Just tried Maps, I'm on Ovi Maps beta 3.03 with no GPS mods, and not only am I getting a lock in seconds but I have a green compass and 9 bars. Map auto rotating. It's even showing me at the bottom of the garden!
Never had that before at home!
Can someone have a look and see if it's the same for them.

...and now I've got to reboot!! Arrrrgghhh!!
davecozens wrote:Right. Formatting mass memory now. than a *'7370# reset for me..
Hi, how do you format the mass memory? And what's the difference compared with doing a *#7370# reset?
I'm from Malaysia and yet to receive the update but just getting ready. Also recently had my lens cover changed. 😊 Also fixed the GPS at Nokia service centres. 😊 Hope the software comes soon, can't wait. Thanks.
Hmmm, I know I can get this firmware now if I debrand, but would I lose anything worth keeping if I debrand from Vodafone UK?
dog-man
damnit its not out for me!
!@##%$#%%@#!~@~!!!!!@
Lol, i actually checked in here this morning (still no reply to my music thread) then ran the updater at about 10:30 seeing if i could get the jump on anyone. Now downloading! Woot!
Anyone else surprised by how quick it uploads to the phone? From connection of N97 (minus the download time of new fw) it's just taken me 4 minutes to update!
yes bowman, it usualy takes longer, i set it to update and waited till fw had downloaded then went out side for a smoke, came back in and n97 was sitting there all done waiting for me
Is it just me, or is Music dead?
I had about 2000 songs on my Mass Memory... but then opening Music Library says I have nothing... and now it just "hangs" searching for music and podcasts.
😞
It's going to truly suck to have to transfer everything over again 😞

The very reason I back my Music folder up EVERYTIME!!
WHY DO I BOTHER!
Updated it, now my phone turns it's self off by the screen fizzing out and phone turning off!
It's now unusable without trying a hard reset.
I was hoping i wouldn't need to do this, this time!
EDIT: Just done SHIFT, SPACE, DELETE Power on Hard Reset. Phone isn't turning it's self off now, but i have to install everything again. Tw*ts at Nokia, can't get anything right!
its not broken my 600 song collection took about 10 mins to load just wait and be patient 😃
I downloaded it, but it won't update, just says "update startup failed"
Any help?

Are you using the Nokia Software Updater and is it v1.8?
yes and yes,
debranded v12 on euro code
Oh dear.
The Idiots at Nokia have outdone themselves this time.
Now, after using NSU, it tells me:
"Software Update Failed. For optimum connection your cable should be connected directly to your PC"
Mmm, insightful words.
Because you see, it is plugged into my laptop. I have 4 USB ports, none of them work with NSU.
Do you know why?
Because i've been told that Nokia have blocked majority of Laptops because apparently "HUBS" lead to Bricked Phones.
Um, they're not Hubs. They're USB ports.
and the NSU has bricked this phone 3 times in a row.
So AGAIN, for a 3RD time, Nokia have inconvenienced me beyold reproach.
I can't even flash the C**t of a thing.
Does anyone know to brick a working phone?
Then i'll install it properly via JAF.
NSU is a f**king joke.
Nokia are c**ts and need to work out how to release products that work.
No wonder they lost so much profits last year, people have finally caught on that they're all useless.

By entering *#0000# on the dial pad, what software version are you on in full (i.e. v12.0.***) please?

I don't think that you need to * out the word "clot".

Sorry... I'm at a loss. Just checking you had the right firmware to update to begin with. You and MrAaronVenn seem to have identical problems.
snuge wrote:did someone say they could move the clock? if so how? i cant seem to?
Homescreen > Options > Edit content > then you can move the clock/date/profile segment around.

Before Christmas.....
which Christmas is a little trickier.
Now it's popping up saying just "Error"
Um, No.
Work out what you're doing Nokia.
Seriously.
If anyone knows how to brick a phone so I can reflash it myself i'd be very appreciative.
Nokia themselves can't seem to do anything right.
Even make a smart phone that doesn't need constant updates to work properly.
2 seconds later update?
No, its back to suggesting I plug in.
It is plugged in
I plugged it into an actual PC aswell, still didn't work.
no update here what code are you all using? 😡

Look like you'll have to wait for FOTA update instead.

Good point! Of course Vodafone will deny any knowledge of the firmware and it will be someone else who advises its out for VF customers!

OK... 2 suggestions that "may" work.
1. Try installing Ovi Suite (or if you have Ovi Suite... try installing the stand alone NSU)
or (more radical)
2. Uninstall everything Nokia (including Connectivity Cable drivers... the lot) and then using the Nokia PC Suite computer cleaner before reinstalling either NSU or Ovi from scratch.
This worked for me on my laptop. There are several postings on this forum on the subject.
Good luck both of you. :icon14:
