Nope,its mono.6600 is based on SERIES 60 platform,like 3650/7650.
No.

6600 is based on Series 60 2.0 (S60--> SymbianOS v6.1. S60 2.0 --> SymbianOS v7.0s).

It also has Java Midp 2.0 (Series 60 has 1.0).
It think mono output is still there, which is too bad. 😞

If my friend gonna take this for a test, i will tell more about...

Polyphonic Tones:
Polyphonic tones are high-quality, melodious tones that can play more than one note at a time to give your phone a rich sound
True Tones:
They're called True tones because they sound almost as good as the real thing. True tones can be music or just about any sound - like engine or nature sounds - and they'll be available soon for some Nokia phones.
Difference between Polyphonic and True Tones.

So we know about the quality of sound output and it will be mp3 playable, but what about a radio? Nice feature IMO!

Yep, it's mono. I think i'm gonna pass this...

I'm gonna wait for Nokia's next S60 2.0 phone. If there not gonna be any interesting phone from others...

Every Nokia smartphone has mono output.

I think Siemens SX1 and Samsung SGH-D700 only has stereo output of smartphones. I'm not sure about P800. Does it have stereo output?

Oh, if that's so, I'm not worry if 6600 is mono. I don't need a phono for giving a concert anyway... 😃

Yes indeed, crystal clear STEREO sound output.
And believe me, stereo is crucial when using your phone/PDA as a MP3(Ogg) player. I used to have a N7650 which has MONO sound output, and switching to a P800 makes a world of difference.

Hehe, yes i though that P800 has stereo output.
I think i'm gonna trade my 3650 to P800 some day. 😊

Is there anything on the offical Nokia site that clearly shows that the 6600 does not have stereo? I'm sure everyone is right, since they make no mention of MP3 on the info page, but it would be nice to know for sure.

I am still struggling to believe they missed this out. A Phone/PDA/Game/MP3 device does it all... so how could thet mess this up?

Nokia N-Gage has stereo output and is as much smartphone as any Series60-device.

when i tried my friend P800 damn i was so impressed by it sounds through the loud speaker and it sounds really nice even if it is full volume

😃 😃

but i dunno why i bought Nokia 9210i instead of P800 :-? :-? :-?
TRUE tones is a new feature,it is in N3300,it can play real melodies,clips...
Hmm.. True Tones, plays Real Melodies?
What kind of format is it in? .wav? Or?

If its some PC sound format, guess Stereo should be avaliable since they said it was 'True' tone.

:P Its just my guess anyway..

maybe we have to wait for the next series60 version2 phone for stereo support.

i guess nokia will announce an entertainment version of 6600 after 6600 hit streets, just like 3650 and 7650. maybe the phone would be name 3600 😃
