Big problems with new firmware

I do upgrade only with official firmware and no beta, and however I use new official firmware only since a day. I don't says that reception bug hasn't been resolved, but some (few) friends told that that reception doesn't work at 100% too...

I must my opinion only after some days...

the thing is: why didn't you ban Javex from your forums ? It was obvious he was just trying to give sendo a bad name. That's why karkarlo and other users left your forums and started their own. They told me the reception was fine. Now that the firmware is out, the reception suddenly is bad you say? That's a little off there pal. I must say i've become very suspicious of 'the italians' since the javeX incident.
And also, i hardly believe that you didn't have the beta. You are the moderator and everybody was sending each other PM's on your forum to send each other the firmware. and you didn't join that group? come oon 😉 😉 😉

First, that isn't *my* forum... I'm moderator but not for my choose and I have very little time to handle that forum...

Second, I don't banned Javex because he is too excessive in his words against Sendo X, but more o less he says real bugs of handset, then...
However, I had advised to others of ignore him if he provoke them...

Third, I don't used beta firmware because I waiting for official firmware, do you believe it? No? You think how want...

Fourth, how I alrteady said, I cannot rate new firmware because it's too a little time... however, till now most of owners had told that reception bug has resolved but some (a few) had told that sometime it happened bug too... then, *perhaps* reception bug still exists, unfortunately...

However, I want to add that till now navigation has improved too, and with SmartMovie v2.44 start to be sufficient good to utilize it 😊 beside Michal Baick of SmartMovie has received your Sendo X then he can work on it 😊

I totally agree with you on this point, when the sendo x was first anounced, I kept reading that the release date kept getting put back again and again because sendo wanted to make sure the phone was relaesed and worked first time with little or no problems.

Because of this I delayed upgrading my phone untill I received my sendo over a month ago and I have had nothing but problems with it, the main problem bieng the phone freezing often and having to take the battery off to reboot it, and sms messages not coming through sometimes untill the phone is switched off and then back on again at which point they come through as soon as signal is established.

I did also have reception problems but that is the one thing that seems to have been improved (for me anyway) with the new firmware.

And yes people are going to want to have their money back if the problems are not solved within a reasonable time period otherwise the only thing this expensive sophisticated piece of hardware is good for is gathering dust in a drawer while everybody who ownes one reverts back to their old phone.

Dont get me wrong though, I think the phone has potential, but it must work correctly for that potential to be realised.

we released SmartMovie version 2.46, which works fine on SendoX. You can find it here: www.lonelycatgames.com/mobile/smartmovie.

You may need to get firmware upgrade for your SendoX if it has real performance problems, but generally it should work as on other phones.

Guys, please. NO FLAMING. Everyone in here is clever, with good reports on the X and other programs it uses. We are all here to get THE BEST S60 phone.

Now that the firmware is out, lets get it even better. Another firmware will be out, so will some Themes, and also a PC Connect update.

Don't get banned by the moderators or you will miss out! 😮

Also, if I can only see these bad posts, not people needing some help, I will stop posting. I think this is good for all of us - do Nokia or Siemens do this? No. So don't spoil it.

1) then you are saying that at the moment there is no real possibility to change theme, and that nokia 7.0 themes are not supported, and that nobody (apart from you) knows how to create themes (you want to sell nice ones, I can understand)

2) about flicker:

every minute the now screen redraws, every time you use joypad and move a cursor if flickers.

so, I answer as I did:

if you can't see the flicker (which is in every screen when you move cursor, wher calls arrives and so on ) do this:

go to GALLERY, select a Photo and zoom it.

Then, move it with cursors: what you see is FLICKERING. It can be avoided with a tecnique called DOUBLE BUFFERING. Nokia 7650-> does'nt flicker. Games doesn't flicker because game developer implements there own double-buffering.

can you understand now?

PS: I have purchased a final version of the phone, and the seller change it with another one: both had the same problems (you know all problems...) ok ?

the screen flickering at me is when time changes, you see the square with the minutes on flicker for an instant every minute.

but it really doesn't bother me. I thought it was normal.

People who think the Sendo X is awful with its bugs, here is what a 6600 user told me:

No, I am not joking with you... I am trying to help, and understand where the problem is. You said the screen is flickering. That sounded really bad, like a hardware problem. Now you have explained where it is happening. That is good. Someone can check into it properly.

Themes:
No, at the moment, there are no new themes on the website. They will come soon.
I think that the firmware (and so the ability to install themes) was more important to release first.

And tried to press the # button? it works since nokia 8310 always the same way. My 6600 works fine, even turn abc mode.

And you... with sendoX have you noticed that while writing a message SMS there is no Character Counter ? I think this is a missing, but I want to reflect:

if nokia 7650 (same s.o as sendo x) has the counter, why sendo X (which has the same indentical program for writing messages) has not?

u said this firmware has the ability to accept more themes. can we create our own themes or use modified themes from other series 60 devices? i tried installing a modified theme, it was installed into c:\system\skins\Foldername
but it never showed up as a theme in the options.

i think it will have to be special sendo X themes which will be able to be created with a theme creator supplied by sendo.

i tried smartmovie 2.46, but in movies, the sound gets terrible cracking again. First i get these little ticks in the sound, then i get horrible cracking which end up in little ticks again. Hopefully the new firmware will solve this 😊

btw,

don't use 'force mono' in the converter. I tried to convert a movie sample of 15 megs. Force mono was 701kb, without force mono (stereo and you DO hear the difference) 702 kb, lol. So the size doesn't really matter when it comes to stereo.

could anyone else test smartmovie?

can you add that sms messages are not being received when they should, I have to switch the phone off then on again sometimes to receive them, I have to do this several times a day,

moreover, i found out today that i i still can't receive calls/sms when playing mp3. i won't accept formatting anymore, i've don it enough. This should be fixed.

now to say, i also missed a call on mp3 with the beta.

sometimes, after i stop playing mp3's, back in now screen, it's impossible to receive calls/sms, eventhough i have full reception on the reception meter.

Hi Plinkykev, I think that is more necessary diverge work on next firmware still on reception bug instead on other bugs, unlikely...

Didn't someone say somewhere that in the next release there will be even more fixes for reception / call receiving etc?

I for one haven't had the problem where I can't receive calls while / after playing MP3s, that's always worked for me 😊

Me too. The only problem I've had with the MP3 player is that it sometimes crashes when I'm trying to compile very long play lists.
