Tested MMC cards

I have a 256 TopRam. I know the Ngage works with the 512MB mmc, but does it works with the 1GB MMC?

Thanks,
Andr

Just got a Kingmax 1Gb for my N-Gage QD. I have almost completely filled it with mp3's and video files - I works perfectly.

How much is actually usable. For instance I've got a 512MB Kingmax mmc but its real capacity is 489MB.

Out of the 1Gb, the phone shows the card as having 980mb in total.

Can you tell how you formatted and use your 1GB
Did you use a cardreader?

I'm wondering because I ordered also a 1GB Kingmax for my N-Gage.

Note: How can I see what firmware is one my N-Gage?

You have to use your NGage to format your memory card - if I remember correctly it took around 20 mins for my 1Gb. Your phone will put a few directories on your card for Sounds, Video, etc.

My Kingmax 1GB works fine. No problems at all. Even I didn't have to format it. I put the new MMC in my NGage and the N-Gage as wel Windows Xp recognised the card immideately! It has 979,719 MB availeble! I have not de N-gage QD but the original one. My firmware is 3.30.

Also nice to know: I bougt it for just 82 Euro's

Good luck you all,

Regards , Mark

Size, Manufacturer and place where you bought it from 😉

I have a 512mb ATP card. I bought it a place here in the US called Frys. The card works well.

Thanks,
Bobbyr

256mb LDB ( could be IDB) MMC Card works fine in my ngage QD. It's cool cuz I can take pics with my digicam and put the card into my fone to view the pics. Of course, the pic files are too big to send, but it's still cool to be able to do that!
I got the card from ebay for about 25 with postage, bargain!
Might not be the place to post this bit, but, I'm sure most will appreciate it: - go to www.wildpalm.com to download a free gameboy emulator for the ngage! You have to register it to keep the sound on, but, even without sound it works great. You can install it on your mem card and add your own rom files (game files).

hai, i am daniel... i also bought an Apacer 256Mb mmc at 14/11/2004... for about RM 105.... i oledi change 3 time my mmc with warraty... acaper mmc was works like a charm ... some time...... i also will out the msg " unsafe the use memory cards"... so sad....can some ppl help me solve this problem... maybe i will buy new mmc..... 'kingmax 256' it is work clean and nice, not lagging?

MyFlash A-Data 128mb MMC
Worked about two months, but now N-Gage QD sometimes says "The removal of memorycard isn't safe now" so I guess the card is corrupt or my firmware has a bug. The official N-Gage games work without any problems though. I have to buy a Sandisk from verkkokauppa.com because it's only 20 (128mb). And it says right on the info that data won't be lost on sudden disconnect (or at least I think they mean that). They also say that it's compatible with N-gage so...

The bottom line is: A-Data may be fine, but this one isn't working.

I bought 2 Extrememory 1GB MMCs on eBay. When I put one of them in my QD, it freezes for a while (about 4 minutes not responding to any controls) and then it keeps reporting a corrupted card.

I hope I didn't waste my money on those cards.

If any of you have any ideas on how to solve my problem, please help me !!!

Thanks in advance.

well i got my 1gb kingmax mmc card and my n-gage now.. works great, although i've only got around 110mb of stuff on it so far.. it does however seem to make the phone run a little slow. i was using a 32mb kodak mmc card from my digital camera while i was waiting on the delivery of the kingmax card and compared to the kingmax card, the n-gage seemed to run faster on the kodak.

256 digitren... going to buy 512... on qd.. it`s ok.. no lagging..
