one more day 😎
Big problems with new firmware
i dont have screen caller on my phone and it also keeps rebooting when charging up, i have to leave the phone on when charging, as if i switch the phone off it reboots all the time so i have to take battery out or leave on so its a bug
it's not a bug,
you will have the autoexec file standing somewhere on your phone. check your C: for it.
i'll prove it to you: format your phone, then try to charge when the X is off, it will charge. (DO NOT format with 5, format with the special code)

Today I removed the autoexec file for FSCaller but still my phone reboots when charging. Seems to be something else I think....
that might be, but then there might be other applications wanting to startup at boot. What i advise is a format and then one by one a reinstallation of the applications on your phone.
that way you can see which application makes your phone reboot.
i must repeat it is not a bug in the phone, but merely an incompatability with applications made for other Symbian devices.
Hi all,
Just got my brand new X from Vodafone a couple of days ago!
Still finding my way around, but I've noticed a small bug(ette) when composing SMS'es using the T9 predictive text in that after you've inserted a comma the X capitalises the next word, which as we all know isnt correct grammar.
I've experienced a few of the other issues mentioned in this thread, such as the backlight taking a few seconds to come on after hitting a key, vibration continuing after you've answered a call.
Also, was rather worried after the phone completely died one night, and nothing seemed to be able to revive it! however I left it without the battery for a few hours which seemed to recover it.
Cheers,
/Neil/
i've noticed that turning off bluetooth has increased battery life for an extra 24 hours.
in stead of 36 hours, it now lasts 60 hours.
:icon14: 😊
the other bugs you mention are being dealt with in the next firmware.
May god continue to bless the firmware !

Sendo do advise to close applications and funtions to help battery duration on their online support!
I have my second sendo X after first one appeared to have batery probs....
now I feel that this one has the same probs... I noticed one thing in the batery: it apears to be manufactured in 2003/12/20!!!! What date is written in yours batery?????
My batery is dead in 24h+10h~12h hours! and only in sms and 10 min talk! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

my battery says: 2004/03/15 FAJ2287
oh my god...
I think that's why my batery sucks! it's one year old! grrrrrrrrrrr
yes, but the difference between yours and mine is only 3 months, which is about 1/4th of a year...
so i wouldn't worry there.
the trick is to fully decharge, then fully charge, then fully decharge the battery again and repeat this cycle for 3-4 times with a new battery. Then the battery is much stronger.

oh man, you think i didn't that????
by the way I ALWAYS do full recharged and full discharge! 😎
this is a batery problem, don't forget that my software version is 1.66 which is newer than yours...
bateries die by them selfs if not charged for long periods...
Doh!
That its part correct but not really relevant as the batteries only contain residual charge whilst on the retail shelves and it is not until you charge it for the first few times until it becomes "optimised" and then the degredation may occur (but that takes hundreds of charges (whilst using discharge/charge maintenance every now and then)).
So even though the battery may show a build date of nearly a year ago it isnt really relevant as you didnt optimise it until you charged it for the first few times.

yesterday my phone lasted 48 hours. 😊 so that's kinda ok for me.
don't use the bluetooth and keep it locked, that's what did it for me...
😡

duh!!!!
then how do you explain the fact that the batery only lasts for less than 36 hours????????
man don't post without knowning a ***** . Can you tell me your numbers in the batery?
And as I told you, this is my third sendo (my first one didn't had portuguese menus as the seller said to me so I return it, but batery was very good!), my second one had this problem with batery, I went back to the seller and changed it and now same problems! oh and btw, this two have 1.66 firmware!
Do come with the crap of "optimise" because the second sendo I had it for two weeks and batery NEVER EVER IMPROVED! In fact, I can tell you that my first charge was the one that last long! and I only use the phone for sms, NO calls, 5 photos, NO MP3 NO camera, NO sound, and still batery dies in less than 36 hours!

I don't even use bluetooth! 😞
It's hardware problem and I gonna have to change again ... going for a fourth!
Can more ppl post here their numbers/date that is written on your batery? 🙄

Don't blaze me! I am only trying to help!
Symbian handsets are notorious in having problems with battery consumption. Mine lasts for usually 100 hours on standby without use.
Obviously battery duration depends on network conditions (e.g. proximity and set-up of local base stations), application use, call duration, sms/mms use, bluetooth etc.
FYI my battery was 2003/11/26 and i followed the optimisation instructions in user guide by discharging/recharging fully a few times then doing the same about every week or so and mine has been fine.

sorry if I was too mad... it's just I am a like bit frustrated, because I was expecting bug in software but not problem with the batery! 😡
btw thx for replying 😊

Date: 26/11/2003
Ref: FBC4458
Bought less than two months ago, no trouble with battery (by now). At the beginning, it lasted too short (I used to connect it to charger everytime I was at my office); but two charge-discharge cycles solved it, and I try not to connect it to mains if it's not needed.
Greetings.

even if i charged the batery without being empety or used the phone very very much... but noooo 😞

For what it's worth, my phone is just over a month old and came from eXpansys, and the battery is 2003/12/19 FAH1494.
So far I've alway fully charged and fully flattened it, and with the phone on for an average of 14-15hrs per day it now lasts me about 4 days, which is just about acceptable. I don't use the comms that heavily, and Bluetooth only rarely, but that vital business app. 'One for All' solitaire gets quite a bit of use.
where has the patch been boys ? another week has passed by now.. :frown:

buffff..... 😞((
perhaps is the mystical patch :P

2003/12/05 is whats on mine.
Battery life depends massively on network conditions. For example at my Uni house I have a very good signal and the phone doesn't ever drop a bar with my use (which normally is a bit of the camera, few games, few SMS and a couple of calls) but at my perminant home address the signal varies a lot and often the phone will drop two bars in the same time and same usage.

Duh....... Has anyone tried the pumpkin patch?
ok ok..... I guess it's not coming, yet, DAMN
I can't believe I have this much patience since my phone is for business use. Many people have waited, and I have been VERY close to getting rid of this thing. Panasonic phones I guess will always rule the market with reliable technology. I should have waited.
now that 60 firmware is finally here,
let's test the firmware on the bug list. (on the first page)
can everyone test them and post findings? if solved, will be added to list. if not, they will stay on the list 😊

No, let's make a new topic, and keep it on topic. ( we can use my release 60 thread if you want)
