Hmmmmmm
I just wonder everyone here can say whatever he or she wants why?? Because you an in the safety of your home without the fear that some one could knock the door in the next minute and you will never see your family again!!! Try living with that for your whole life!!! That is exactly what is happening to Iraqis.
With all do respect to everyone here . YOU would not be affected by this war . The main victims would be the Iraqi people RIGHT? So why dont anyone listen to what the Iraqi people say???? Why dont you bother to see what THEY WANT! Not what you want?
You can talk of peace all what you want . But you will never bring this peace to the Iraqi people as long as Saddam exist .
For the Iraqis their GOAL has always the removal of Saddam the whole world saw it in 1991 (after the Gulf War) and can see it now but I case no one bothers to listen to the Iraqi people WHY? Because they are irrelevant??? Come on people the Iraqis are the center of this and any one who knows the facts would now that the issue of revolution is not an option in Iraq so outside intervention?
You might argue otherwise and that the world is filled with dictators I agree but tell me how many dictator used Chemical gases against his own people how many dictator kills the opposition, their families and their neighbors for not turning him in. how many dictators do all kinds of crimes and thinks he can get away with it.

The whole peace thing is being viewed by Saddam as a support for him!!! Whether you like it or not .. this is how Saddam is seeing this dont believe me ... try watching Iraq TV!!!

Saddam believes that any day he stays in power is a victory for him how many of you watched his interview with Dan Rather??? Saddam really thinks that he won Desert Strom why?? Because he is the ONLY one who is still in power while all the others were gone? Examples? George Bush (the Father) Margret Thatcher, John Major, Francious Mitterand, Carlos Minem, Yithaz Shamir and the list goes on and on. Saddam is the only one who is still in power .. so in his own words. He won over the coalition.!!!

Bigbang has a point there. This all should be about what the Iraqi people want. But it is terribly difficult to know at the other end of the world what they truly want. Like Bigbang said earlier, they can't even voice their hopes because of fear. So how are we to know? And as in any nation there probably are conflicting interests also within Iraq. :-?

I wish there was a way to oppose the war and at the same time support bringing down Saddam. I've sometimes wondered (maybe I've seen too many Bond movies...) how hard can it be to get rid of one man? Presidents and prime ministers etc are shot to death in front of tv cameras practically, so what's the problem? Or alternatively, is there really no revolutional movement within Iraq that could be supported from the outside? 😮

I am tired of this discussion. If the iraqis people want this war, then they should have it. If they don't mind of u.S. Bombs flying above their heads then they deserve to die by them. Maybe i am too young to understand, but in my life i don't like to wait from the others in order to obtain sth.. I like to win it my self. I don't like to give up on the difficulties. I believe that if sth doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger. From all the difficult situations of my life i have gained many experiences. I am a proud person, but that's maybe because i am too young and i have my whole life waiting ahead... And this is just my opinion. And i really respect every other opinion even if i am against it.

Just a quick response because I post this from my phone callin on Roaming. I agree that Sadam has to be removed, but I dont agree with the term "using force" which basicaly is another word for WAR. There are other ways.....its called UN.

Now that you mentioned her, LINK. A long time has passed since her last post. Maybe she is on vacation with zeus. 😉

Hello there people
I guess everyone has his own viewpoint on what should happen . And everyone should respect the other sides point of view.
Well .. let me tell you this I am in Kuwait (in case any one missed that) I was with British forces from the 7th Armoured Brigade First Fusiliers Battle Group couple of days ago these young lads were desperate for support from back home .. wait wait .. before jumping on my back and saying well they should not be there in the first place well I spoke to them .. many of them in the early 20s and they believe that they have a duty here and they wished from more support from the British public it gives them a moral support Ok fine you might be against war .. but those are British lads in far away land .. and they feel lonely!
Sorry this might sound obscure for so many people here who might even hate me . But this is the truth and I have experienced it first hand..
Well about the Iraqi people (the number one victims of Saddam) we get here so many feedback from Iraq that the people are desperate for a war on Saddam they want to be set free some one said earlier that its OK if they dont mind US bombs flying over there heads well this time the bombs are the savior Saddam bombed them so many times in the past ask the people in Halabja, Kurdistan who were gassed 15 years ago by Saddam because they did not adopt his style of thinking!
Ask the Kurds in northern Iraq, Ask the Shiite in Southern Iraq do they mind a war to get rid of Saddam the answer is a definite NO!
Did you know that Iraq with a population of 18 million has 4 million refugees living outside Iraq you make you math of what percentage is that of the population!!!???
I guess with war 48 hours away .. all of us will see on TV that the Iraqis would drop there arms in a blink of an eye and welcome the Forces of Freedom who will at last set Iraqis FREE!!!
May God bless all those who are in the front lines helping to FREE Iraq!

I truly agree with you, I for one am living here in Saudi Arabia and have some US forces friends who are nervous but focused on facing the task at hand. As I said I know the guy and he is no gung-ho to go to war, he is actually skeptic of why does the US forces need to liberate an arab country. He once told me that why should they risk their life and limb while the other arab countries wouldn't even support them or take the initiative to free Iraqis who are well 100% arabs as well. IMHO people who are on the streets are thos who are misinformed and brain washed that war is bad, yes it is bad but for liberating a people who have been opressed for a long time without their own arab brothers (as they claim it) do anything or even say anything US led war is A-OK with me.

So here's my message to all those lambaster's in the streets, go home and watch the US show of real concern for humanity, considering the Iraqis are no way related to the blood line of the americans. While their own blood lines just keep a cold shoulder and pretend not to see Saddam's oppressive regime.

On second thought lets take this further, for those who belive that American bombs will save Iraqi poeple, why dont you go there since you are next door and join the Iraqi people waiting for the American bombs? If bombs are the answer, why dont you go to Iraq and wait for them to free Iraq? See it is very easy to talk from Kuwait or wherever about bombs, since the bombs are not flying over your heads.

Let us all go.....

You have a point but what would you rather have? 12 more years of oppressive iron fist rule of Saddam and probably enable him to have nuclear or something much more advanced than that. My point is wake-up and choose between the two lesser evil, for me it is a lesser evil to play hide and seek with smart bombs for say 2 months than stay quiet/afraid and send shiver to spine everytime Saddam's republican guards hunt you to cut your tongue for slandering the government or get killed because you are a threat to the 15,000 elite republican guards of Saddam you get the point.

Piece of advise: Be subjective and not emotional.

Let us all go.....[/quote]
