Yes they are if you look you can see they are reduced size.

Just reading the specs on the MMC+ cards (mmc plus where also supposed to be MMC4 dual votage) http://www.kingmaxdigi.com/product/MMCP.htm
Supply Voltage: 3.3V(1.8V optional)
Seems strange :/
No read again 😉 . Look at the size of the card. A MMC card is 24 x 32 x 1.4 mm :icon4: and this MMCplus card is 24 x 32 x 1.4 mm. The RD-MMC cards are 18 x 24 x 1.4 mm, so this mmc+ card would not fit in our Nokia 6630's.
Still waiting for larger dv-rs-mmc's... 🙄

Oops... wrong link... The MMC Mobile cards will fit in your nokia 6630 :icon4: The right size and the right voltage :icon14:

Decided to put off buying an iPod shuffle, will probably wait for a PSP and get that in March instead (I have 3 512Mb MS Duos doing nothing). 128Mb is OK, but it still ain't enough, and look at the price you guys are paying for 128Mb...!
Its nothing for them compared to what you paid for your three 512 duos! 😮
The MMCmobile cards are the only one this phone will except..... low size and voltage is what MMcmobile is all about and a pain for people who need more than 128/256 when its out 😞
Plus the 256 in that photo is definatly rediced size you can see if has the attachments for the Adaptor.
there now 128mb available ive got mine and it works fine and dandy i got mine when they first had some in stock and they sold like hotcakes so keep your eye on this space :icon14:

If you read about 3 pages back thats link is already given 😉 several people on this forum have already brought them.
The trouble being 128meg on this phone with the camera and mp3 is not going to be enougth 😊
Hopefully kingmax and expansis will have the 256 one out before long.

Hmmm, 38 for 128Mb or 64 for 512Mb - which of those is better value... do you need to get your calculator? Hey you could have had a 128Mb RS MMC for 13, I guess there really is one born every minute, which is just as well for Nokia and Expansys
i want to ask if ayn one test
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=115189
512Mb they said
The smallest multi media card available! RS MMC cards can be used with some of the latest 3G mobile phones and smartphones - and using the supplied adaptor, you can use your RS MMC card in devices normal multi media slots.
so i want to know if it realy work on 6630

Ok, 'DV' RS MMC's only. Sheesh.
I'm new to series 60. I havent found a use for the pencil key. What does that do?

No offence but a bit of reading and self-research won't do you harm. I've learned a lot about series60 in that way. Just explore and try things for yourself. In that way will learn the most. At first I didn't understand things about dv-rs-mmc etc etc but after some self-research i knew much more about it.
About the pencil key. You can use the pencil key for copy and pasting text though i don't use that button much. There are several other functions for that button which i forgot about. Just look in the manual, it should tell you more about that button.

You go first :icon14: buy a 512meg RSMMC and a 6630 and put the card in the phone :icon14: If it works I will give you a 5 😉 offer valid until 15/02/2005
However if you actually bothered to read the thread you will notice that this phone does not except standard RSMMCs or we wouldent be having a full blown out discusion over a 128 one 🙄 you may realise the stupidity of your post.

No, I think you'll find that you are the stupid one - I was simply drawing attention to the premium you are paying for DV memory. If YOU read this post from the start, you'll find that I am well aware of the limitation (and have many posts in evidence of this) that the 6630 suffers from in relation to DV RS MMCs. In fact I brought this very problem up on a number of other boards (my-symbian.com).
My point it that you suckers seem to be happy to bend over and pay twice the price of a normal 3v 128Mb RS MMC and appear almost pleased to being doing it!! My 512Mb comparison was between the 512Mb MS Duo Pro (MemoryStick = MS) which is most often above the price - per Mb - of less proprietary (use a dictionary) flash memory formats such as MMC or SD. Not in this case though, Nokia's 'pioneering' approch means that 6630 users have no option to pay over the odds for flash memory in tiny capacities. Every time a new phone comes out people don't want to be limited to 64 or 128Mb for 6 months...
Us suckers?? well thx alot for that insult
We pay that amount because its new technology and in time will come down, we also want more memory so what other choice do we have?
if all u can do is insult people keep your comments to yourself
Not rearlly 😛 Vodafone gave me 50 to buy a 64meg card so I figure 40 for a 128 was a good deal.
Has anyone seen these 256MB DV RS-MMC cards for sale on German Ebay?
They're all finished now, but have a look: http://search-completed.ebay.co.uk/dv_W0QQcatrefZC6QQcatrefZC6QQfisZ2QQfltZ9QQfromZR10QQfrppZ25QQfsooZ2QQfsopZ1QQftrtZ1QQftrvZ1QQsacatZQ2d1QQsassZefeQ2delektroQ2dundQ2dcomputerhandelQQsbrftogZ1QQsellerZ1QQsofocusZbs
In the item description the seller seems pretty adamant that they really are 1.8v/3.3v dual voltage cards that work with the 6630, even offers a money back guarantee if they don't. And his feedback is good.
I was watching a few of them today but forgot all about it and missed all the auctions.
They're TakeMS brand cards, and I've even seen 512MB TakeMS versions also advertised as "dual voltage guaranteed 6630 compatible" from a German seller.
He had a whole load of them before, I'll definitely be keeping an eye on his auctions. They went for an average of 50 Euros, which works out at about 40 including shipping.
Here's that 512MB card: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=9360&item=6364386305&rd=1
Going to give TakeMS a call today and see what the score is.
Just gave them a call and the bloke was quite adamant that their cards AREN'T dual voltage.
Someone off Nokiafree forums has ordered one, so all that remains is to see if his works: http://nokiafree.org/forums/t72733/h/s.html
Well those 512mb+ cards will come soon I guess.
The fact that we pay more for a DV-RS-MMC than for a MS Duo Pro or any other card is because of the specs.
-The DV-RS-MMC are tiny pieces of technology. A 128mb card can store as much as your 128 mb duo pro, but theDV RS MMC 128mb fits in a much smaller device.
-Than the DV story; those DV cards don't use as much of your batteries as your Duo Pro.
In short: DV-RS-MM: Low voltage (longer battery life), smallest size, a capacity like any other card & and a slightly higher price
And as said before those prices will drop.. dv-rs-mmc is the newest in town.
And if you like to buy another device instead of the n6630...we don't care. The ipod shuffle sucks compared to a n6630 and a PSP is a device you can only use for games... not a real replacement for a smartphone 😎
🙄 well I know what to choose..
PS
Already mentioned before only dual voltage reduced size multimediacards or DV-RS-MMC card will fit in and work with your n6630. If you spot a mmc on the net check the size 24 x 12 x 1.4 mm and the operating voltage between 1,8 to 3,3 V. If the cards have these specs it will work in your n6630
I got mine from mobilefun.co.uk .... they said it would be two weeks as I had to preorder and looking at the hits on this thread I'm glad I did ...but it came in 2 days and works a dream 😃
They only had 128mb though.. really need 256mb with the pic sizes and video and music.... make that 512mb please 🙄

Does it actually say that on the packaging of the card you bought from Mobilefun?
If so, they're being a bit sneaky by buying up Expansys stock for 33 and selling it for 40. Tut tut! :icon13:
Not rearlly everyone has to get their stock from somewhere and in this case its expansis 😉
They prob have a trade account so get them cheap servs people right rearlly for being go gullible and buying from mobilefun
Another name to add to the list of DV RS-MMC manufacturers: Extremememory of Germany.
Going by reports on other forums, they work fine.
And Amazon.de is doing them for 20 Euros: http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0007PG9IK/qid=1107878565/028-1994667-5676520
That's around 14 quid. Stick that up your thieving arse Expansys.
Alas, none in stock anymore...
anyone got 256mb or larger yet??
be patient & wait for another 2 weeks. 😉
wow..just read through the whole post...quite a discussion going on..ithink i'll wait till my workplace stocks them..(feb 21st) and get a chunky discount off one...i aint in any hurry...for pics...i take em..n print em out at work....then delete from mem card.. 😃 btw..if anybody here lives in and around bolton, and has a 6630, i would be more than happy to use (abuse lol) my staff discount when they arrive on the 21st, to give ya a reduced price... 😃
Cheers for the info 😉
Do you know what size cards you're expecting on the 21st?
If your CPW branch is expecting them soon then others should get them around the same time I'd assume.
