Connecting to the net on a PC using the n97

Has anyone got any idea how to do it?
I've had a try with the PC suite, but, no luck.
(I'm using the USB cable BTW.)

to achieve what you want you have to have the USB interface transmit and receive IP packets .. with an IP address ..

Its not impossible but I don't think anyone has done it. Since the WiFi interface is built for that purpose.

- either I misread the OP or its been changed..

Yes .. using the N97 as a modem is trivial ..

Surely you can just connect to the laptop/desktop via USB and open PC suite and chose Connect to Internet function. Which will then dial through and use your N97 as the Modem.

Works fine on my machine at home!

I did this several times last week using my Toshiba Notebook via bluetooth to the N97. I first set it up using Nokia PC Suite "Connect to the Internet" which created a connection on the PC. Then whenever I wanted to use it I just opened the Nokia Bluetooth Modem (OTA) network connection which had been created in the Dial-Up section of Network Connections.

Yes, you should be able to do this through PC Suite, and just chose your particular mobile network, and away you go.

I'm not sure if this is region specific, but my N97 came with an application installed called Joikuspot which turns your N97 into a WiFi hotspot. It works brilliantly.

If your's hasn't got it, you can get it from the Ovi Store I believe.

You're right, works brilliantly. I had not been aware of that programme. Thanks for the heads up!
