PS: I think there shouldn't be much problems with mp3 on 6600 since it's Symbian and you can find and install third-party mp3 software. Mono output is more serious pitfall...

if u just considering the Mp3 features, sure D700 will rocks cos it has the Stereo.
but if u gonna personalise ur phone to be different from the others in terms of style, themes, icons and Apps .. etc

I agree 100% Matrix,people just don't get the advantage of having a Symbian powered device.There is a great veriety of third party apps available,so mp3 player for the 6600 wouldn't be a problem although the mp3 player would not be of much use bacause of the mono output 😞

The SGH-D700 will have that feature too,the only difference is that the 6600 will have it built in and the D700 will get it through a third party app like sLauncher.

i would also like to add re the post of energy about the difference of true tones and polyphonic tones. besides the things that he mentioned, truetones is much smaller in size than the poly tones.
Well the 6600 is a professional phone like all the 6xxx phones. It's not a phone ment for entertaining. And I don't think they will make a 3xxx phone with almost same features ment for entertaining because that will may kill the N-Gage sales...

The D700 will be a great phone. If you like clamshell phones - which I don't - this Samsung is the way to go! I'll be waiting for Nokia's first Series 60 v2.0 FASHION phone. Like the 7250.
I think Nokia will not realese Smartphone in FASHION CATEGORY..
The N-Gage is aimed at people who want to play games on their phone, where as a fashion version of the 6600 (like the 3650 was to the 7650) would be aimed at a different market.
I'm just hoping they keep the 6600 puck shape for it's fashion varient, more interesting that the usual rectangle design!
Nokia will definitely release a fashion phone using Series 60,in fact,i think that most of their devices that fall under the phone category(That excludes the communicator)will be using Series 60.I'm not saying that they'll abandon production of phones using older UI's like Series 40,just that they'll focus on Series 60 instead.
Look at this product matrix. There are a lot of empty spaces that Nokia will eventually fill. I'm really wondering what phones will appear in the media category! And what about a premium series 60 phone! 😃

You can find a lot of info about Nokia that is not publicly announced in their webcasts. I got the product matrix from the ppt slides that accompanied the presentation.

im always askin myself why nokia can't just put stereo fm radio or music player/recorder in series 60 phones.. now that i saw the nokia product category matrix, i understand maybe there developing phones with each unique charasteristics and functions, so that people can try all there phones.. anyways nothing is perfect at all hehe 😃
