Hello everyone,
We have just launched a new application called SMSXtender
SMSXtender is a small (5.5k) midlet that allows you to send SMS messages to destinations all over the world for just 0.07 EUR/message. It also allows you to "tweak" your SMS messages in ways that are impossible from a regular phone:
1. You can alter the phone number that the message appears to have come from. Want to play tricks on your friends? Send them messages that appear to have come from their own phone number (or from their girlfriends 😉 )

2. You can even set an alphanumeric sender id (a name). It is limited to 12 characters, but that's enough to send a message from J. Lopez to a Jennifer Lopez fan 😊

3. You can send Flash SMS messages that are instantly displayed on the receiver's phone. The receiver doesn't have to press any buttons to read your message, it just pops up on their screen.

The application costs EUR 9.95 and includes 10 initial credits. If you need more, you can purchase packs of 100 credits.
More details on our site (http://www.simeda.com/smsxtender.html) or on Handango (http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?productType=2&optionId=1_10_2&platformId=10&siteId=1&productId=83923&sectionId=0&catalog=90).
Enjoy 😊
Razvan
If you want to check the coverage area for SMSXtender go to http://www.simeda.com/smsxtender-coverage.html. Please note that only the receiver of the message must be in the coverage area, the sender just needs a data connection (GPRS or CSD).

I would appreciate if those of you who have tried the software or even bought it would go and review it on Handango at http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?productType=2&optionId=1_10_2&platformId=10&siteId=1&productId=83923&sectionId=0&catalog=90. This would help us immensely. Thank you!

Since many of you asked for a free trial version of SMSXtender, we came up with the following procedure:
1. You can download the application directly from http://www.simeda.com/downloads/SMSXtender.zip. We have just updated it (it's slightly larger, 12k, but it supports additional characters from various languages and it's more stable). The application however is useless without the credits, so read below.
2. Send an SMS from the phone you're going to use for testing to +40722537195. Put your email address in it and your required password (like this: [email protected],password).
3. When we receive the SMS, we will create an account for you. The account name will be your phone number, in international format, without the double 0 or + sign in front. The password will be the one you requested. We will notify you by email when your account is activated. Your account will have 1 credit that you can use to test the application. We will not issue more than 1 account per email or 1 account per phone number.
4. If you decide you like the application, you'll have to purchase it (at the current EUR 9.95 price). If you don't like it, you'll have to remove it from your phone after the test.
If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to email me at [email protected].
One more thing: we will check to make sure the trial requests were not sent through our system ... just in case someone was thinking about that 😊 (I know I did 😊 ).
Frm were i can download trial version?

Read the post above, the link is right there! http://www.simeda.com/downloads/SMSXtender.zip. You will have to follow the procedure above to obtain your demo account.

It doestn WORK !!
420 777 ... ...
What exactly doesn't work? The download? The software? If it's the software, did you check the coverage page (http://www.simeda.com/smsxtender-coverage.html)? Let me know more about the problem and I'll fix it.

Hi,
just one suggestion. Can you develop this app for Symbian OS ?? I think it would be easier than to access the contacts you saved in your phone (don't know how this would work in Java). Because accessing the contacts you saved in your phone book is one main thing i miss. And perhaps if you develop it as a Symbian app it would be easier to replace the original message center with it. I find it very disturbing after receiving a sms, to start the programm, enter the phone number, check if it is right, enter the text, etc... I hope you get what i mean.
hi there my friend may i just congratulate you on an absoloutely great idea, but may i also laugh at you for setting it up so poorly.
1stly i read all that was above and found it way too much hassle and secondly my friend above is correct you should just have created a symbian version and rather then using your own sms threads or rather used the standards ones used by everyone. but you could hav had the very same features and im sure everyone would have loved it!
sorry but just my 2cents worth!
Well sakaveli, I'm sure you can do better! We always welcome competition 😊. Bear in mind that SMSXtender works on anything, from a Nokia 3410 to the 3650 and the SE P800. It is not a Symbian application, although we are planning a Symbian version (to be able to access the contact list and make the application look nicer 😊 ).
For the rest of you, we are almost 90% done with the new version that will support additional networks. But we need your help. All those of you who would like to send to networks that are not in our coverage area, please email me at [email protected]. We need the following information: the name of the network (including the country) and all the known prefixes for that destination (e.g. Connex Romania, prefixes 40722, 40723, 40721 - meaning that all numbers starting with 40722, 40723 or 40721 belong to this network). If a certain prefix for the network you are trying to send to is not listed, the system will attempt to send the message at 1 credit/message and will obviously fail.
There is no change in the client software, you can keep your existing SMSXtender versions. There will be a release later next week that will probably include support for the Greek language. If your native language is not supported, please email me at [email protected] and we'll try to figure something out.

Hello everyone,
We have just released version 1.1.0 of SMSXtender. It adds one important feature: the ability to prioritize your messages. You can choose between 3 priorities: Normal, Urgent and Very Urgent.
Urgent messages are always delivered before Normal messages. Very Urgent messages are guaranteed to be delivered before Urgent and Normal messages.
Urgent messages will cost you an extra 0.5 credits/message. Very Urgent messages will cost 1 extra credit/message.
The extra cost allows us to select additional (faster but more expensive) gateways to your destination network. So if you notice that a particular destination is slow, you can try increasing the priority.
The download locations for the new version are the same: http://www.simeda.com/downloads/SMSXtender.zip or via WAP at http://dynamic.simeda.com/send/SMSXtender.jad .
We are also launching the "Extend to a friend" program (an official announcement will be on our site tomorrow). The program is very simple: if you tell a friend about SMSXtender and the friend purchases a copy, you get 5 free credits and your friend also gets 5 free credits on top of his initial subscription. Just ask him to mention your email or account name when subscribing to our service.
Cheers,
Razvan

SMS dont receive
download and soft is good - no problem but i push send SMS and no comes.
THANX FOR A GREAT APPLICATION. I'VE HAD A LAUGH WITH IT & I'LL BE BUYING IT AS SOON AS I GET THE CHANCE. THE SYMBIAN VERSION SOUNDS EXCELLENT. I HOPE TO SEE IT SOON. CHEERS
DRAZVAN. I'VE SPOTTED A POTENTIAL LOOPHOLE IN YOUR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM. I RECENTLY DOWNLOADED THE FREE TRIAL OF SMSXTENDER & HAD A TEST ACCOUNT SET UP. THE LOOPHOLE IS THAT ONCE YOU'VE GOT ALL THAT THERE IS NO NEED TO BUY THE APPLICATION. I PURCHASED THE 100 CREDITS & YOU ADDED THEM TO MY TEST ACCOUNT. I'M NOW ABLE TO USE SMSXTENDER TO IT'S FULL CAPACITY WITHOUT EVER BUYING THE APP ITSELF. AS I BELIEVE IN DOING THE RIGHT THING I THOUGHT I SHOULD INFORM YOU OF THIS AS MANY OTHER PEOPLE COULD DO THE SAME. I INTEND TO BUY THE APP ASAP (AS SOON AS MY CREDIT CARD HAS AVAILABLE CREDIT ON IT!!) I WOULDN'T WANT TO SEE A LEGIT DEVELOPER LOSE FUNDING.
Well, I was probably just very tired and didn't doublecheck your account before I added the credits. I usually do that, we thought about this 😊. But thanks for the heads up 😊. Once again, we do check for this, my mind was probably somewhere else when I added your credits.
Cheers,
Razvan
Or you could distribute the app for free and just sell usage credits that would only make sense as some who would not use it much would then buy several credits from you just for giggles. And some are better then none.
Hello everyone,
SMSXtender v1.5.2 is now available.
New features:
- support for language translation tables. The only language supported for now is Greek.
Note: You can send messages containing Greek characters to GSM operators in Greece ONLY! Do not activate the Greek translation table for destinations outside Greece, your messages will fail!
- menu option for checking the remaining credits (View credits)
- menu option for checking the cost of a particular destination (Analyze destination)
- the ability to choose between HTTP GET and HTTP POST when sending messages (some networks only allow one of them to get through).
Best regards,
Razvan
DRAZVAN. WILL YOU BE POSTING A TRIAL VERSION OF THE UPDATED APP FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO DOWNLOAD IT VIA WAP?
P.S I SENT A FEW MESSAGES YESTERDAY & THEY TOOK A LONG TIME TO BE DELIVERED. ONE OF THEM TOOK 10HOURS!!!! IS THERE A PROBLEM WITH YOUR SERVER OR SOMETHING?
SMSXtender version 2.0.1 is now available. The only major change from version 1.5.2 is the new SMS editing screen. It's a separate screen now, displaying your entire message with a character counter (counting down from 160 to 0).

The new version can be downloaded from http://www.simeda.com/downloads/SMSXtender-2.0.1.zip
Thank you,
Razvan
Hello everyone,
We are about to launch a new Christmas application. I can't tell you what it does yet, but I need your help 😊. I need to know the name of "Santa Claus" in your country and in your language. So far I know it's "Santa Claus" in English, "Pere Noel" in French, "Weihnachtsmann" in German. How do you call Santa in your language?
Thanks,
Razvan

Thank you,
Razvan
Hello everyone,
We have just released version 3.0.0 of our SMSXtender for Nokia Series 60 phones. It's no longer a Java application but a Symbian native application. It has the following new features:

- Default country code field that is automatically added in front of the destination numbers
- Drop-down list of recently used destinations and recently used senders
- Remembers the text of the last message so that it can be reused
All current users with Nokia Series 60 phones are encouraged to upgrade to version 3.0.0 (the upgrade is free of charge). The new version can be downloaded at http://www.simeda.com/downloads/smsxtender-3.0.sis

Any chance to get a report when the messages are received? Waiting for my trial activation now....
What is default setting for HTTP method: POST or GET?
Tommie
I don't get activation for trail credits. Sent out sms, it arrived, but no reply on my email.
Does anyone know if this service is still alive? Otherwise should spent money on something which is slow...
I'm sorry everyone, I've been on vacation for the past 6 days and I have just returned to the office. All pending trial account requests will be handled within 24 hours. The service is very much alive, don't worry 😊
Razvan
I had to set HTTP to post in order to get the message to send. However the message was not received, tried 3 times. Any suggestions.
Hello everyone,
Since many of you requested a web interface for our SMSXtender system, I think this could be of interest to you: we have just launched the WebSend Option for SMSXtender. It's an option for existing SMSXtender users that allows you to use a web-based interface to send your messages. The credits will be deducted from your SMSXtender account, just like for the phone application.
The option can only be purchased on top of your existing SMSXtender account and costs EUR 3.95 (one time fee).
More details at http://www.simeda.com/smsxtender.html
Cheers,
Razvan
