Bluetooth - 7650 -> PC Problem solved in the WidComm stac

156 replies · 51,148 views · Started 10 October 2002

i have a blueFRITZ! module which i managed after updating the drivers to get the 7650 conected & paired to the computer...but that is all i managed to do..now i am stuck!!

what is the next step...re-install pcsuite, install mrouter, the computer does not have the option send to bluetooth when i right click a file and the 7650 does no send to the computer either. I get an error something about one connection is allowed only (even though there is only one connection between the pc and phone with the indicator showing full signal strengh)

Malebuffy, I've checked my drivers and it appears that I have an older version than you (v. 1.2.1.20) and can't send from phone to PC.
Could you possibly post a zipped version of the drivers, or a link to where you downloaded the more recent version please?

I've tried looking on the Widcomm website, but I don't see any drivers for anything there....pathetic!

Thanks in advance 😉

wow this forum is so good. imean we all feel like one family all helping each other out.

keep it up people.

this should last 4evaaaa

😃

The newer driver (posted by MaleBuffy), does give the phone the ability to send to the PC. For those that are upgrading from an older driver, you must first of all uninstall the previous one, else the newer driver doesn't install since it thinks it's already there and then change the "AcceptOther" in the registry as mentioned in previous posts. J2theIZZO, perhaps this would be good to add to the FAQ?

Now that my phone sends to the PC? Can someone tell me where the file is getting sent to? I don't get any confirmation from the PC that any files have been sent, but the phone seems happy that it has done its job!

Go to bluetoth -- setup ---- Information Exchange Tab

there are some paths, if I am not mistaken, the Images are send the the Business card path the third one! 😊

ok, being a dumbarse who regularly makes a mess of these things i thought id better check the bobby moore here.....

I appear to be running old widcomm 1.5.9 (?)

So, do i go to device manager, usb jobbie and uninstall driver ? then install the nice shiny new ones provided by your kind selves ???

TIA

Thanks a Million Mazevedo. Worked like a charm!! Actually ... even better! as i did not even have to change the registry value. It was already set to accept other!! ( Strange??? 😮 And yes ..i downloaded the same version as was described ( 1.2.2.16. )

Had a minor problem initiating the installation though. It (TECOM Bluetooth Software 1.2.2.16.msi ) was asking for licence key  which i ofcourse dint have 😉 . Had to use the exe in the package .. and it went fine.

I'm sure ur instructions will help lot many frustrated souls here 😃

Geezzz Guys!!!

Why haven't I found this page before??

I got the MSI pc2pc Bluetooth transceivibg key and I was sweating for 3 whole days to get it working, it works now....somehow....

I still got some error messages

When I start up my PC I get: ERROR: unable to start the bt stack service

............HUH?????

And when I try to make connection to my phone it says that the phone has closed the connection but I am connected anyway??

Does anyone else have these problems or knows how to solve them???

Greetzzz
Hi all!

I've manage to discover what kept the Widcomm stack from accepting files from the 7650 back to the PC. Using an utility that came with my dongle (BtServerSpyLite) I've manage to discover why some of us can send info from the 7650 to the PC and others don't.

Using the Spy tool, I discovered that the bluetooth stack determines the what is the file type it's about to receive . That's why you can send a contact into your PC and not an image.

So, tweaking with the registry, I've manage to find the correct key that makes this work:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Widcomm\BTConfig\Services\0004

In this key folder, you'll find another key, named:

"AcceptOther" <-- that (on those that cannot send files is set to '0x0000000'😉

Just set this key to 0x0000001.

Some folks actually don't have this key (AcceptOther), so that's why this worked for some and others didn't.

I just don't know about potential security risks, but I believe that if you set a notification whether to warn you about files being sent to you computer to be sufficient.
hi! i don't seem to have AcceptOther in my 0004 folder 😞 pls help.

Till now I was just watching, but this forum is cool, so here I am:

I get the same message as you(Im using acer BT 500, which has widcomm drivers too), no startup of the BT Stack possible and device closed connection.

If you press the repeat button at the startup it will work. For the connection that gets closed, just wait a little, bluetooth seems to be slow with connections, after 10 seconds it connects anyhow.

I hope the new software (if any is planned) will solve all this, we will see, bluetooth is still young and buggy!

Exactly! 😉 will this also allow Nokia PC suite to work?

after installing the nwest version of BT software and let windows connect to a BTserialport the computer shows a message the phone is connected to COM0 (???) after a second or so another message apears and says that the phone has been disconnected. i tried other versions, also the original that came with my package but none of them works. the very first time i connected my bleutooth it came with COM5 and PC suite recognized the phone

but,
i can connect to the Public Folder and sent stuff to my phone but can't sent straight from the phone.

i hope i'm not the only one with this problem and that there is a solution

thnx in advance

mazevedo tip on site 1 and 2 works fine on this device, i had the version 1.2.2.9 and it didnt work but after mazevedo tip everythings fine.NOTE the terrible PC suite doesnt work because of the win XP. 😃

i have msi usb bt, can now send bidirectionaly, thanks to mazavedo for that, but still having problems with pc suite to 7650 via bluetooth. mrouter cant seem to find any connection

cool now my billionton bt works perfect

but now my software is tecom not billionton anymore but who cares it;s still uses the widcomm just the name changed

😃 😃 😃 😃

i;m very happy now

I just bought one of the Racewood Bluetooth USB Dongle,
I can get it to send files through blue tooth but not view the phone neither will mrouter show it as connected and I've tried all the ports.
Nokia suite wont see it cus Mrouter dont,, :x BlueTooth@? Blue Nightmare.. InfraRed never had this problem!

using a dlink it work for me - does anyone know how to get it to connect to pc suite thru blue tooth instead of irda?
please please !!!!
