hi just surfing the net and found this interesting little forum 1st id like to say hi 2nd is i can help any1 with the W.S.O.D as i work for nokia i no how to fully flash all s40, s60 & 9200 communicator i cant tell you how cause you'll need the hardware i have the griffin box 2 cost me 605 euro's so if any1 wants my help contact me at [email][email protected][/email] plz put the subject as flash help or something similar thanks for reading bye 😃

For the Flash Guru...get me at [email][email protected][/email] Had the frigging WSOD the next hour I bought my phone and it positively had me going nuts...What's the flashing about anyway? Excuse a newbie here buddy!!

For everybody here that troubling from WSOD, here is the easy solution.

Reformat your phone.

Type this codes and feel how fresh your phone will become:

*#7780# - Reset to the original settings; some informations are also deleted and need to be re-entered.

*#7370# - Soft format - this will resets all the phone memory (like re-format a disk); make sure to have full battery charged !

also...

[Green]+[def3]+[*+] during a power on performs a hard format : this will return the phone like you have received; make sure to have full battery charged !

note: use the codes with care. I'm not responsible for any damage. I've done it myself, after the WSOD thing, and my phone is like new again.

If you succeed please post it here so others would know. Thank you.

Hi All,

I also would like to know how to flash my n-gage. I don't believe that this is ilegal if you just set you memory to cero so that the N-Gage can boot up again. So please email me under my Palopeztiscali.de.
It would be great because I got my WSOD (White Screen of Death) since a week an the Nokia Dealer wants 35 Euros.

Below way doesn't work with my phone. When do I need to enter the codes. I mean I do have only my white screen with the nokia logo. Right after pushing on the power switch? Ho can I see that is taking the code. I really think the only way is to flash it.

I was thinking about how simple to handle this issue is. WSOP. A simple program integrated in PC-Nokia-Suite, which updates the N-Gage via Bluetooth (you need to have a n USB-Bluetooth-Stick). Either it installs a installation-stop if memory is going to be low, or a three button reset solution or etc.
Isn't Nokia interested to solve this WSOP issue? How can it be, that a new design was created, QD, and such a big bug was not considered to be eliminated?
Who can tell me a reason for such a stupid item.

well I don't get the wsod yet but I do have something sorta related.
I got this phone off ebay and it is littered with Tmobile logos programs and crap all over it.. I use cingular.. I don't want either ones icons on the phone how can I remove them???

well dang.. this morinng wsod.... I did a quick format the last tie I used the phone.. nothing has been installed to the phone... not sure what coul dhave cuase it..

Hey you can't flash ownself because nobody can flash without unique equipments , but you can flash N-Gage memory by " *#7370# " and then put your security code 😃 ...

and then enjoy .. your all mobiles settings are rest to Factory Default and all mobile's memory gone

I have the same wsod problem, obviously for me it's impossible to insert codes to erase the memory, so I have only the solution to flash n gage memory.

For the n-gage the combination of [Green]+[def3]+[*+] won't work.

If there is a solution without spending money( it is used, and I have no warranty), please tel to me.

Here I start to think that symbyan is a very bad and buggy, and very very unsecure software, I don't really understand how it's possible to release a sotware so instable and the thing that I really can't understand is why nokia in a lot of years dont have developed a solution....everyone who buy an n gage must pay for a bug? Or it is nokia that must pay? It is the first nokia I buy ( and I'm very disattisfied.

Please if there is a solution can you send me a private message.�

I dont really understand you.....common sense is to release a pach that resolve this bug, or to sell products and software able to work properly, there are software and games that write directly in the memory, and nokia is not able to reserve a little part of memory for making symbian running? There are people that dont know what is a ram, a rom, an hd ecc and for this people common sense is to pay for something that works.

I start to understand why n gage in my country is not diffused...the same problem on ngage qd, and probably in the next version of engage we will find this problem again....very serius company.

Remember that much engage users are young person and use it to play, they are not tecnician, and they don't expect that theyr gamedeck die for a memory problem.
