Please help! I have an EPOX dongle made by widcomm I think. I can send pretty much everything from the PC to my phone and I can send business cards from the phone to the PC... but no images!
I read all the above thread twice, tried to change the HKEY register entry thingy and I didn't have the AcceptOther file.
Help! What can I do?
i've got the same dongle and it works fine, you need to download the updated drivers, http://www.billionton.com/ and they work fine.

Yeah, I've got it sorted now. I actually downloaded the MSI drver file which is 10MB instead of 16MB. Worked first time, thanks again!!!
Added AcceptOther to both HKeyLocalMachine and HkeyCurrentUser and still no dice. can send vcards, but nothing else 😞 ANy more tips?! I've tried everything I can think of
Can somebody help me with this problem with my Belkin USB bluetooth adapter.
I have downloaded the latest MSI drivers but am unsure about how to install them - do i just follow the procedure as if they were the ones on the disc?
thanks for your help

Just install it, like it came with the package.

That usually does not help anything if you add those keys by hand, if those are not already there.
1.Remove AcceptOther, (just to see that the new install adds those).
2.Install new drivers.
3.And then, check the keys that those are created and have the correct values.
Hi all,
I just wanted to let you all know about my experiences with getting my MSI Bluetooth adapter to work with PC Suite v1.2.0 on Win XP SP1
I have got all to work together, but only after downloading the latest software pack from the MSI site not the Widcomm site.
If you try the link:
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/per/per/pro_per_detail.php?UID=326&MODEL=MS-6967
Then click on Driver (the latest file was called bt49.exe and was 17 Mb is size)
I checked in the BT software once installed and set the mrouter to connect on the local serial port connection (Com 5 in my case).
Now I can send and recieve to and from the 7650 pictures, files, sound files and the rest.
I can also synchronise with Outlook, the only problems I have are the occational one when I start my laptop with the BT adapter already connected, I have to remove and replug and all works fine.
Bob
Thanks for all your help: the MSI drivers worked!
When i shut down my computer it used to say Local Area Connection disconnected. Now it says Local area connection 2.
I have checked in Control Panel, but the original connection has been removed, but if i rename it to just "Local Area Connection" it stops working.
Any ideas why this is happening?
The LAN conenction is for a Bluetooth LAN connection, unless you enable this it will remain disconnected.
As mine is now working (almost correctly - my BT device occationally stops responding forcing me to remove and replug the dongle in), so I am not going to mess with the BT LAN settings myself, but I suggest that you sould look into the settings by right clicking on the BT icon in the tray and choosing advanced configuration. You could try disabling My Network Access from My Bluetooth Places\My Device.
Good luck
Bob
Hi guys,
Been reading this thread with interest. I've eventually got my P800 sending to the PC (occasionally fails but works most of the time).
I'm able to connect the Serial link and then browse the web on the phone over my shared PC connection but the BT serial link keeps disconnecting after 34 secs everytime..
I'm also unable to send anything from the PC to my phone, how should I be doing this? Using sed to Bluetooth says I don't have FTP service on the phone.
I'm using P800 with Bluetake BT dongle (Latest Widcomm drivers - 1.3. something).. Tried on XP and 2000.
Any ideas? Thanks.
Hi there,
I have read nearly all posts regarding bluetooth connection probs, but I there are still a few points I don't get 😮ops: (gigabyte dongle):
I installed the drivers from the cd (widcomm 1.2.2.9). PC Suite worked fine, but couldn't send anything from the phone to the PC.
I tried the registry -> no AcceptOther, so I got the new drivers from gigabyte's site (widcomm 1.3.2.7).
I managed to send files to the PC but I cannot get the PC Suite to work.
When i go to My Bluetooth Places it reports "No local Bluetooth Device detected".
I managed to initiate a connection from the phone, so I paired the device (and transfered an image).
Then I tried to search for services on the phone -> nothing!
Should I try any of the other drivers/software mentioned here (from msi, billionton, etc), should I install the older driver but with the new software?
Has anyone else figured it out (for the gigabyte dongle)?
I am using XP and PC Suite 1.2.0
Thanks in advance!
Pal, I LOVE YOU 😊 It worked!!!!
I finally figured it out !!! 😃
There is a problem with the 1.3.2.7 drivers from Gigabyte!
I checked the 1.3.2.7 drivers from Billionton and after some digging, I managed to find that there are 2 dlls that are different in the corresponding "Disk1.cab" files.
These are: btsec.dll and F84085_btsec.dll!
The working ones are those included in the Billionton drivers, so anyone using the Gigabyte dongle should get the Billionton drivers.
(I think that the difference between the 2 versions of the Billionton drivers is about the name of the software: The B version reports "Billionton Bluetooth Software" & "Billionton USB Bluetooth Device" while the N version reports "Bluetooth Software" & "CSR USB Bluetooth Device"😉
As an experiment, I replaced the cab file in the Gigabyte drivers with the one from Billionton and it worked just fine !!! 😃 😃
Keep up the good work!!!
I'm sow happy about it that now i install that billionton drivers everything is working perfect..
I have a Epox dongle and they don't update there drivers on the page, but the 1.2.2.9 had so much problems that i had to find a new one..
And that was the amazing good looking and perfect working billionton driver 😃
Gone mail Epox about it, that they should look at the newer drivers..
And what about the folks who don't have it at all, the key in their registry?
I have driver version 1.2.4, do you know where I can upload to the newest ?
Thanks
I registered just to thanks to the people here that have solved my BT problems!
I am using a Belkin usb BT adapter with my laptop with the pc suite software that came with my 7650.
I tried doing it by the book, and managed to get it connected twice...once when my bluetooth taskbar program was in the process of crashing and hanging, and again out of the blue for no apparant reason.
Installed new version of pc suite. Still didnt recognize my phone, but trying to connect serially (get errors) would kick start mrouter into finding a connection, thus letting me use pc suite...
Tried new belkin drivers. Still couldnt send from phone to pc.
used a link here to some 1.2.2.15 msi drivers (?), and followed instructions for editing registry, and voila! It works!
Only thing I cant do that I could at some point before is right click on something, and choose "send to" bluetooth...it doesnt see my phone. Doesnt really matter though, cos I can drop stuff into the public folder and it gets there anyway, just a little more hassle....
Thanks again guys!!!

You can add that key by yourself with regedit.exe. Try it.
It doesn't help to add it if its not already there,it has been mentioned thousands of times, couple of posts up by Jyrik,it wouldn't hurt to read the posts you know.
Guys, just get the bilington drivers, the seem to works perfectly well with all adaptors based on the Wildcomm stack.I'm using them with the MSI key and they work just fine.

the dongle is of a friend of mine. is a product of mediacom (http://www.wellcome.it/Prodotti/ProdSheet.asp?IDProd=937). i dont know more about the brand. the driver with the key are of widcomm. i tried that. i tryed th last drivers of widcomm (1.3.2.7 i thnik). i tried other drivers ( tdk, msi, ecc). i would try the billinton driver. but i think there will be the same... i tryed the registry modify, but nothing.. i see the connectiong for 2,3 seconds and than "no services found" for the phone..i can think it's a problem of win xp.. i havent service pack1. i can try this. the dongle is working with other pc.. it's perferct everything...
I can't think of anything else, sorry 😞 My MSI key works fine with WinXP SP1.

Is that possible, i mean is that my driver version? PC suite doesn't seem to work and now I'm downloading newest MSI bluetooth drivers. Hope that wil do it...
New post: just installed new drivers. My bluetooth places works properly, but when I try to set up a serial connection with 3650 (which is set on COM4) there pops up a window which tells me:
"the bluetooth serial port COM0 is now configured to connect to the device 3650.. The application that will use this conenction must be configured to use COM0"
whenever I click the "OK button" then there'e a window that tells me that my device closed the connection
Problem 2: when I want to choose COM0 in mrouter: there is NO, only starts from com1!
Please help, I'm doing this for 10 days now and am desperate! What should I do??
