Big problems with new firmware

so when will be the new firmware (next one)?

i'm considering selling sx1 and buy sendoX... 🙄

same like me. My 7650 is quite broken and I was waiting for the Sendo X. But because it was not available, I must took the Sx1 ! What a stupid keyboard :con?
At last, two weeks later, Sendo was here. The first day I was a little unhappy - but now I like that device very much. One reason is this forum here and the chance to move something. I do miss the SX1 any second. 😊

i used the X heavily today in GPRS : with email, Wayfinder, and agile messenger.

the thing is this:

i was starting up the connection with agile messenger and quicly changing to my mailbox to check if i had new mails while messenger was connecting to msn.

but the gprs connection broke. So did the normal receiving.

So i have to stay in one program, cause when i go out, i totally lose the GPRS connection. That's pretty bad...

It seems there are some GPRS problems that still need to be solved.

i would suggest making a gprs connection outside of the programs on the phone. So you can decide independently wether you want to turn off your GPRS or not.
I pay 50 eurocents for every GPRS connection made, so you can say i lost a lot of money today (about 20 connections made 😞 )

what are your experiences with GPRS? If any of you have this also i will add this to the buglist. Maybe it is the network, but i hardly think so. The network i have is the highest rated over here...

Yes, there are still problems with GPRS, especially with when it drops the connection - this causes the whole network connection to drop.

I reported this to PK a few days ago, and he assures me people from Sendo are looking into the problem.

I don't think these have been posted before, but the thread is quite long so forgive me if I am repeating someone else.

-MP3 player shuffle system isn�t very good; I always get them in the same order! If I �mark all� the songs in my memory card and press �Load Selection� they are always played in the same order (i.e. track x then track y etc). The first one played is always the first song alphabetically despite it being on random. This is really annoying. Also you can�t skip song by pressing down unless the mp3 is 5 seconds into the song! Otherwise the song just restarts!

-An annoying problem is that the backlight takes about 2 seconds to come on after pressing a button. Is it possible to improve this? Its not the end of the world, but it would be nice if it could be sped up.

-When multi tasking and playing mp3�s the music is constantly interrupted although only for a small time normally. I was hoping the SoniX chip would sort this. Is it possible to make the sound a higher priority and make the other applications slower? This is what the SX1 does, and it is really good. You don�t need full speed for sending a text or taking a picture.

-The PTT button on the stereo headset doesn�t do anything while the MP3 player is active. My SL45i used to pause/play on a push, and if you held it down it would skip to the next song. That would be very useful if that could be added.

-It needs Airplane mode; so you can use it to either free up memory or for hospitals/planes. I have been allowed onto various airlines with my SL45i because I took the SIM out. I don�t see why this phone doesn�t have Airplane mode.

-Some noises are still played in silent mode. Like if you are in silent and then choose the same profile again a bleep is played!

Hmmmm,

I think some of your problems are not bugs but things to make the phone better,

I think I will start a wish list thread, and anything like that can go in there,

anybody who can think of something they want added or something to change the way the phone works can add it into the wish list and hopefully Kev can forward it to the development team at sendo.

Cash, i added his problems to the bug list,

you choose things from the bug list which you see as wish list and make it in a new wish list, also adding all the thing people have suggested here to make the phone better.

then i will delete the wishes from the bug list and we will both be happy people 😊 :icon14: 😎

I would say that only numbers 19 and 20 on your list should go on the wish list, I would consider everything else as bugs.

Installed app, seems to work and you can access some menu options in this flight mode, however even though SIM isnt in the phone handsets can still page the network - eg in an emergency some networks allow 999 calls even if there isnt a SIM inserted thus it may actually have an ability to page a network even without a sim. Will pass on to PK to test with sendos RF guys as i am not certain

It may be worth getting in touch with the software developers aswell, if calls can still be made (even thought they are just emergancy calls) this is breaking the aviation laws and thus rendering the software useless.

Hi! mp3 crackling noise just comes back after a while. it happens in Smartmovie too.

I miss an equalizer on the mp3 player, hope they add it on the next firmware

This is unlikely as it would probably take up too much CPU time.

Please add to bug list:

animated gifs flicker alot when viewing with sendo. and dont loop. very annoying when receiving mms with animated gifs.

There is a bug in the Now! screen with the shown undone tasks. The Now! screen counts all task, also the done tasks, too � and not only the outstanding tasks.

I was wondering after few workfull days, that the undone tasks becomes not fewer. 😉

For some reason whenever my phone rings it always uses the Sendo_Ring even though I have selected my own from the menu. It shows my personal one in the general profile but doesn't play it. I do change profile a lot - from silent to general etc maybe this could be the reason...

That is the most likely cause, remember you can attribute different ringtones to different profiles. Therefore when you switch between more than one you may not have allocated the ringtone to one of the profiles which would then remain the standard

No no, all the profiles ringtones are franz ferdinand, but whenever it rings the Sendo_Ring is played. What I meant was I switch between Silent to General a lot, and that may have been causing it. This is a bug...

It plays fine when i am in the list (leave the selection on it and it will play).

EDIT: I selected a different tone for each profile and then went back and chose franz ferdinand for each one and now it seems to be working. I'll post if I hear that stupid Sendo_Ring again!

Use pretty much everything else though

i still have two major bugs that arent fixed with the new FW
1. when i have the phone on vibratiion and somebody calls and i answer the phone, the phone still keeps vibrating for a few seconds
2. when i turn off all the warning tones it still gives out that annoying sound when i delete a program or when it cant connect to a BT device or something! i thought no warning tones means NO warning tones! i never had a phone that didnt get that part right. i think sendo should get that part right !!
anyways i am still quite happy with my phone😊
