Countdown to war

Well, the us is going to war with iraq.

Opinions on this?

Personally I think it's the right thing to do, strike now before the menace escalates to a point where more lives would be lost.

I agree it's sad, but the thing is the world is not ruled by reasonable honest caring people 😞

Evobit, you quipped the words exactly from my mouth.

Cut the root cause and not just act on cleaning the aftermath.

Only time will tell if the war is really the best solution. After the end of the war we will see the consequences... And this war affects all of us. Not only the us and iraq!
Crypto you can take your signiture and shove it
Can I shove it your ass, since your the one who thought of it. Hey and I have my right to whatever signature I want, WHO are you to tell me what to do???
i am from kuwait and the war will start soon trust me and i hope tha bastard dies
AGREE let's get this over with, war rumours causes more damage than the real one.

Personally i'm against the war, and i'm against Saddam, and I'm against Bush (did ya hear? It's new that bush is another word for cunt! :P) And saddam means "bumper" in arabic 😃

Lol! they're all *ssholes! And so is the idea of war, but there's no way of getting saddam disarmed. Man, this is so screwed up! This sucks man! i think they should take Iraq and shove it up bush's, and shove saddam with them too!! :P

(sorry about that, i didn't want to go into politics to get a thread with bad argueing 😃)

We should all be just thinking of how to make ourselves rich and happy and get loads of sex to release the tension right?

I personally hate war -any war- and its consequences.. But when it is for a good reason and there's no other alternative, then I can accept it. The point is that in this case the United(?) Nations were not convinced it was necessary, so few (or should I say one?) members decided to simply ignore the others and go on, as if the UN did not exist! And that's what bothers me the most. But the fact that so many UN members did not approve of this war makes me think twice...

This game is too concealed for most of us to understand right - don't anyone tell me different, we mostly hear one side of the story! Is it a real threat, terrorism or just a game of power? (i.e. oil) I guess we cannot really be sure. But whatever it is, a lot of innocent people will lose their lives to it. And THAT'S sad. 😞

I'm with petran, agree 100%. This issue is huge, we don't know the facts. Problem seems to be that very few, if anyone, has enough facts. Educated people in UN and elsewhere have different views on the matter and the people who get affected the most cannot really tell what they want. Killing thousands in order to get rid of just one seems rediculous. Except that it's not funny at all. :-?

I live in a far away country and have absolutely no personal risk in this war. Yet, after being here in AAS with so many of you from Saudi Arabia or Kuwait, I feel worried about the safety of all of you guys over there. Take care, will you 😞

I used to work in the centre of London, glad i'm unemployed now... Still, if there was to be a nuke, they have a 50 mile radius so still no luck...bah :black:

I've the urge of deleting this topic. I think topics like this will hurt people on both sides.
I actually think that all politics+religion should be banned from this board 😛
As we are all trying to be friends here. + online your country, religion and skin colour all doesn't count.

I am not sure about using phrases like kill saddam and stuff. I wouldnt mind discussion about politics or religion if they were actuall discussions, but they rarely are.

Personally I don't want to pay higher taxes to have a load of innocent Iraqis die, or the not so innocent ones that just follow orders.

Sorry if I've started an offensive thread, I wasn't trying to start a campaign.

I'm really just interested in people's opinions cos the polls say (for example) 80% of England are opposed to the war and I'm wondering why?

I also concur with Petran, we as the public are seriously mis-informed by the media. For some reason I tend to place a bit of confidence the intelligence that the usa has and hence the decisions their leader makes. Could be totally mis-placed confidence tho, but I'll never find out...

all are ready for war,the U.S and U.K troops is just waiting the orders to attack Iraq or Baghdad!! but the latest news is 17 Iraqi soldiers surrender,i don't know why, maybe they are afraid hehe! 😊

The media never tells the public what's really happening, it's always covered up with so much layers, it makes Bently paint jobs look cheap! 😊

Yes this issue is not funny, not funny at all, and it's big, as you can see. But what is there to do? Us civilians can't do no nothing, Bush is so stubborn, he's gonna carry on the war even if the whole world is against him! (which it will if he really had a reason)

But personally, i agree with dazler, but not fully, threads like these end up with problems and stuff, just because people 'cross the line' so i think it's cool to discuss on anything, we just have stay away from crossing the line and offending people/religions whatsoever 😃

(everybody is mature enough to know that!!)

I think that most of the people here are very mature to understand some things. Besides most of the people that are posting on these threads are at least forum older members. I still remember when i have become a member of aas. I was watching some members not with a good eye, and thinking that i won't have a good relationship with them, for varius reasons. GHOSTDOG was one of them. When i first saw the place he was from FYROM, MACEDONIA (we think that macedonia is greek and that these people are stealing our history), i was quite sure it will end bad. But i was so wrong. Here in aas we leave our differences aside, and thats why aas makes the difference. I couldn't even believe some then that i will miss him from posting in aas now, that he as well as many other guys here are so... COOL! And even if some times we cross the line, we will understand our mistakes later. I remember having different opinions with bigbang, but that doesn't mean anything. I may have an opposite opinion on a subject with someone else but i will give my life to protect his right to express his opinion... (I think that Voltaire have said that, but i really believe that)

Please do it as soon as possible...
Kill Saddam!!!
i can asure you that, they cannot kill Saddam and if Saddam will surrender im sure that he will commit suicide

Yes each and every one has an opinion, and I could respect so here's mine:

Killing Saddam and his sons and his generals would give the Iraqi people a chance for freedom and to run their own lives and enjoy the wealth of Iraq. AIN'T THAT ENOUGH REASON TO KILL THEM and in the process have a minimal collateral damage. You choose between the 2 lesser evils and I choose the first one.

I have and still am staying here in Saudi Arabia and being asian and have worked and lived in an open country you sure know what you are missing. This maybe hard for arabs to understand as they have not enjoyed or experience living in an open country wherein you want to have sex you can find it, you want alcohol you can find it all without the fear of being put in jail or repatriated when caught. Cinemas, bars, concerts, live bands all are NIL or are banned in Saudi Arabia so when all things clear up Iraqi people might have or not all these things for them to enjoy especially un-censored internet not like here.

This is my opinion, it's either you respect it or not I don't care.

The thing is that it's a pity that we talk of this stuff on a friendly forum like aas...anyway I respect any opinion! 😉
