Fooled you....I'm not poring over the specs of the latest smartphones while waiting for the long-overdue v20 firmware....
I bought a pair of Nokia BH--905 noise-cancelling BT stereo headphones.
I'm using them to cancel out the deafening noise that all of those crickets in Finland are making right now!!
i don't know if i care anymore 😞

I refuse to comment about your tension angiepea.
I don't want to get banned from this forum.
Good to know that I was spot on with your retail therapy. 😊

Oh... come on Dave... look on the bright side...
oh, hang on a minute... there isn't one is there?
Sorry :frown:
It concerns me that you're all thinking about ditching your N97s - i'm getting the feeling that this will be a very lonely forum for me soon :frown:

OK... you fooled me.
Are you sure it's crickets and not just a poor signal?
Enjoy the headphones... hope they fit your next phone. 😃
I'm gonna chuck mine in the stingys if V20 doesn't sort it out.
😡

I bought, what I was told by Nokia, a flagship phone.
I got a lemon with imature firmware that hasn't been sorted a third of a year later.
Sorry angiepea, it feels like a lonely forum already as we all sit around waiting for Nokia to get their finger out.
Knickers to the group hug... what Dave needs is a pint of squeal (cider). I know I do. :icon14:
Lets go get drunk on scrumpy and throw eggs at nokias house!
yeah .... you're right. that does sound better 😃
davecozens wrote:Lets go get drunk on scrumpy and throw eggs at nokias house!
I'm up for that... may need a little more practice on the first part of that idea... but count me in!!!
I'm chucking this one....

Bet that chicken's eyes watered!

(gulps noisily and crosses legs 😮)
Nokia are safe, I cooked it.

Ahh, good ol' ostrich eggs! I got one from Oslinc in Boston, Lincolnshire, and scrambled it. Big frying pan required 😃
Never thought of making a scotch egg from it! Was it nice?
Dunno, that's not really me 😉 Good 'ole google images :icon14:
nottmbantam wrote:Oddly enough, I find I can type texts quicker with the N95!
Oh yes - definitely! Touch screen/qwerty is so much slower. That's the main thing I miss about my N95. I did get it out the other day and admit I prefer its speed and ease of use. That said, it did have quite a few firmware releases in its lifetime so I pray that the N97 gets just as good.
I'm currently waiting for my local Nokia repair shop to get parts in for me anyway. I'm getting a camera lens and GPS issue fixes along with the keypad slider lock replaced as it literally fell off when I unlocked the phone the other day!! :icon4:
Come on Royal Mail... 😡

Already done.
So dismayed was I with the N97's disfunction at basic things such as phone calls and texts, I've ditched it and purchased a N86. And I don't regret it one single bit.
In fact, the wife has noticed how much happier I am and how little I curse my mobile phone these days.
[on the "Scotch" ostrich egg]....
quoting Benny Hill (rest his soul)...
"You don't get many of those to the pound."

Have you managed to find any debranding info? (for the N86)
[email protected] wrote:Product codes for the N86 are here:-http://www.nokiausers.net/forum/nokia-n86/28179-n86-product-codes.html
Seems that you can use NSS for debranding:-

You may need the hard reset (Vulcan Death Grip) for the N86:-

Hope this helps. 😊
