Dear All,
I'm pleased to announce the availability of ETI Camcorder version 1.0. Now it is available for purchase from www.handango.com at $9.95USD with a FREE one-year upgrade. A free watermarked evaluation version will soon be available online as well.
This version contains numerous bug fixes and feature enhancements over the previous beta, thanks to our dear testers from all over the world 😊 Below is a list of new features/fixes:
- Near perfect A/V sync
- Permanent backlight during recording
- Recording status shows duration and size
- Shortcut keys: 1-high quality, 2-standard quality, 3-low quality, abc-audio on/off
- User selectable audio codec: general/speech
- User configurable MMS size limit
- Three viewing mode of video album: large thumbnail (original), small thumbnail (16 videos on one page), and detailed list.
- Categorize videos into folders
- Move videos between phone memory and MMC
- Press "c" to delete video
- Single joystick press to play video
- Sound volume adjustment (up/down key) for playback
- Frame stepping (left/right key)
- Fast forward/rewind (press and hold left/right key)
- Player progress bar
- Player timestamp
We also plan to add the following features in the next release (free to registered users):
- MP4/3GP file support
- Full screen playback
- Playback contrast/brightness
- Night shot
- Digital zoom

Sounds very impressive. But 'near perfect A/V sync' is still a bit of a worry. There's nothing more annoying than sound that doesn't match the video!

Hi Will, sorry about that. We haven't figured out how to automate the key code generation process at the point of sales... therefore, given the time difference it may take a while for you to receive it. However, the software you download should allow you to use it without the key code. It expires in a few days without the code but that should be plenty of time for us to generate the code 😉 Anyway, if you still do not receive it please contact me directly and I will PERSONALLY generate one for you 😃
Whenever I try to record it is asking me to enter the regcode already...
Is that cause I previously had your other version installed so it thinks my trial period is over?
I'll just have to be a little patient 😊

I did not previously have another version but I get the same message when trying to record with this new version. So can you send me the code too please? I presume that the least the trial software will allow me to do is actually record some video??? Otherwise you've added a new twist on the word 'trial' :-?

I was just being a little impatient 😉
But to his credit i now have a trial version that lasts longer - so that will keep me going untill my regcode arrives 😊

We have a seperate demo version (watermarked) which will be put online in a few days. The one you have is the un-restricted version (for registered customers) which requires a pass key. We did not realize that Handango automatically create a demo link to that copy... but now we have fixed it so it will allow you to try it for a few days even without the code. So please download again and see if it works for you.

I'm a new user of 3650. I just got it. I haven't even used really.
I just bought the full version of ETI Camcorder Pro and downloaded onto my PC.
I have my Bluetooth working--tested it out with a pic email last night.
Now I'm not sure how to get the .sys file for ETI into my phone.
After that what do I do.
If anyone can please jot down some pointers on how to do this I'd appreciate it.

Just send the sis file to your phone(Send to-Via Bluetooth),when it shows up in your inbox click on it,the installation procedure is pretty easy.

I think I found a bug! I installed the camcorder, but all my old files appear to be mirrored, both vertically and horizontally!! Anyway to fix this?

purchased and downloaded it a while ago..noticed some bugs..has a fixed screen size so the output or playback is large and pixelated!!!..is there a way to adjust the screen size during playback?.....though has nice features!

In a couple of days I will release a patch that allows screen adjustment in the player. Stay tuned.

Actually... that's not a bug, but rather, a bug in the old app. What happened is this - the older recorder writes out videos upside/down and in inverted color. It didn't show up because the old player was also "twisted" 😉 This explains why sometimes converted AVIs are upside down on some PCs, also this prevents the videos to be played back properly using other MPEG-4 codecs. In the new version we have fixed it so now you have fully complaint MPEG-4 videos that can be played back by other codecs such as DivX or Xvid. The side effect of this is that the old videos no longer show up correctly. However, I'm working on a free tool that should allow you to fix the old videos. I do not know when I will get it done as I'm being caught up by a few urgent things at work. I will definitely do my best though, so stay tuned.
I just downloaded and tried the recorder. It's great and it's fast. 😃
However, I noticed what I see when I was recording is NOT exactly what I got at the end when I replayed the video on my N3650. What's recorded and shown when you replay has the right side cut off by about 10%.
Also, what watermark? I don't see any of those.
Lastly, how can I send the video (or eye & ear) to my friend via email and let them watch it? What do they need to view? 😉

Woops! Let me look into that... as for the watermark, it is not in the current version. It will be put online in a day or so and serve as a demo/eval copy.
