will have it automatically. This software doesn't work on V3.12.

I installed Palette Extender 1.01 - doesn't work on 4.39 .. I'll go looking for a new version.

*edit*

New version 1.02 from Handago works great!

I am glad it works 😉

also, it works for 3650 too! 😉

Trod, where did you get such detailed info???

Apparantly everyone looks satisfied with the upgrade. What about installed software, games, apps, contacts, filed SMS, etc. is that all in PC suite backup?

Do you guys confirm you get your 7650 exactly the same after upgrade, no loss whatsoever? If yes, how to do?...I've had bad experiences with other Nokia HS

thanks

Everything except opLogo and java apps

Yes, but better to take backup incase something goes wrong. 😃
