Should i sell my 7650 and buy a 3650?

Im fed up of the lack of memory on my 7650, but is the 3650 just as good with this bonus feature?
anyone got any good/bad expiereances?

well.... it's like this:
I've had a 7650 for 2 weeks and traded it for a 3650, so I know what I'm talking about. If you really need the extra memory, go for it! ...but the joystick on the 3650 isn't that much joy, it has no proximity sensor, no luminosity sensor, no separate loudspeaker button and it's overall building quality is inferior to the 7650's... noticibly inferior!! it's basically a kiddie's phone... there's also that annoyance about the keys... lot's of games assume we have a phone with a normal keyboard layout, and unfortunately the 3650's doesn't help much when playing those.... I would do the same trade again, but I really miss my 7650..... and it's clit-like joystick <- a major advantage!! (but the extra memory in the 3650 is a major advantage!!!

Or you can do like I'm doing and holding out for the Siemens. I've had my 7650 since August. Yes agreed the memory issue is a complete pain.

But the 3650 just looks, well not classy to the eye like the 7650.. So the Siemens or wait for some of the other series 60's that are on the way.

I'd wait and see if any better phones come ~next year. The 3650 keyboard is plain horrible, as every game/app is designed for standard layout. The only good things vs. 7650 are slightly lighter weight and memory card support.

If nothing else, at least wait and see if N-Gage makes it big. I'm sure if Nokia wants to compete with Gameboys etc. the price has to be reasonable.

** Magic **

Hmm. Correct me if i'm wrong. I've did a compare on Nokia's website, between Nokia 3650/7650 & N-Gage.

Actually found out that the N-Gage has some 'major' feature 'removed'... I cannot really remember what's being removed.. But i think those missing feature has made the phone not a good one by the specs.

Like it was said before,if you need the extra memory,go for it.I wouldn't.
I'm geting the p800 instead and keeping my 7650 because it served me and it still serves me well.

I dont think that it has anything major improvement, the hardware specs are allmost the same, allthough the games for the N-Gage will be on MMC and will not work with the 3650.The OS is the same, the UI is the same.
The N-gage doesnt have bluetooth,i think it has USB,FM radio maybe.
Check the website for specs: www.n-gage.com.

It also doesn't has a camera. Sth major for many. Don't know if it will be compatible with nokia's camera...

Clearly 3650 is better than the 7650. The point is:
Is it wothy go buying a new 3650?

I think not, the only thing you'll gain is MEMORY SPACE. IMHO I'll wait 'till the next S60 release. I think Nokia will come out with something GREAT! before Xmas.

Well its like this. The memory limitation IS a disadvantage for N7650 users but I wouldn't go for the N3650.
FIRST of all, the name. It's 3650. Its a 3xxx phone. Its known that the 3xxx phones are Nokia's "budget phones" for the youth market. Which the N3650 clearly shows with its looks. So actually, by going from a N7650 to an N3650, you would be de-grading yourself. I suggest, stick to the N7650. Its an excellent phone. I used to have one(now use the SE P800).
To compare with the N3650. Major dis-advantages are 1. Memory, 2. Video Recorder. Now NOKIA is offering the video recorder software for free on their website. The Memory is a problem but if you don't really require THAT much memory, there are some compression softwares for te N7650 which does increase you r memory in a way. It compresses the stuff you are not using at the moment to give you space for other stuff. When u finish with something else it compresses so as to save you space. THe only other thing is that the N7650 isn't tri-band but if u don't travel to the US often, i guess that shouldn't be much of a problem.

I'm tempted by the 3650, but with the Siemens SX1 just around the corner, I'll think I'll wait for that!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Don't make me laugh!!! I'm not even gonna comment on that remark, but the idea of judging a phone by it's number, and deciding that "you'd be degrading yourself" for buying it is just to hilarious to let it go!!!! LOL
(damn... I ended up commenting on it... =))))
...that was great.... keep'em coming!!![/b]

I'm going to add one comment:

Xunvala's assessment about the 3650 being a "youth market" phone, is correct. That is in fact the reason of the "3" in "3650". the rest of the coment is, in my opinion, completely wrong. The fact of it being a youth phone doesn't make it worst than the phones with "other numbers in the beginning" (not quoting, but summarizing xunvala's characterization).

I'll exemplify: Can anyone argue that if someone trades a 6610 or a 7210 for a 3650, he will be "de-grading" himself?... I don't think so... (but 3650 is almost half of 7210... guess the 6610 is twice the 3650...😉)

If you're into numbers, pay attention to the phone's series.

I wouldn't call it degrading but that is how Nokia classifies the devices they make, usually, the devices with lower number are low class devices.

There should be something like trial version for phones, you dont like, you return it 😃

I think nokia definitely got mistaken in naming the phone 3650... coz It's the best phone out there by nokia... technically speaking!

That's right MAN!

Well ST@RR,i dont agree, techically,it has only one advantage over the 7650,the MMC slot, and maybe the builtin camera app.

What advantage does the 7650 has over the 3650? Technically...not aesthetically.

You can read the second post of this thread,by Tatuagem,i would add that it has less RAM.I'm not saying that the 3650 is bad or anything like it,its not a device that suits my needs, that is why i'm going for the p800.

Oh well... there's one thing you and I both agree on, the P800 😊 I want to get it also.

Sure mat, go ahead and sell your 7650 and buy a toyish 3650.
Ever wondered why the PRICE on 3650 has been dropping like shit in your pants but the price of 7650 has been lowering itself much more slower?
Ever held the 3650 in you hand? What a noobie phone indeed. It just feels like a plastic toy and with every keypress you wonder if its going to break to piecess. The keypad layout has to won the price of "ShitIdontKnowHowToArrangeThese2003" for sure. ok it has a mmc slot? so has the new siemens vacuum cleaner too. If you need memory go buy a palmpilot to play around. If you need a PHONE with few nice programs in it, stay loyal to your 7650. If you need a low life scum phone and you want to loose some money, go buy that 3650. NOW!
(wait for 2 weeks and its price has dropped again)(why? well, they cant sell it in its normal price)(7650 sells like a dream without the price cutted in half, well duh, almost)
go figure...

I don't know with you mattius... If you post this thread at 3650, they'll suggest you get one. Here, they suggest to stick with your 7650. Now, I suggest you go search for reviews on the net for objectivity sake 😊

now it starts to seem like it's something personal... pay less attention to what others are doing and try to make up your own mind for once in your life. maybe you prefer your phones heavy, but I much rather have a lighter one, with it's keys accessible without having to open a drawer to access them... even if they're not organized in a "regular fashion"... I think it gives the 3650 an original look that most of the people I know feel atracted to.
I'd like to know what's your issue with the 3650... I think deep down you wish you had one, but now that you spent all your money on that 7650, and you can't convince anyone to buy it from you, since they're all going for the cheaper, better 3650 you're trying to find some reasons to make it seem inferior.... If I gave it a little more thought I bet I'd find a more "freudian" reason for all that anger....

Let me just add that I'm the first to think that the 7650 has a better build quality than the 3650... but I'd still go for the 3650, even at the same price... Maybe you need to get one to really appreciate it and feel that it was a step up the ladder...

ST@RR is absolutely right, by the way...

Everyone has a perfect phone, which (unless they have a spare mountain of cash) will never be produced, there will always be flaws...even the p800 (which is excellent) does.
You can't custom build a phone, so its horses for courses and each to their own. Name your top priorities in a fone. If you want loads of memory and are not bothered about looking a plonker get the 3650, if its aestetics you're after then in my opinion you're better to wait. There's some great series60 phones coming onto the martket soon!

I agree with Tatuagem. You can't judge a phone completely by its number and thats not what i meant. I mentioned the number 3650 to draw attention to the fact that it is a phone for the youth market. But i hav to admit that i was quite amazed at the fact that a phone claimed to be a youth market phone and thus lower priced should have more features than a device such as the 7650. As for the de-grading part, i meant that you'd be going from a upper market phone to a youth/budget market phone NOT better to worse or vice versa.

but as they named in for the 3 series, its aimed at the youth, and that's why it's so plasticy and rubbish looking
