Hey I think this is the time we should take care ful step and find the way that how to protect against the corruption of OS.

What i have suggestion to find how to write the .sis for installing font and Font remover to remove the fonts.

I have only 4 .sis font files out of which i use modern.sis with my 3650.

I have tried to copy comic.gdr manuallyu about whuch i also found in that forum that it is not working. but i am not going to chk any other .gdr because of that.

SHoudnt we try to find how these .sis files are created and and how to write one.
or from where these .sis files came from this should help every 1.

I think it would be only happenes in Series 60 Version 1. Bcoz Version 2 like N6600, 7610, 6260, 6630, 6670 etc etc are having formating which can done by user if he face the problem.

I think sis files are only unpackers, it maybe just some basic coding to extract the PACKED files to certain directories. But i doubt this would not cause Corruption as well. Manual or SIS file, i dont know if it will be safer with both. Just thinking out loud. 😉

I think what vicky meant is that 3660, 3650, 7650 (and those of the same OS version) phones needed to boot up first to format compared to other above mentioned phones where u would just hold some keys then formatting will be executed. Can anyone who had the 4 (3, 2, 1) blink(s) problem on the 6600, 7610, 6260, 6630, 6670 and the likes confirm this?

hey when ever I make sis file with makesis utility.. it juz adds my gdr file to c:\system\fonts.....

I am really pissed off.. what do i do? help me guyzz..

Yes you can, provided you're ready to take the risk if your phone dies on you (such cases can be seen in this thread).

My N3660 also caNNOT BE REPAIRED. tHEY SAY THEY HAVE TO CAHNGE THE FLSAH ic OF THE PHONE WHICH IS NOT AVAILABLE

I hadnt done much experiences with my nokia 3650..

I tried to change phones with tahoma and modern .sis files..

and both time, i survived 😃
my nokia 3650 is working great with modern font presently..

love to have this font view

it was mentioned that the process stated in this thread works with 6630.. does it works the same with 6680?

i tested them (procedures).. and did not get the menu, standy and most system fonts to change. i used prime.gdr font.

In the calendar apps, the numbers font change, the standard screensaver (tim&date) font change.. in the FExplorer apps, the fonts changed also..

i went to z:\system\fonts folder and saw the following files..
browsewur.gdr
caleur.gdr
ceurope.gdr
11x12_latin.gdr
15x16_latin.gdr

what does this means? do i have to some what imitate the filenames at the c: drive.

BTW, i posted a thread on my problem with the free memory of my 6680. Possibly you have some point of view.. I am glad to hear them.

I just went to NOKIA service center and asked for an upgrade of my 6680 software. It is now version 3.04.37. And everything now is fine.. from free memory to changing its fonts.

TIP:
For those who are having problems with changing fonts for S60 series phones.. try upgrading the phone's OS. then try changing the font again.

I have a 6680 but all those step is not working i am using a chinese dictionary as well so maybe having chinese dictionary cannot run these fonts? It only works in the FFExplorer and not the messages. I have the 3.04.37. firmware as well

Hi!, I'm just uploading a unicode font that I'm using for those that may want to be able to for example view Japanese characters and still be able to read other characters like the Swedish ���.
I'm using this on my swedish Nokia 6630, and it works perfectly! I can read both Japanese and Swedish characters.

yeah i found a good font on the website below it would look really sweet too. my friends is trying hardware hack his phone and manually put it on to see what it looks like.
